Tree of Life
Tree of Life
“Out of the ground the LORD God caused to grow every tree that is pleasing to the sight and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” (Genesis 2:9)
“Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live to the age “–” (Genesis 3:22)
“So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.” (Genesis 3:24)
“She (Wisdom) is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, And happy are all who hold her fast.” (Proverbs 3:18)
“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” (Proverbs 11:30)
“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But desire fulfilled is a tree of life.” (Proverbs 13:12)
“A soothing tongue is a tree of life, But perversion in it crushes the spirit.” (Proverbs 15:4)
“‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life which is in the Paradise of God.'” (Revelation 2:7)
“Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb,
in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
There will no longer be any curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bond-servants will serve Him;” (Revelation 22:1 – 3)
The below translated based on slightly different manuscripts:
“Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.” (Revelation 22:14, NASB)
“Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” (Revelation 22:14, KJV)
The warning:
“and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.” (Revelation 22:19)
