Bread of Life – toward Believers only or the World also, Eventually?
Question
Didn’t Lord Jesus Christ say that only those who eat His Flesh and Drink His Blood (partaking it “spiritually”), hence ‘believers only’ gain eternal life?
Reply
We are not ignoring any of His Word.
He said He gives His Body for the whole world too and not “believers only” (John 6:33, John 6:51).
Too much to explain sir. If you’re really keen on the details, please consider the write up below for edification:
Salvation of All Men post Afterlife Judgments? – Must be Saved
"For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world.” - Lord Jesus Christ (John 6:33, NASB)
"This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. This is the bread which came down out of heaven; not as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live forever." - Lord Jesus Christ (John 6:50, 58, NASB)
He will Give it to the WORLD too and 'not believers only' (implied to be post afterlife Judgment):
"I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh." - Lord Jesus Christ (John 6:51, NASB)
Please note the word "World" carefully in the quoted Verses (even 1 John 2:2 and John 1:29 for further edification).
Peace to you
