Different Possible Sums

I have some 5 cents, 10 cents and 50 cents coins. Without looking I take three coins and put on the table. How much could I possibly put on the table?

Solution

If it’s asking the possible sums which can be made from the 3 coins, then it could be as follows:

5 + 5 + 5 = 15
5 + 5 + 10 = 20
5 + 10 + 10 = 25
5 + 5 + 50 = 60
5 + 50 + 50 = 105
5 + 10 + 50 = 65
10 + 10 + 10 = 30
10 + 10 + 50 = 70
10 + 50 + 50 = 110
50 + 50 + 50 = 150

Answer: 15, 20, 25, 30, 60, 65, 70, 105, 110, 150

*Because these are the only possible sums which we can get from a set of some 5 cents, 10 cents & 50 cents coins.
