1 Corinthians 13:13 where the word is found, the author (apostle Paul) wrote 1 Corinthians 14 next,

Try 1 Corinthians 14:34 (context) for a start.

Love only delights in “truth” (1 Corinthians 13:6, which includes proper doctrine) as the author of that verse (apostle Paul) himself demonstrated.

We “self abuse” ourselves by “our own disobedience” (Galatians 6:7, Isaiah 3:11, yes 1 Corinthians 14:37 – 38).

Can’t see it?

Afterlife Judgments is ‘we’ receiving ‘what we have done to others’ (matching our level of cruelty toward others, Isaiah 3:11) and that’s how ‘we reap what we have sowed first’ as God never allows any pain or punishment beyond which we ‘have done first toward others’ (Galatians 6:7) and thus the same way ‘some ignore the commands of the Lord’ (1 Corinthians 14:37), they ‘receive’ their ‘own ignoring back’ in the ‘afterlife’ (1 Corinthians 14:38) all ‘as it is written’.

God is The Genius. He Judges ‘Evil’ in the ‘afterlife’ by ‘Returning that Evil back’ —> to the ‘same’ person who ‘did that evil first toward others’. There is nothing unfair or unjust with this as we ‘only’ receive back ‘our own evil’.

If the punishment in ‘Hell’ (the afterlife punishment regions in Hades/Sheol) are ‘bad’, please remember that ‘these ones’ are ‘only’ receiving that ‘level of cruelty’ which they did to ‘others first’.

As once a person who went to Hell came back to life and testified,

“I had to re-live every murder & torture which I had committed not as the perpetrator but this time, as the “victim”.” (verses which agree to this ‘afterlife Hellish experience’ are such as Isaiah 3:11, Matthew 18:29 – 35, Matthew 5:26, Luke 12:46 – 48).

Thus, we need to be careful ‘how we treat other human beings’ for this is the ‘Law and the prophets’ (Matthew 7:12) or we will ‘receive’ it back in the afterlife (Galatians 6:7, Hebrews 9:27).

P/S: It doesn’t end there though

To ‘Overcome evil’ (Romans 12:21, after ‘Judging evil’ based on ‘its measure first’) —> God does the Incredible act of ‘Forgiving by His Mercy’ to ‘all’ eventually (Romans 11:30 – 32).

The Unfathomable Savior

In the “darkest hour in maximum pain” (beyond physical pain, ‘the sin of the Whole world upon Him’, He thought not of Himself but of His enemies, which is ‘all who sinned’ —> asking for “their Forgiveness”).

Thus this “Great Prayer” Will come to pass to “all who sinned” (the reason why He is on the Cross) —> and Mercy triumphs over Judgment (James 2:13) —> and the “World Saved” (1 John 4:14).
