The Greatest Thing in Life – Knowing & Understanding God

A Verse:

“For wisdom is better than jewels; And all desirable things cannot compare with her.” (Proverbs 8:11, NASB)

Which type of Wisdom? Wisdom to know about What Topic?

A Life’s Best Conclusion

“Thus says the LORD, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he UNDERSTANDS and KNOWS Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the LORD.” (Jeremiah 9:23 – 24, NASB)

Both UNDERSTANDING and KNOWING God is Important and we can only do that through His Word first.

P/S:

“And He said, “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is in parables, so that SEEING THEY MAY NOT SEE, AND HEARING THEY MAY NOT UNDERSTAND.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 8:10, NASB)

Is God Fair in this?

Our level of KNOWING and UNDERSTANDING Him is Proportional to our OBEDIENCE (vs Rebellion or Disobedience) as the Verse below points to this Truth as one of the Requirement:

“Son of man, you live in the midst of the rebellious house, who have eyes to see but do not see, ears to hear but do not hear; for they are a rebellious house.” (Ezekiel 12:2, NASB)

NO Lawlessness is to be supported NOR condoned by Christians.

Example:

“Samuel said,

“Has the LORD as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices

As in obeying the voice of the LORD?

Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,

And to heed than the fat of rams.” (1 Samuel 15:22, NASB)

As prophet Samuel himself gives this SAME Biblical Conclusion in the next (consecutive) Verse too (Context):

“For rebellion is as the sin of divination,

And insubordination is as iniquity and idolatry.

Because you have rejected the word of the LORD,

He has also rejected you from being king.” (1 Samuel 15:23, NASB)

‘We are usually more worse a sinner than we dare admit of ourselves’

“There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.” (Proverbs 14:12, NASB)

“Every man’s way is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts.” (Proverbs 21:2, NASB)

May God have Mercy upon us!

An Earthly Help (Mirror, Shadow):

“If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.” – apostle James (James 2:15 – 17, NASB)

Lord Jesus Christ Helps SAVE them in the afterlife too (Actual, Truth) in its OWN Divinely Appointed Times for this (1 Timothy 2:6, 1 John 2:2) when His Mercy Triumphs and Ends any afterlife Judgment Sentence which may be endured first for some (James 2:13) as ‘they reap what they have sown first in afterlife Judgments’ (Galatians 6:7, Isaiah 3:11):

We help some in this life, Lord Jesus Christ Saves from Hell even in the afterlife.

Example Verses for Christ Saving in the Afterlife?

1 Peter 3:19 – 20.

1 Peter 4:5 – 6.

These Verses from a more accurate literal translation:

“because Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, so that He might bring you to God, having been put to death indeed in the flesh, but having been made alive in the spirit, in which also having gone, He preached to the spirits in prison at one time having disobeyed, when the longsuffering of God was waiting in the days of Noah,” – apostle Peter (1 Peter 3:18 – 20, BLB)

“With respect to this, they think it strange of you not running with them into the same overflow of debauchery, speaking evil of you, who will give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. For to this end the gospel was proclaimed even to the dead, so that they might be judged indeed according to men in the flesh, but they might live in the spirit according to God.” – apostle Peter (1 Peter 4:4 – 6, BLB)

As it was Prophesied Majestically from Ancient Times itself that Christ (God Himself will Do this, implied) in Verse below, understood retrospectively (that God will also Save those who after they DIE and get BANISHED in afterlife punishments —> may NOT REMAIN BANISHED in those afterlife punishments ‘forever’):

“We will certainly DIE and be like water poured out on the ground, which can’t be recovered. But God would NOT take away a life; HE [God] would devise plans so that THE ONE BANISHED from HIM [God] does NOT REMAIN BANISHED.” – Wise woman of Tekoa (2 Samuel 14:14, CSB)

Please note these words or phrases carefully in last Verse above: DIE, —> THE ONE BANISHED from HIM —-> does NOT REMAIN BANISHED.

“and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole World.” – apostle John (1 John 2:2, NASB)

“We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the World.” – apostle John (1 John 4:14, NASB)
