Favorite Hearts
Apart from God, I also “remember” who forgave me so “lovingly”… As the Lord revealed the “hearts” from which I could determine “my favourite”.
Having favourites is not wrong as God and even some of the greatest men of God in the Bible had their favourites. For example,
(1) Favourite Son
“Now Israel (formerly, Jacob) loved Joseph more than all his sons,…” (Genesis 37:3)
(2) Favourite Brother
“And of Asher he (Moses) said, “Most blessed of sons be Asher; let him be the favorite of his brothers, and let him dip his foot in oil.” (Deuteronomy 33:24)
(3) Favourite Friend
“I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan; You have been very pleasant to me. Your love to me was more wonderful Than the love of women.” – king David (2 Samuel 1:26)
(4) Favoured (Loved) Disciple
“Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them; the one who also had leaned back on His bosom at the supper and said, “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?” So Peter seeing him said to Jesus, “Lord, and what about this man?” Jesus said to him, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow Me” (John 21:20 – 22)
*This disciple (John the Apostle) is the only one among the Twelve who did “not” die in martyrdom but is believed to have died in natural causes.
Being that said, having a favourite does “not” mean that God loves you any lesser but rather it remains that He is “fair to all” except that “His Favourites” have ‘touched His Heart ♥’ where others failed to do by their acts or words, “first” or in “such depth”.
