Different Hearts

The difference: Job vs his wife

When the ‘goodship is gone’, the wife left him & told Job to ‘curse God and die’:

His (Job’s) wife said to him, “Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!” (Job 2:9)

The verse (below) captures Job’s very ‘spiritually matured’ reply:

He said to her, you speak as one of the foolish women would speak. Shall we receive good from God and shall we not receive evil? In all this Job did not sin with his lips.” (Job 2:10)

P/S:

These seemingly ‘evil’ incidents made ‘Job a legend’ while ‘his wife was not’.

This reminds me of a classically true quote, “It’s not the situation but our attitude toward the situation which reveals us since two people (e.g. Job & his wife) were enduring somewhat an evil situation, but their ‘attitudes’ were diametrically opposite, which revealed the ‘truth’ about each of them respectively”.

Also, this may help you to understand another deep (but unpopular) Biblical truth (below):

while I was still searching but not finding– I found one upright man among a thousand, but not one upright woman among them all.” (Ecclesiastes 7:28)

Our ‘attitude’ in a ‘situation’ will ‘reveal’ us since everybody is ‘nice’ in a ‘nice situation only’ (especially when ‘all their needs & expectations are met, they’re protected & well taken care of’ —> “selfish” motives).

Don’t worry, on that Day, God will “prove” each of “His Word” (as written in the Bible) true in ‘each one’s life’:

For there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, and nothing concealed that will not be known and illuminated.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 8:17)

Yes, even the “thoughts” of “many hearts” will be revealed by “Him”:

Yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul, that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.” (Luke 2:35)

Yes, ‘all motives’ of the ‘heart’ (of everyone) will be ‘revealed’ by God (then, you’ll see whether one has a ‘good’ heart or not, truly):

Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.” – apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 4:5)
