Which publisher would you choose or self-publish? to book publishing ethics discussion

Which publisher would you choose or self-publish? to book publishing ethics discussion.

My preferred reason regarding publishing a book is listed below:

1) It is best to publish a book if you’re first to discover something in that area of study. Translating a book or writing a book which repeats known perspectives is good for academics but it’s not a new discovery. Whether something is a significant discovery or not, this is measured against how much it can affect eternity (e.g. heavenly reward context in Christianity post-resurrection be it “final resurrection body glory levels to treasure in heavens”). So, if an author helped you learn something which you never leant in your Church or from others, why not support that person by buying that book since whether you acknowledge it or not, God knows you learnt it from that person (meaning at least you are fair inside in regard to equality, non-racism etc. as per Christian merit principles).

2) Something is a new discovery if no one else published it at an earlier date. If the discovery is wrong (such as views on Prophecy), it’s okay since it’s a honest study based on evidence presented. That’s why I prefer such things though exciting to think about, but yet needs to be refrained and left only as a possibility and not doctrine.

3) Choose a publisher who represents fair Christian values by merit especially if it’s a traditional publisher.

4) What’s the Biblical “Why” for aiming to publish a book say in theology (especially prophecy)? Daniel 12:3 long prophesied that higher heavens glory is for those more accurate in theology than those even if they are converting many (if less accurate) as lower-stars glory. Testimony of Jesus is more accurate in “prophecy” (Revelation 19:10, NKJV) & double-honour is given to those who labour in “word & doctrine” (more accurate, implied in 1 Timothy 5:17). Based on this, I could shine lesser if my theological opponents’ interpretations were right. So, God is Fair.

5) We must treat those opposing us fairly since if they turn out right, God can still reward us for following principles of honesty & respecting others (example: Christ’s “don’t return insult for insult” in 1 Peter 2:23 & 1 Peter 3:9). Remember, the uneducated Apostle Peter knew more accurate doctrine and prophecy than both the academic & religious scholars of his time and so, we must be open to theological possibilities especially if they are based on great early Church Father quotes. Example: there are lots of other aspects and detailed discussions which I aim to present in a book which is not found in my recent journal papers either below:

i) My 1st Journal Publication

Jonathan Ramachandran, “Non Elect Salvation Possibility” (NESP), The American Journal of Biblical Theology (AJBT, Theological Research), Vol 26, No. 6 (February 9, 2025). www.biblicaltheology.com/Research/RamachandranJ01.pdf ( from www.biblicaltheology.com )

ii) My 2nd Journal Publication Jonathan Ramachandran, “Thousand Year Gap for Prophecy in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 and 1 Corinthians 15:52 with Chiliasm Church Fathers”, The American Journal of Biblical Theology (AJBT, Theological Research), Vol 26, No. 22 (June 1, 2025). www.biblicaltheology.com/Research/RamachandranJ02.pdf (www.biblicaltheology.com/research.html)

6) Regarding money earned from book sales: It’s between you and God how and what you want to spend it on (if any) be it self-sustenance, gospel works, ministry, charity etc. If no money is earned or very little, it’s okay since truth is not measured by book sales either and so, at least you wrote honestly about your studies on the subject. Also, making lots of money by selling a book in which you just reiterate what other books have already said with no new discoveries doesn’t sound highly ethical to me though this is most common in non-fiction (something like copy others & just sell another version of an original product with slight modifications). Selling fiction is imaginary stuff and so, it sells most sometimes but it’s still “not real”.

7) Based on all these, which publisher would you choose from example list below (traditional vs self-publish vs hybrid)? or via a publisher not on this list?

7.1) Self Publish or Hybrid* Options

i) Collective Ink Books

ii) Westbow Press, a division of Thomas Nelson and Zondervan.

iii) Persona Publishing (by Morgan James Publishing)

iv) TBN Trilogy Christian Publishing

v) Outpublish Program (Notion Press)

vi) Gutenhag-Writing

*rest I did not include since Google search shows them to be most likely publishing scams.

7.2) Traditional Publisher Options

i) Biblio Publishing

ii) Cambridge Scholars Publishing (CSP)

etc.

Important: I really appreciate any publisher who has given me an offer to publish my book so far, the choice is not easy! Which publisher if successful, I will put it up in its time on my social media.
