Blaming God – Are we really Good and how about the money?

Some people often assume that ‘they are good’ and then ‘blame God’ for the ‘difficult circumstances’ that they are experiencing in life.

Is their ‘blame upon God’ really a valid case?

No!

It is also a common fallacy to assume that ‘any rich’ person is ‘rewarded by God’ because ‘he deserves it’ (a ‘false’ assumption because this statement is only true for ‘certain cases’ as described later below).

“Do not be afraid when a man becomes rich,
When the glory of his house is increased;

For when he dies he will carry nothing away;
His glory will not descend after him.

Though while he lives he congratulates himself—
And though men praise you when you do well for yourself—” (Psalm 49:16 – 18, NASB)

Please consider the ‘simple’ points below with ‘verses’ for each to see this:

(i) Fallacy: Blaming God when we don’t become rich though we work hard for it

Fact: God NEVER promised any riches to anyone especially through ‘any hard working effort’ (so, we cannot expect it).

“It is vain for you to rise up early, To retire late, To eat the bread of painful labors; For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.” (Psalm 127:2, NASB)

Then, how about people who are rich? It is by ‘time & chance’:

“I again saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift and the battle is not to the warriors, and neither is bread to the wise nor wealth to the discerning nor favor to men of ability; for time and chance overtake them all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:11, NASB)

meaning that

(1) Some are blessed by God when they obtain the riches in the ‘right way’, His Principles

“The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it.” (Proverbs 10:22, KJV)

*Please note that ‘such riches’ from the LORD has ‘no’ sorrow with it while the riches obtained by the ‘evil’ way (next two points) will certainly ‘pierce one with sorrow’ (though being rich) and is the ‘love of money-type’ as the verse below succinctly puts (it causes even the “erring from the faith” too):

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” (1 Timothy 6:10, KJV)

(2) Some others obtain riches through their ‘own’ ruthless evil ways

“A gracious woman attains honor, And ruthless men attain riches.” (Proverbs 11:16, NASB)

(3) and others still obtain riches through Satan’s unjust ways (the ‘gods’ when they ‘accept wicked persons’)

“And he (the devil) led Him (Christ) up and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

And the devil said to Him, “I will give You all this domain and its glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.

“Therefore if You worship before me, it shall all be Yours.”.” (Luke 4:5 – 7, NASB)

“{A Psalm of Asaph.} God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; He judgeth among the gods.

How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.” (Psalm 82:1 – 2, KJV)

Indeed, Hard Working to be rich – is A Worldly Advice (“not” a Biblical one at all)

The Biblical advice is quite the opposite and even “warns” to “cease (stop)” from “it” (‘own wisdom’, ‘own thought’) and please note the word “do not” similar to a “do not” in “do not commit adultery” which is ‘more easily obeyed’ (Point: Are we ‘really’ obedient to ‘His Word’?).

Verse:

“Labour not to make wealth, From thine own understanding cease, Dost thou cause thine eyes to fly upon it? Then it is not.” (Proverbs 23:4, YLT)

P/S:

If we “don’t obey” God’s Word as “it is written”, then ‘why’ blame God when our “own” choices lead to destruction & sorrows in life?

(ii) Fallacy: A rich man will be the easiest to enter the kingdom of God

Fact: It is ‘hardest’ for a rich man to enter God’s Kingdom, even a ‘law abiding, God remembering, full of charity works’ – rich man – to whom Christ addressed still ‘this difficulty’ (despite all the things, ‘he got right’) as described in verses below:

“The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking?”

Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be complete (perfect), go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property (wealth, possessions).

And Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. “Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” ” (Matthew 19:20 – 24, NASB)

Yes, concerning the rich ‘generally’ —-> These verses in psalms seems to quote the difficulty of a rich man to enter the kingdom of God too:

“Do not be afraid when one becomes rich, When the glory of his house is increased; For when he dies he shall carry nothing away; His glory shall not descend after him. Though while he lives he blesses himself (For men will praise you when you do well for yourself), He shall go to the generation of his fathers; They shall never see light. A man who is in honor, yet does not understand, Is like the beasts that perish.” (Psalm 49:16-20, NASB)
But, though it is impossible with men to be saved (even being rich-Law abiding – God remembering etc.) but yet it is still ‘possible’ for God to ‘save him’, as our Most Blessed Saviour continued remarkably:
“When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, “Then who can be saved?”
And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:25 – 26, NASB)

So then, what are the traits of a ‘rich man’ who may enter His Kingdom? (a necessity, and not a guarantee as no one will be saved by works)

Yes, ever wondered what are the traits of a believing rich man who may obtain life in the coming age?

Apostle Paul himself describes in verses below for the rich in the current “age”:

“Those rich in the present age charge thou not to be high-minded, nor to hope in the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, who is giving to us all things richly for enjoyment; —
to do good, to be rich in good works, to be ready to impart, willing to communicate,

treasuring up to themselves a right foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on the life age-during.

O Timotheus, the thing entrusted guard thou, avoiding the profane vain-words and opposition of the falsely-named knowledge,

which certain professing — concerning the faith did swerve; the grace [is] with you. Amen.” (1 Timothy 6:17 – 21, YLT)
(iii) Fallacy: We are good parents though God didn’t provide enough

Are we good parents?

Solution?

Let us be wise. If we do not have enough when we are alone itself, let us not ‘simply’ marry and bring forth children & cause them to suffer in poverty.

A Biblical principle in Parenting (though rarely ever preached from any pulpit) is that the ‘father’ provides ‘the houses & riches’ to his children:

“House and wealth are an inheritance from fathers, But a prudent wife is from the LORD.” (Proverbs 19:14, NASB)

If we take these verses seriously & follow “God’s Perfect Principles” we would never have poverty on earth.

Why Blame God for Poverty across the globe when it is the unwise behavior of parenting which ignored God’s Perfect Rules that caused it in the first place?

The poverty we face is our own doing from generations of such ‘unwise’ practices?

If we don’t have enough to provide for our kids, let us ‘not’ be married instead of marrying by our “own” choice, and then ‘blaming God for our inability to provide’.

Simple, isn’t it?
