Suffering & Hardships

“It is not the man who worships God with words alone who glorifies God in himself but he who for God’s sake bears hardship and suffering in the quest for virtue.” – St Maximus the Confessor, 200 Chapters on the Knowledge of God

To “suffer for Christ” may be the “highest calling” which any man can attain as it was even given to apostle Paul himself as this verse reveals:

“for I will show him how much he (apostle Paul) must suffer for My name’s sake.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Post Resurrection, Acts 9:16)
