Christianity Imperfect – Perfect Christians?

A Common Remark

If Christians preach a God Who Forgives All eventually, then why aren’t they all-forgiving or perfect either (Matthew 5:48)?

“Therefore you are to be perfect, as your Heavenly Father is Perfect.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:48, NASB)

Reply:

Perfect Christians do “not” exist (verse in image in 1 John 1:8 testify to this Truth as well):

“For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate.

For the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want.” – apostle Paul (Romans 7:15, 19, NASB)

“But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 6:15, NASB)

“Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”

Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.” (Matthew 18:21 – 22, NASB)

Solution?

“Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?

Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin.” – apostle Paul (Romans 7:24 – 25, NASB)

Regarding Judging or Correcting others on earth, please consider this often “ignored” Biblical Command:

We are “only” allowed to “judge other Christians”:

“For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church?

But those who are outside, God judges. REMOVE THE WICKED MAN FROM AMONG YOURSELVES.” – apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 5:12 – 13, NASB)

Why?

“Iron sharpens iron, So one man sharpens another.” (Proverbs 27:17, NASB)

“let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.” – apostle James (James 5:20, NASB)

“Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.” – apostle Peter (1 Peter 4:8, NASB)

Conclusion —-> “His Mercy only”

“He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,” – apostle Paul (Titus 3:5, NASB)

“What then shall we say? Is there injustice with God? Never may it be!

For He [God] says to Moses:

“I will show mercy to whom I may show mercy,

and I will have compassion on whom I may have compassion.”

So then, it is not of the willing, nor of the running, but of God showing mercy.” – apostle Paul (Romans 9:14 – 16, BLB)

“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:7, NASB)

“I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” – Mahatma Gandhi

Regarding Lord Jesus Christ:

“A Man Who [Jesus] was Completely Innocent, offered Himself as a Sacrifice for the Good of Others, including His Enemies, and became the Ransom of the World. It was a Perfect Act.” – Mahatma Gandhi
