Can one be Saved beyond Destruction in Hell?

But regarding being Saved after that “destruction”, please consider some points as follows:

(i) When men are subjected to “destruction” (in principle), God can still call them back

“You turn man to destruction; and say, Return, you children of men.” (Psalm 90:3)

(ii) The “duration” of that “fire” for the “destruction” is “age-during” (limited time)

“Then shall he say also to those on the left hand, Go ye from me, the cursed, to the fire, the age-during, that hath been prepared for the Devil and his messengers;” (Matthew 25:41)

(iii) A similar ‘divine’ fire of punishment (using the same root Greek word) similarly describes being used in a punishment (burned temporarily only, to the ‘age’ referring to short time in this case) but later other verses promises “Restoration” to a ‘former state’ (in principle too)

“as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them, in like manner to these, having given themselves to whoredom, and gone after other flesh, have been set before — an example, of fire age-during, justice suffering.” (Jude 1:7)

“Your sisters, Sodom with her daughters and Samaria with her daughters, will return to their former state, and you with your daughters will also return to your former state.” (Ezekiel 16:55)

An example that those suffering the divine “age-during fire” is ‘not’ endless burning and is aimed toward “Restoration to a former state” in principle too.

(iv) In principle, one can be “saved by fire” as it’s the case with some believers first or some people as pointed to below:

“of each the work shall become manifest, for the day shall declare it, because in fire it is revealed, and the work of each, what kind it is, the fire shall prove;” (1 Corinthians 3:13)

“if of any the work is burned up, he shall suffer loss; and himself shall be saved, but so as through fire.” (1 Corinthians 3:15)

Notice that in these descriptive verses, the “works” are pointed too getting “utterly burned up” (not the spirit) in the age-during fire

(v) Again, what actually does His fire consume utterly?

Able to destroy “body & soul”, “flesh” and the “works”;

“‘And be not afraid of those killing the body, and are not able to kill the soul, but fear rather Him who is able both soul and body to destroy in gehenna.” (Matthew 10:28)

But is ‘existence’ utterly destroyed? “No” as I have never seen it mentioned in Scripture that “spirit” is “destroyed” by divine fire. More Interestingly, the “return of all spirit to God” and “saved in spirit state first” (prior to given body in its latter resurrection, “not” in the first resurrection meant for saints only) is found directly and/or in principle too in verses below after “punishment or destruction too”:

“Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.” (Ecclesiastes 12:7)

“I have decided to deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.” (1 Corinthians 5:5)

(vi) Has ‘spirits in prison’ ever been ‘preached to’ or possibly saved in the afterlife? Yes, as this mysterious set of verses point to that when it is read as it is written:

“in which also to the spirits in prison having gone He did preach,

who sometime disbelieved, when once the long-suffering of God did wait, in days of Noah — an ark being preparing — in which few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water;” (1 Peter 3:19 – 20)

This “spirits in prison” for “Judgement” in the afterlife and “only till” they “pay their their due in punishments” is mentioned in analogy agreeing to the above too by our Lord’s own parable itself as highlighted below:

““Make friends quickly with your opponent at law while you are with him on the way, so that your opponent may not hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the officer, and you be thrown into prison. “Truly I say to you, you will not come out of there until you have paid up the last cent.” (Matthew 5:25 – 26)

*Note: Just because they completed paying the punishments for their sins, they are “not” qualified to Heaven thereafter having “no” righteousness in them.

Only with Christ saving them thereafter, they can be saved too as UR verses relate to reconciliation, restoration & Salvation of All/world/creation.

(vii) Conclusion?

The verse below (1 Peter 4:6) when read & believed as it is points to summarise all the points above agreeing with other Universal Reconciliation verses too in Scripture where:

“For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.” (1 Peter 4:6)

(a) “Gospel is preached even to the dead” (it appears like this in Greek as it is in English too when translated as it is; the word ‘even’ here helps understand that the comparison is possibly with the general understanding that ‘Gospel is preached to the living generally’ though not mentioned like this;

but regardless, it still states “preached to the dead” and “not, for example, preached to them while living but now dead” as commonly ‘added’ in false interpretations)

(b) they “live To God” (according To God’s Will) in the “spirit” state agreeing To His Will to “Save the World” and “none perish” or “not delight in the destruction of the wicked too”.

The verse below mentions the understanding “for all live to Him” (“all”) as Christ quotes Abraham, Isaac, Jacob living (in verse 37) as an “example” and “not” the only ones aimed to “live to Him”.

That is, Christ mentions Abraham, Isaac & Jacob living to Him as an example of God of the living and mentions thereafter the hope that “All” (not believers only) will “live to Him” likewise without explaining further of the “how’s” at that time. We see dimly of this “how” from other Scriptures as explained briefly above too.

““Now He is not the God of the dead but of the living; for all live to Him.” (Luke 20:38)

(c) As we reflect back from all the above, we must ask,

“What is destroyed or could be destroyed in age-during fire of punishment/Judgment?”

Destroyed (or can be destroyed): works, body & soul

What can be “saved” beyond this punishment of age-during fire or prison? (post-Judgment) the “spirit”.

Thus “no” complete ceasing to exist or impossible to be saved thereafter can be understood when all these Scripture are rightly divided in His Blessed Words of Truth as found in Scripture correlating to the Universal Reconciliation doctrine.
