Faith of Jesus Christ

(i) It’s Scriptural to use this term.

Example verse:

“Even the Righteousness of God which is by Faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:” (Romans 3:22, KJV)

“and the Righteousness of God is through the Faith of Jesus Christ to all, and upon all those believing, — for there is no difference,” (Romans 3:22, YLT)

Please notice also the word ‘through’ in front of the phrase ‘Faith of Jesus Christ’.

(ii) Meaning?

Two possibilities (because the Original Greek doesn’t come with full stops or punctuation & the meaning can be either one of the following according to the punctuation in English as we read it):

The ‘righteousness of God’ is imputed to “all” (not some or ‘those believing’ only) eventually —> through —> the ‘Faith of Jesus Christ’ (Christ’s Perfect Faith) Alone

‘Those believing’ (a different phrase used here) or “believers” —> are mentioned to have “no distinction or difference” —> among “them” with regards to this imputation of the ‘Righteousness of God’

—-> Second Possibility <—-

The ‘righteousness of God’ is imputed to “all” (not some or ‘those believing’ only) eventually —> through —> the ‘Faith of Jesus Christ’ (Christ’s Perfect Faith) Alone

‘Those believing’ (a different phrase used here) or “believers” —> are mentioned to have “no distinction or difference” —> with regards to this imputation of the “Righteousness of God” —> upon “them” or upon “all” eventually

—-> Either Way <—-

Either way (based on the possibilities above), both reading agree that the “Righteousness of God” will be imputed upon “all” through the “Faith of Christ” agreeing to the Ancient Prophecy below too:

“They will say of Me, ‘Only in the LORD are righteousness and strength.’
Men will come to Him,
And all who were angry at Him will be put to shame.” (Isaiah 45:24)

This imputation of the “Righteousness of God” after the Beautiful Confession of ‘Jesus is Lord’ (Philippians 2:11) —-> relates to the quoted verse above as they all refer to this same Ancient Prophecy (context) —-> would cause the ‘all’ to ‘be Saved’ eventually too as echoed in verses surrounding it (‘context’, from these same passages, revealing it):

“Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth;
For I am God, and there is no other.

“I have sworn by Myself,
The word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness
And will not turn back,
That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance.” (Isaiah 45:22 – 23)

The ‘all’ confessing this ‘swearing’ (of Allegiance to Him) is ‘not’ just hinting Salvation (please note the phrase “be saved” in verse above) for men only but anything else which needs to be reconciled back to God on earth or in the heavens as is readily seen when this ‘same’ prophecy is revealed of ‘further details’ in New Testament verses:

“For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,

so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9 – 11)

(iii) Why do we need the ‘Faith of Jesus Christ’?

To “be Saved” because we cannot save ourselves. His Faith will impute the “Righteousness of God” upon “all” eventually beginning with the Beautiful Confession that ‘Jesus is Lord’ & the verses beautifully describe various aspects regarding this and agree perfectly!

We need the “Righteousness of God” Alone to be made ‘holy’ in order to be ‘able to see the Lord’ (in principle too):

“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:” (Hebrews 12:14)

“But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, Who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification (holiness), and redemption,” (1 Corinthians 1:30)

Our ‘holiness’ or ‘righteousness’ is ‘filthy’ & that’s why we need the only Perfect “Righteousness of God” to be imputed upon us by the “Faith of Christ Alone”:

“For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; And all of us wither like a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.” (Isaiah 64:6)

(iv) Meaning of His Great Mercy

That imputation of His righteousness upon all ‘freely’ is the Act of “His Mercy” Alone to save us all:

“He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,” (Titus 3:5)

“so these also now have been disobedient, that because of the mercy shown to you they also may now be shown mercy.

For God has shut up all in disobedience so that He may show mercy to all.” (Romans 11:31 – 32)

(v) By His Spirit

“Then he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel saying, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD of hosts.

