Shalom

‘Shalom’ means ‘Peace’ NOT ‘money-prosperity’.

As Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled this Promise too when He said,

“Peace I leave with you; My Peace (Eirēnēn in Greek) I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:27)

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of Peace (Shalom), and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

P/S:

Our result is at the ‘expected end‘ (no matter what sufferings including horrible deaths which we may face in this ‘temporal life’ —> at the ‘expected end’, we live with Him even reaping the reward of age-during life in the coming age).

These verses were ‘never’ referring to ‘earthly money laden prosperity’ as often quoted (wrongly) by ‘prosperity gospel preachers’ missing the point meant for these verses entirely (read it for yourself, it’s plain in English too).

In short, God didn’t lie; men did when they handled His Word falsely to mean ‘something else’.
