My Sister

Beware, young men.

“For the lips of a strange woman drop honey, And smoother than oil [is] her mouth,” (Proverbs 5:3)

Sweet.

It’ll be sweet at first.

“And her latter end [is] bitter as wormwood, Sharp as a sword [with] mouths.” (Proverbs 5:4)

Wormwood?

“and the name of the star is called Wormwood, and the third of the waters doth become wormwood, and many of the men did die of the waters, because they were made bitter.” (Revelation 8:11)

Hell.

She’ll bring you to Hell (Hades, Sheol)

“Her feet are going down to death, Sheol do her steps take hold of.” (Proverbs 5:5)

Wandering hearts.

A key characteristic to identify such a woman:

Such women are “not” interested in the “Path of Life” (especially the Word of God which leads to Him).

“She gives no thought to the way of life; her paths wander aimlessly, but she does not know it.” (Proverbs 5:6)

Listen to me.

“Now then, my sons, listen to me;

do not turn aside from what I say.” (Proverbs 5:7)

Prevention is better than cure.

“a path far from her” = Prevention.

“Keep to a path far from her,

do not go near the door of her house,” (Proverbs 5:8)

True Eros = 1 Wife = One love only.

Note the “singular” word “wife” in the verse below. So, those who had more than one wife never got to enjoy this better love.

“May your fountain be blessed,

and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth.

A loving doe, a graceful deer—

may her breasts satisfy you always,

may you ever be intoxicated with her love.

Why, my son, be intoxicated with another man’s wife?

Why embrace the bosom of a wayward woman?” (Proverbs 5:18 – 20)

Exam – mine?

God examines your ways with regard to how you behave/act with women as well:

“For your ways are in full view of the Lord,

and He examines all your paths.” (Proverbs 5:21)

Desire.

You cannot fall into a sin which you didn’t desire at first. So, don’t desire a relationship of a sexual sort with any woman who is not your wife.

“Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.” (James 1:15)

Yes, it leads to death.

Foolish Death.

You will die a fool and death will come to you if you ignore the wisdom to keep away from “strange” women.

“His own iniquities do capture the wicked, And with the ropes of his sin he is holden.

He dieth without instruction, And in the abundance of his folly magnifieth himself!” (Proverbs 5:22 – 23)

Yes. Your sins will hold on to you if you die as a wicked person.

My sister.

Who is my sister?

“Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,”

and to insight, “You are my relative.”

They will keep you from the adulterous woman,

from the wayward woman with her seductive words.” (Proverbs 7:4 – 5)

Yes, “wisdom” is “my sister”.
