Testimony

Testimony – Overcomers – Tree of Life

Verse:

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” – Apostle John’s Apocalyptic Vision (Revelation 12:11, KJV)

What are the three Biblical Traits for every overcoming believer of Christ?

Based on the Verse above it is:

(i) Blood of the Lamb

(ii) Word of their Testimony

(iii) Did not love their lives unto Death

Focus: ‘Word of their Testimony’

I was asked what’s my personal testimony especially in the Context of believing Lord Jesus Christ as Savior of All Men especially believers (1 Timothy 4:10) to being the ‘Most Blessed Savior of the World’ (1 John 4:14, John 3:17)?

Please find it described in links below:

P/S: A Verse for Biblical “Overcomers”?

“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.” (Revelation 2:7, KJV)

Let’s Believe in Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

P/S: St. Irenaeous of Lyons Explains

To Quote, from pages 36 – 39 of the ‘Lost Orthodoxy’ Book:

“… Wherefore also He [God] drove him [MAN] out of Paradise, and removed him [MAN] far from the tree of life, not because He envied him the tree of life, as some venture to assert, but because He pitied him [MAN], [and did NOT desire] that he [MAN] should continue a sinner for ever, NOR that the SIN which surrounded him should be IMMORTAL, and EVIL INTERMINABLE and IRREMEDIABLE. But He [God] set a BOUND to his [STATE of] SIN, by interposing death, and thus causing sin to cease, putting an END to it by the DISSOLUTION of the FLESH, which should take place in the earth, so that MAN, CEASING at length to live to SIN, and dying to it, might begin to live to God…

-indicating that SIN, which was set up and SPREAD out AGAINST MAN, and which rendered him subject to DEATH, should be DEPRIVED of ITS POWER, along with DEATH, which rules [over MEN]; and that the lion, that is, ANTICHRIST, rampant AGAINST MANKIND in the latter days, should be TRAMPLED DOWN by Him [Lord Jesus Christ]; and that He should bind “the dragon, that old serpent” and SUBJECT him to the power of man, who had been conquered so that ALL his MIGHT should be TRODDEN DOWN. Now ADAM had been conquered, all life having been taken away from him: wherefore, when the foe was conquered in his turn, ADAM received NEW LIFE; and the LAST ENEMY, DEATH, is DESTROYED, which at the first had taken possession of MAN. Therefore, WHEN MAN has been LIBERATED, “what is written shall COME to PASS, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death sting? ” This could not be said with JUSTICE, if THAT MAN, over whom death did first obtain dominion, were not set free. For HIS SALVATION is DEATH’s DESTRUCTION. When therefore the Lord VIVIFIES MAN, that is, ADAM, DEATH is at the same time DESTROYED” (Irenaeous, ‘Against Heresies’ Book 3, Chapter XXIII, Point 6, Point 7)

Examples from Irenaeous quote above (which pertains to ‘man generally’ – again):

  1. a) that he [MAN] should continue a sinner for ever, NOR that the SIN which surrounded him should be IMMORTAL, and EVIL INTERMINABLE and IRREMEDIABLE —-> Doesn’t Sound Consistent with the ‘eternal Hell’ argument that ‘sin & evil’ exists eternally locked up somewhere for ‘some men’?

  1. b) But He [God] set a BOUND to his [STATE of] SIN, by interposing death, and thus causing sin to cease = the Word BOUND itself indicates a ‘limited punishment & existence in sin’, e.g. ‘age-during punishment & dying in their sins, and NOT forever’.

  1. c) putting an END to it [the ‘state of sin in MAN’] by the DISSOLUTION of the FLESH, which should take place in the earth, so that MAN, CEASING at length to live to SIN, and dying to it, might begin to live to God… = The Phrase ‘Dissolution of the FLESH’ Sounds like ‘BODY + SOUL being DESTROYED in Gehenna or the Lake of Fire’ (Matthew 10:28, Revelation 20:11 – 15) —-> which causes ‘CEASING at length to live to SIN, and dying to it, might begin to live to God’ —> sounds like the ‘spirit is saved and is living to God explanation given in earlier posts, LITERALLY’ (1 Peter 4:6, 1 Corinthians 5:5).

  1. d) indicating that SIN, which was set up and SPREAD out AGAINST MAN, and which rendered him subject to DEATH, should be DEPRIVED of ITS POWER, along with DEATH, which rules [over MEN]; = God’s Will Points to BOTH SIN and DEATH to NOT last ‘forever’, right?

  1. e) and that the lion, that is, ANTICHRIST, rampant AGAINST MANKIND in the latter days, should be TRAMPLED DOWN by Him [Lord Jesus Christ]; and that He should bind “the dragon, that old serpent” and SUBJECT him to the power of man, who had been conquered so that ALL his MIGHT should be TRODDEN DOWN. = Even the Deeds of the Antichrist (the ‘most powerful evil of all’) should NOT last ‘forever’, right?

