Money or Love?

You usually have to pick one only (either money or love).

I began to understand ‘why’ God said that you either serve Him or ‘money’; also ‘why’ Christ instructed the rich young ruler to ‘sell all & give to the poor’ in order to be perfect.

Why?
The most difficult worldly thing for a man to give away is his money.

It is also true that most often, a man is only able to give away ‘most or all his money’ for the sake of ‘love’ for which he is almost certain to be utterly mocked:

World English Bible
Many waters can’t quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man would give all the wealth of his house for love, he would be utterly scorned. Friends

Young’s Literal Translation
Many waters are not able to quench the love, And floods do not wash it away. If one give all the wealth of his house for love, Treading down — they tread upon it.

Which verse?
(song of songs 8:7)

P/S:

Money buys “lust” but it cannot buy “love”.
