Keep away – “love of money”

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”.” (Hebrews 13:5)

P/S:
Does the phrase “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” in the verse above mean ‘nothing’ bad will ever happen to us?
No!

Proof?
Look at the lives of the apostles themselves (who were closest to Christ) from history. They suffered incredibly for “believing & following Him”.

Then, what does that ‘phrase’ above mean?

As it implies, whether in “plenty or want”, or in “sufferings or happiness”, He has given His Word that ‘He will never leave you’ (that is, He will be ‘present’ in your ‘troubles’ too – giving you “His Peace”).

Proof verses?

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” – Lord Jesus Christ in (John 14:27)

and,

These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 16:33)

That is, only “His Peace” is promised and “not” money for those “who believe”.

Case study:
Remember, when apostle Paul (who wrote close to about 50% of the New Testament Scriptures) was “called & chosen”, this is the ‘prophecy’ which was given by the Lord Himself for him (note that it doesn’t involve “money-prosperity” —> the higher calling):

I will show him (Paul) how much he must suffer for My Name.” – Lord Jesus Christ in (Acts 9:16)

Paul was honored to endure it.

Lastly, some fulfill “their prophecies” by doing “evil” toward “us” but they don’t realize that they’re actually helping us to fulfill our walk of faith by “believers enduring evil” in order to obtain rewards in the age-during life.

Thus, it makes ‘sense’ to be thankful in “all” circumstances (including “bad” ones) as this is the “Will of God”:

give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
