Distinction: our faith vs Jesus’ Faith

(i) Our Faith

Our faith is defined in Hebrews 11:1

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)

It’s in regards to “us” (believers) toward ‘fulfilling God’s Will in our lives’.

It applies to “our (human) faith” because as the next verse goes,

” For by it the men of old gained approval.” (Hebrews 11:2)

What is the “purpose” of “our faith”?

The Purpose of “our faith” is for “our righteousness to be justified” (Hebrews 11:4), to “please God” (Hebrews 11:6) and to receive “reward (blessings, Hebrews 11:6) And a” better resurrection” (greater rewards) when “enduring more for their faith too” (Hebrews 11:35) and toward “perfection” (Hebrews 11:39 – 40)

Our faith reaps “rewards” (Hebrews 11:4, 6, 35) —> toward “perfection” (Hebrews 11:40)

Agreeing to James 2:22 as well:

“You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected;” (James 2:22)

That’s “our faith”

(ii) Faith of Jesus Christ

The Faith of Jesus Christ is also distinctly defined in Scripture too such as in Romans 3:22, Galatians 2:16 & Galatians 2:20.

Explanation:

Jesus’ Faith Saves All (Romans 3:22)

But God Fulfilling All His Will by “His Act Alone” (e.g. ‘saving the World’, e.g. John 3:17, Colossians 1:20) is independent of “our will” so it “will come to pass” & it’s fulfilment is only dependent upon the “Faith OF Jesus Christ” in such “Will of God” as the verse below states:

“For what? if some have not believed, shall their unbelief make the Faith of God of none effect?

Far be the thought: but let God be true, and every man false; according as it is written, So that Thou shouldest be justified in Thy words, and shouldest overcome when Thou art in judgment.” (Romans 3:3 – 4)

*literally, “Faith OF God” in Greek = “Faith OF Jesus Christ”

Which means the “Faith OF Jesus Christ” (Faith OF God) will not be affected even by “unbelief” because it is independent of any human will & will be fulfilled (God’s Will such as Salvation for All) because these things are “His Work Alone”

So, the “Faith OF Jesus Christ” is ‘God Fulfilling All His Will in Jesus Christ according to Holy Scripture’ (especially Saving the World & Reconciling All things too, John 3:17, Colossians 1:16,20). It’s “faith” as it remains “unseen” Yet till it is “Fulfilled” (“seen”).

Hope it clarifies

P/S:

Scripture defines Faith of Jesus Christ’s effect e.g. in Romans 3:22 & Romans 3:3 – 4)

But I haven’t found a verse like Hebrews 11:1 defining the Faith of Jesus Christ, so I won’t make a definition unless one finds a verse saying that.

However, I can see that regarding our roles, “our faith is to fulfill the Will of God” and thus I understand likewise that the Faith of Jesus Christ is “Christ fulfilling the Will of God” (thus, regardless of ‘any definition’, Christ’s Faith to Fulfill His Will is certainly included in the “Faith of Jesus Christ” evidenced by Romans 3:22 & it’s unfailing aspect mentioned in Romans 3:3 – 4) too
