If Hell is True, then why apostle Paul did not write about it at all?
Lord Jesus Christ mentioned “Hell” (which refers to any afterlife Judgment collectively) be it the immediate one (Hades, ‘Rich Man & Lazarus Description’, Luke 16:19 – 31) and even the Final One, as “Gehenna or the Lake of Fire” (e. g. Matthew 10:28, James 3:6, Revelation 20:11 – 15).
But why didn’t apostle Paul mention it?
To Quote from Page (233 or 363) from the ‘Lost Orthodoxy’ Book:
Apostle Paul does NOT Write about the Second Death in the Lake of Fire at all in 1 Corinthians because he is focused in the BEYOND the afterlife Judgment-part toward the END result only in that “all men who die in Adam” will be “made alive in Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:21 – 22, not immediately but post age-during Judgment in the Lake of Fire for some) —-> where “being MADE ALIVE in CHRIST” means in the FLESH of a RESURRECTED IMPERISHABLE SINLESS BODY eventually but with differing glory (1 Corinthians 15:38 – 44).
So, the “age-during life” is given to ALL FLESH = ALL MEN eventually (be it post afterlife judgment for some, implied with other Verses such as ‘Mercy which Triumphs over Judgment eventually’, James 2:13) as John 17:2 Reveals.
So, apostle Paul did not write about Hell-judgment part simply because he focused on explaining the beginning and end where the Judgment-part is not Eternal but a temporary intermediate state till the last penny.
Also, another reason why this is hidden till Christ was Revealed is because God Willed such “Dark Sayings” of Old to be Hidden till He Explained it as the Verse in Image means too (Psalm 78:2).
Judgment of God – It is Serious
Judgment is not punishment or penalty, but a decision based on knowledge of good and evil (ie: wisdom).
No verse limits Judgment to that ‘only’ and such an opinion is not substantiated by first Christianity.
1) Example Verse: James 2:13.
Phrase: “Judgment without Mercy” to the one “having shown no Mercy”.
2) Another Verse: Isaiah 3:11
Phrase: “What the wicked have done will be done back to them”.
3) First Christianity Examples
Verse: 2 Thessalonians 1:8
Phrase: “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:”
When God does evil, it is according to His perfect wisdom —> FALSE.
“Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for GOD CANNOT be tempted by EVIL, and He Himself does NOT tempt anyone.” (James 1:13, NASB)
Isaiah 45:7, “I form the light and create darkness; I make peace and CREATE EVIL; I the Lord do all these things.”. —-> TRUE
But here’s the ‘Proper explanation’ by a ‘REAL Authority of Doctrine, St. Irenaeous of Lyons himself’ where Irenaeos does NOT refer to ‘evil done by man’ (e.g. a rape) but the JUDGMENT EVIL ONLY (see the difference?), to quote (from Page 12):
“… but to others, “Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting [AGE-DURING] FIRE, which My Father has prepared for the devil and his angels,” one and the SAME FATHER is manifestly declared [in this passage], “making peace and CREATING EVIL things,” preparing FIT THINGS for BOTH; as also there is ONE JUDGE sending both into a FIT PLACE, as the Lord sets forth in the parable of the tares and the wheat, where He says, “As therefore the tares are gathered together, and burned in the fire, so shall it be at the END of the world [AGE]…” (Irenaeous of Lyons, ‘Against Heresies’, Book 4, Chapter XL.-One and the Same God the Father Inflicts Punishment on the Reprobate, and Bestows Rewards on the Elect, Point 1,
In Page 523 (in Book ‘Lost Orthodoxy’) we find Irenaeous FIGHTING AGAINST this ‘ancient Gnostic Pagan error of ascribing to God the act of evil’, as follows:
That God is not the Author of Evil, for Florinus seemed to be defending this opinion. —-> some among the ‘Calvinists or Universalists’ also ERR LIKEWISE in ‘falsely’ attributing God to Doing Evil instead of realizing the TRUTH that ‘God does NOT Influence or DO EVIL AT ALL’ (James 1:13) and He only JUDGES EVIL by RETURNING the SAME EVIL back to the
Perpetrators in this life or next (Galatians 6:7, Isaiah 3:11) as ancient Christianity CORRECTLY taught say regarding the meaning of Isaiah 45:7.
Please see Page 367 in that same Book ‘Lost Orthodoxy’ for an accurate Scriptural Exegesis with NO contradictions (and agrees to Irenaeous’) instead of the one you proposed (which is contradicted by the Verses above).
If you reject believing in Verses, that’s exactly how I reject believing in ‘Verseless-Opinions’. Yes, I believe in Verses from the Bible.
