A Hidden Blessing of Obedience
A Hidden Blessing of Obedience
We miss especially the ‘spiritual blessings’ when we ‘disobey His Commands’.
When we obey His Commands, we may attain a mystical blessing described as follows:
(i) We only get to “know Him” when we “obey His Commands” as implied by these verses
““In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.
“He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.”” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:20 – 21, NASB)
(ii) A Mystical Home in our hearts when we “obey” is assured
“Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.” (John 14:22, NASB)
(iii) Those who “don’t obey” —> “don’t love” Him
“He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:23, NASB)
Conclusion
Perhaps those who “obey” the “traditions/commandments of men” instead of “what is written” in “His Blessed Word” even being ‘against’ It are as follows:
“And the Lord said: “Because this people draw near with their mouth and honor me with their lips, while their hearts are far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment taught by men,” (Isaiah 29:13, ESV)
“Man finds it hard to get what he wants, because he does not want the best; God finds it hard to give, because He would give the best, and man will not take it.” – George MacDonald
