Which Side do I support?

Answer: “neither”.

Explanation:
Many of my theological opponents have claimed that “I’m against Israel” and as a Christian, one must “support Israel”. Thus they proceed to discredit me as a Christian in the eyes of my believing friends back then.

Truth is, both claims are “false”.

I am not against Israel and neither am I for them. If Israel does something ‘right’, I support it and likewise if Israel does something ‘wrong’, I don’t make up a nice excuse to support them regardless either.

Remember. Israel is the “enemy of the Gospel” (since they reject the Messiah, Lord Jesus Christ in this age) but are “elected & loved for the sake of their fathers” (who followed the LORD, hence implying a ‘reconciliation’ tone even for them in the ‘coming age’):

“As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs,” (Romans 11:28)

Here is the “best Biblical answer” (or verse) from the Bible itself regarding “whose side am I supporting” (explaining my stance on such matters)? —> “neither” <—

“Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?”

“Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” Then Joshua fell face-down to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord have for his servant?”

The commander of the Lord’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.” (Joshua 5:13 – 15)

P/S:

The interesting thing is that even for “Joshua” whom the LORD assured prior that “I will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9) did ‘not’ mean any “partiality with God nor with His Army” (as the last set of verses above prove).

Hence, the best Bible based reply is “neither”.
