Mysteries – What if He answered it Parabolically?

The Dilemma

Some people have remarked that Christ’s Words in the Gospels toward ‘the people’ (excluding His Disciples) has been ‘difficult to understand’. Why is it so?

A Reply:

(i) Firstly, He did choose to answer the ‘general public’ in parables (mysteriously):

“And the disciples having approached, said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” (Matthew 13:10)

(ii) Why?

“Because of this I speak to them in parables:

‘Because seeing they do not see,
and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.’

And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, saying:

‘In hearing you will hear and never understand;
and in seeing you will see and never perceive.

For the heart of this people has grown dull,
and they barely hear with the ears,
and they have closed their eyes,
lest ever they should see with the eyes,
and they should hear with the ears,
and they should understand with the heart,
and should turn,
and I will heal them.’ – (Matthew 13:13 – 15)

*Thus it is implied that God doesn’t want to ‘Heal them’ (verse 15) before their ‘time’. Those who can ‘understand’ are ‘believers’ who are ‘chosen’ to be ‘healed’ first.

“And answering He said to them, “Because it has been granted to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of the heavens, but to them it has not been granted.

For whoever has, to him will be given, and he will be in abundance. And whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.” (Matthew 13:11 -12)

(iii) Does it mean that ‘Salvation’ of ‘all things’ is impossible?

No!

Verses:

“When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, “Then who can be saved?”

And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:25 – 26)

(iv) Analysis of Context

Please Consider closely the verses quoted above as follows:

The Question:
“Who then can be saved?” (Matthew 19:25)

His Grand Answer:
“With men it is impossible” & “with God all things are possible”

(v) Mystery

What if —> Christ replied ‘parabolically’ —> and thus, we ‘connect both’ the ‘words’ found in the Question and His Beautiful Reply to see the following:

“Who then can be saved?” + “With men it is impossible” = “With men it is impossible for them to be saved (by ‘men’s acts only’)”

And also,

“Who then can be saved?” + “with God all things are possible” = “God can Save all things (not men only; literally, “All”)”

Isn’t it agreeing with the “all things” verses “mysteriously”? Such as Colossians 1:16-20, Ephesians 1:8-10 & even the subset of “All men” verses too! (Titus 2:11, 1 Timothy 2:4, 1 Timothy 4:10)

**The Mystery part discussed above is just an ‘interesting way’ to see His Reply “parabolically” too.