‘What are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain; and He will bring forth the top stone with shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”’” (Zechariah 4:6 – 7)

The verse above speaks of “by His Spirit” —> leads to “shouts of Grace, grace to it!” (in principle)

Only by “His Spirit” the Beautiful Confession of ‘Jesus is Lord’ —> in truth —> the only type which brings ‘Glory to God the Father’ must be referred to in verses quoted prior because:

“Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is accursed”; and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 12:3)

Yes, By “His Holy Spirit” the Beautiful Confession which ‘seals’ (leads, brings) —-> Salvation upon ‘all’ (because ‘all’ will confess to Him eventually as it is written) —-> due to “His Grace (Mercy) —-> Salvation of the Whole World!

“We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.” (1 John 4:14)

(vi) Times

All are not saved at the same “times” (plural – as it is written in Original Greek Scripture):

“Who did give Himself a ransom for all — the testimony in its own times –” (1 Timothy 2:6)

Yes, it will become true or come to pass in its own times = the meaning of testimony (become true, come to pass) in its own “times”.

Each in his “own order” according to the ‘time’ appointed for it (Example for ‘salvation of all men’ with regards to ‘order’, implying not all at the same time is implied by verses below too):

“But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep.

For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead.

For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.

But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming” (1 Corinthians 15:20 – 23)

“He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority;” (Acts 1:7)

“Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:1)

“if in this life we have hope in Christ only, of all men we are most to be pitied.” (1 Corinthians 15:19)

(vii) Judgment and Hope beyond life on earth

Judgment is there for those not believing in Him as they ‘die in their sins’ (John 8:24):

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” (Hebrews 9:27)

—> Judgment is ‘not’ forever but to the “age” (original word used In Scripture) for ‘life vs punishment’ accordingly:

“And these shall go away to punishment age-during, but the righteous to life age-during.'” (Matthew 25:46)

—-> Judgment for punishment is only till ‘the last cent’ is paid (implying an ‘end in time’)

“Truly I say to you, you will not come out of there until you have paid up the last cent.” (Matthew 5:26)

*Just because one is punished for their sins at Hell or even the Lake of Fire, it doesn’t make them able to enter thereafter simply because there is “no” holiness in them for which we need the “Faith of Christ” to have the “Righteousness of God” imputed upon us as discussed prior.

—-> In Hell or Lake of Fire too, punishment allowed matches the ‘level of cruelty’ according to ‘what one has done only’ as a ‘man reaps what he sows accordingly’ (“no” mocking against God regarding these ‘perfect’ principles is logical in any way when ‘understood correctly’) as “verses” reveal truth as follows too:

“Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him ; for what his hands have done shall be done unto him.” (Isaiah 3:11)

“My heavenly Father will also do the same to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart.” (Matthew 18:35)

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.” (Galatians 6:7)

—> Even to the ‘merciless judgment’ upon a ‘merciless one’, Scripture implies an “end” to such a Judgment because “Mercy still triumphs over judgment” too (stopping such a Judgment as well):

“For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.” (James 2:13)

Agreeing to a ‘conclusion’ verse that even the one ‘breaking’ His Commandments will eventually be ‘in His Kingdom of the heaven’s too (by “His Mercy” to ‘all’ as seen earlier as well):

“Whoever therefore breaks one of these least commandments and teaches others to break them, will be called the least in the Kingdom of the Heavens; but whoever practises them and teaches them, he will be acknowledged as great in the Kingdom of the Heavens.” (Matthew 5:19)

Truly, God is Good all the time even His Judgments too repaying evil accordingly but also making a way for ‘all’ to be saved or reconciled to Him eventually by the ‘Faith of Christ’ Alone (for men & beyond as He Wills):

“We must all die; we are like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God will not take away life, and he devises means so that the banished one will not remain an outcast.” (2 Samuel 14:14)

“which He lavished upon us in all wisdom and understanding,

having made known to us the mystery of His Will according to His pleasure, which He purposed in Him

for the dispensation of the fullness of the times, to bring together all things in Christ—the things in the heavens and the things upon the earth— [in Him]” (Ephesians 1:8 – 10)

“and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in the heavens.” (Colossians 1:20)