Irenaeous Beautifully Reveals that CHRIST will be TRIUMPHANT —-> till even the ‘antichrist’ and ‘ALL the MIGHT’ of the ‘dragon’ (or ‘satan’ too) MUST END —> being TRODDEN DOWN —> and ‘not last forever in some way’, e.g. in an ‘eternal Hell’, right?

  1. f) Now ADAM had been conquered, all life having been taken away from him: wherefore, when the foe was conquered in his turn, ADAM received NEW LIFE; and the LAST ENEMY, DEATH, is DESTROYED, which at the first had taken possession of MAN. Therefore, WHEN MAN has been LIBERATED, “what is written shall COME to PASS, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death sting? ” This could not be said with JUSTICE, if THAT MAN, over whom death did first obtain dominion, were not set free. For HIS SALVATION is DEATH’s DESTRUCTION = Adam’s SALVATION is Certain.

  1. g) Who is ADAM being referred to in these passages here by Irenaeous?

Does it refer to ADAM only?

When therefore the Lord VIVIFIES MAN, that is, ADAM, DEATH is at the same time DESTROYED = All the above Points to ALL MEN being SAVED eventually by God (1 Timothy 2:4 – KJV) till they all become SINLESS.

How?

Please read ‘carefully’ the ‘last line’ above and ‘realize’ that the ‘only context’ here is:

the Lord VIVIFIES MAN —-> refers IRREFUTABLY to —-> ADAM.

Can you see it?

MAN (ALL Men or ALL Human Beings ever Created) = ADAM in Irenaeous’ Explanation above (‘his own definition and usage’). Shocked?

Beautiful, isn’t it?

Yes,

the Lord VIVIFIES MAN (Adam) till ‘DEATH is at the same time DESTROYED’ = Points to EVERY HUMAN BEING ever Created to eventually Receive a NEW RESURRECTED FLESH eventually (John 17:2, 1 Corinthians 15:21 – 22).

Truly,

“For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our HOPE on the LIVING GOD, Who is the Savior of ALL MEN, especially of believers.” – apostle Paul (1 Timothy 4:10, NASB)

‘believers are a more special subset for believing in Him first’, yes —-> but, God WILL SAVE ALL MEN eventually.

Conclusion

It is very clear that both Justin and Irenaeous understood Universal Salvation via Judgment toward the Wicked too —-> in their “DISSOLUTION of the FLESH” —–> to “Make ALL things NEW, ALL FLESH ANEW” (which I call in my Writing as the ‘Second Resurrection of the wicked’ per say), since they get HEALED & MADE ANEW post GEHENNA or LAKE of FIRE Judgment as implied in these authoritative quotes.

Justin & Irenaeous are MISUNDERSTOOD in regards to WHAT they MEANT to be ANNIHILATED in their quotes —-> which as we see from the above (‘in their own writings’) —–> points to ‘sin & evil ceasing to exist in the punished wicked’ and NOT their ‘existence itself’.

Half Truth – Hate Alone or Love too?

(Old Testament Quoting Habit Without New Testament Verses – An Illustrative Example)

Now which “All” is referred to in Romans 11:32?

The “All” (Romans 11:32) refers to ‘both the believers (KJV) & the unbelievers (KJV)’ or ‘both the obedient (NASB) & the disobedient (NASB)’ eventually as the Irrefutable Context of Consecutive Verses Prove this in Verses 30 – 31 which is Written to ‘include even the ENEMIES of the GOSPEL’ (Verse 28) and THIS IS WHAT is called as the IRREVOCABLE ‘calling of God’ Collectively (in Verse 29).

Do you Realize that THIS is WHAT is Written in the HOLY BIBLE if we take it AS IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 11?

Romans 9 Speaks of the Predestination of God toward the Elect Ones whilst apostle Paul Continues to Argue the ‘Judgment of God’ toward others in Chapter 10 & 11 but Concludes with a Mercy which Triumphs over Judgment as the ‘Last Word’ in Romans 11:32 as described briefly above.

Marriage – Does it lead you away from God?

Firstly, “forbidding to marry” (for whatever reason) is a ‘trait of a false teaching’ as the Verse below mentions:

“men who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth.” – apostle Paul (1 Timothy 4:3, NASB)

In 1 Corinthians 7:33 – 34, apostle Paul reveals that a married Christian person will have his interests “divided” between “God vs Spouse”.

Does it mean that marriage is bad?

Not at all; the Verses in 1 Corinthians 7:33 – 34 speaks of the ‘natural tendency’ which exists but by marrying a ‘prudent wife from the LORD’ (Proverbs 19:14) it should be overcome as a ‘Good Wife leads you closer to Lord Jesus Christ’ & Vice Versa in a Christian perspective.

