God’s Beautiful Purpose in Punishment

Restless Wicked

“There is no peace,” says the LORD, “for the wicked.” (Isaiah 48:22)

“But the wicked are like the troubled sea; for it cannot rest, and its waters cast up mire and dirt.” (Isaiah 57:20)

“There is no peace,” says my God, “for the wicked.” (Isaiah 57:21)

That’s a curse upon every wicked one against the LORD even into the afterlife… After your death, it may only be stopped (by God) when you’re reconciled (to Him) but not before the punishments for your sins (reaping what you sowed) till the ‘last penny’ is paid in “prison”.

Truly, examples:

“he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.

and the smoke of their torment doth go up to ages of ages; and they have no rest day and night, who are bowing before the beast and his image, also if any doth receive the mark of his name.” (Revelation 14:10 – 11)

“and the Devil, who is leading them astray, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where are the beast and the false prophet, and they shall be tormented day and night — to the ages of the ages.” (Revelation 20:10)

Till the ‘last penny’ (Justice – what is “right”):

“And why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right? make every effort to reconcile with your adversary while you are on your way to the magistrate.

Otherwise, he may drag you off to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and the officer may throw you into prison.

I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the very last penny.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 12: 57 – 59)

Many or few blows according to the severity of sin committed (‘righteous Judgment’ where punishment matches the crime —> NOT ‘never-ending’ NOR ‘endless’ beating though, sadistic & purposeless):

“The servant who knows the Master’s Will and does not get ready or does not do what the Master wants will be beaten with many blows.

But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows…” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 12:47 – 48)

Mystery of Christ:

He Will reconcile “all” things in the end though they may be ‘least’ in His kingdom (Love – what is “Perfect”):

“Whoever then breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:19)

“Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48)

P/S:

The deepest secret about ‘all’ God’s Punishments is that it is “redemptive” and ‘not retributive’ (on earth vs the afterlife, in fire be it in Hades, Gehenna or the Lake of Fire —> has One Purpose only —> Evil in you destroyed so that you may be ‘saved’, ‘reconciled’ & ‘restored’ thereafter by Him) as this verse clearly ‘reveals’:

“Beatings and wounds cleanse away evil, and floggings cleanse the innermost being.” (Proverbs 20:30)

To “Save” (the world):

“As for anyone who hears My words and does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 12:47)

To “Reconcile” (all, the world):

“and through Him (Lord Jesus) to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in the heavens” – apostle Paul (Colossians 1:20)

“namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their (the world’s) trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.” – apostle Paul (2 Corinthians 5:19)

To “Restore” (all):

“whom indeed it behooves heaven to receive (Lord Jesus Christ) until the times of restoration of all things, of which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from the age.” – apostle Peter in (Acts 3:21)

It’s just a matter of “Time”:

“That in the dispensation of the fullness of times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in the heavens, and which are on earth; even in Him:” – apostle Paul (Ephesians 1:10)

When “finally” (in the ‘end’ of all ages of God), it will come to pass (fulfilled) that:

“When all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that God may be all in all.” – apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 15:28)

That’s why it’s written that (Blessed be His Holy Name):

“We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.” – apostle John (1 John 4:14)
