Wisdom & Knowledge – Increases Sorrow

“A wise person thinks a lot about death, while a fool thinks only about having a good time.” (Ecclesiastes 7:4, NLT)

A set of Verses proving that an increase of knowledge and wisdom increases sorrow:

“I have seen all the works which have been done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and striving after wind. And I set my mind to know wisdom and to know madness and folly; I realized that this also is striving after wind. Because in much wisdom there is much grief, and increasing knowledge results in increasing pain.” (Ecclesiastes 1:14, 17 – 18, NASB)

So is Wisdom & Knowledge a bad thing then? No.

How?

All the Hopelessness above is due to ‘man’s failure in fulfilling God’s Will’. With God’s Intervention, He Will Turn the Sorrow to Joy!

Example:

(i) When the Last Enemy Death is Abolished (post-afterlife Judgments), all tears will be wiped away:

“and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4, NASB)

“He will swallow up death for all time, And the Lord GOD will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; For the LORD has spoken.” (Isaiah 25:8, NASB)

Please note that Isaiah 25:8 seen ‘together’ with Revelation 21:4 implies this ‘Prophetically’ as both Verses are connected to the Same Topic and thus revealing further details.

Yes, Revelation 21:4 is Prophetic in that it is coming to pass during that Time when God is Making All things New some via the Lake of Fire too first.

(ii) All that is CROOKED will be Made Straight Eventually by Lord Jesus Christ

Problem:

“What is crooked cannot be straightened…” (Ecclesiastes 1:15, NASB)

Solution:

“EVERY valley shall be filled, and EVERY mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the CROOKED shall be made STRAIGHT, and the ROUGH ways shall be made SMOOTH;” (Luke 3:5, KJV a Prophecy regarding Christ)

P/S: Why is sorrow given?

An Improvement to the ‘heart’:

“Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.” (Ecclesiastes 7:3, KJV)
