The Highest Calling

Let’s read carefully the Words of our Blessed Lord regarding His primary apostle, Paul (verse in picture):

What is promised to Paul when He follows Christ?

Not Great Blessing
Not Great Prosperity
Not Great Health
Not Great Wealth
… Etc.

But

“Great Suffering”

P/S:

So, is God unjust?
Certainly not.

Where is the wisdom in this?
Only then one shall be “Rewarded beyond the suffering endured in this life for His Name sake” in the “coming age(s).”

Here’s the proof verse for that reasoning by apostle Paul himself:

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” (Romans 8:18)

But, is the “suffering” aspect as to Paul a “special case”? No, it applies to “all” believers as the verse below clearly states too:

“Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” (2 Timothy 3:12)

*”Persecution” involves “deep suffering” be it physically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally etc.

**A key “difference” = true believers in the Lord will “never persecute” anybody whether physically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally etc. toward another of a different belief nor treat them differently by showing special favour due to biassedness of race, religion, family ties, etc. in order to strive toward the Perfect Example set by our Blessed Saviour Himself.