Is there a Good Example of a Married Man who didn’t lose out from attaining the best he can be in God’s Kingdom? Yes, please consider:

(i) Apostle Peter (well known that he was married & his wife loved the Lord & helped him in ministry)

(ii) Other apostles and early church leaders in First Christianity also had “believing” wives who supported them greatly in ministry as apostle Paul himself declares in Verse below:

“Do we not have a right to take along a believing wife, even as the rest of the apostles and the brothers of the Lord and Cephas?” – apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 9:5, NASB)

(iii) Is there a out of Bible Example?

Yes, the legendary St. Gregory of Nyssa himself was married (though some don’t realize this) & his sainthood and contributions to Christian Theology remain Orthodox and Phenomenal especially in the Context of ‘Universal Reconciliation in Christ’, to quote:

“Since the mid-twentieth century, there has been a significant increase in interest in Gregory’s works from the academic community, particularly involving universal salvation, which has resulted in challenges to many traditional interpretations of his theology…

Gregory himself claimed that his only teachers were Basil, “Paul, John and the rest of the Apostles and prophets”.

While his brothers Basil and Naucratius lived as hermits from c. 355, Gregory initially pursued a non-ecclesiastical career as a rhetorician. He did however, act as a lector.[16] He is known to have married a woman named Theosebia during this period, who is sometimes identified with Theosebia the Deaconess, venerated as a saint by Orthodox Christianity. This is controversial, however, and other commentators suggest that Theosebia the Deaconess was one of Gregory’s sisters.”

(i) Please bear in mind that St. Gregory of Nyssa understood that Lord Jesus Christ will eventually Reconcile ALL CREATED THINGS (including Satan) back to Him as Colossians 1:16, 20 literally means, to quote:

Satan will be saved:

“Gregory of Nyssa ( 330-394) said Satan will be saved, “A certain deception was indeed practised upon the Evil one, by concealing the Divine nature within the human; but for the latter, as himself a deceiver, it was only a just recompense that he should be deceived himself: the great adversary must himself at last find that what has been done is just and salutary, when he also shall experience the benefit of the Incarnation. He, as well as humanity, will be purged.” (The Great Catechism, 26, newadvent.org/fathers/2908.htm)

(ii) How Influential, Orthodox and Respectable was St. Gregory of Nyssa even among his ‘eternal Hell’ rivals?

“But also four hundred years after his death the Seventh Ecumenical Council gave him (St. Gregory of Nyssa) the one and only title which it has given to theologians in the Church, naming him ‘father of fathers’.”

I’m not in favour of the term ‘father of fathers’ (in reference to Matthew 23:9) but it is better to be worded ‘leader of leaders’ among the Church Leaders but I am quoting it to point to the Orthodoxy of this Saint.

Conclusion

“House and wealth are an inheritance from fathers, But a prudent wife is from the LORD.” (Proverbs 19:14, NASB)

What are the Traits of a Biblical Prudent Wife?

Please study ‘Proverbs 31’ carefully. His Word Alone is True and to such a Woman, God’s Word says:

“Many daughters have done nobly, But you excel them all.” (Proverbs 31:29, NASB)

Peace to you

Death Penalty Justified or is Justice taken into one’s own hands?

It depends upon the ‘Law of each Country’. In some countries, the court’s decision (if image is true) would be to ‘sentence the father instead for murder’.

The father has a right to Judge or Forgive. You and I have “no say” in it. Apart from the father, only the “raped daughter”, “the girl’s mother” and the related “country’s Law” has a say in it too ‘among humans’.

God Will have His Say in the “Judgment-part” which follows immediately “after death” as Hebrews 9:27 means.

If the Law of the Country allows it, I wouldn’t call it murder and thus I agree with the court’s decision in principle of the “New Testament” Verse below:

“for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil.” – apostle Paul (Romans 13:4, NASB)

The Verse above clearly gives judicial rights to a ‘government official’ (“Context”) to bear the “sword” (“which includes capital punishment”) but he has to ‘make sure that he is right’ & the ‘executed or punished person is evil’ or if not God’s Judgment will Return upon his own head.

So, as in image, the ‘Court’s (or ‘Government’) gives this right of ‘executing that rapist to the father’ (who chose that Justice instead of forgiving) in a “Retrospective” manner which is Justifiable by Human Law and it ties up to the Verse above.

Let us thus “fear” to do “evil”.

Conclusion

“He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous, Both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD.” (Proverbs 17:15, NASB)

“To show partiality to the wicked is not good, Nor to thrust aside the righteous in judgment.” (Proverbs 18:5, NASB)
