Twice the Son of Hell

Right doctrine is important in Preaching & Proselytising without which it may all be in vain as the following verses imply:

(i) Let’s get His Doctrine right

““How is it that you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread? But beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

Then they understood that He did not say to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 16:11 – 12)

(ii) Proselytising or Converting with inaccurate doctrines may make one ‘twice the Son of Hell’:

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you travel around on sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 23:15)

(iii) Doing the right things rightly as per the “Law” (not lawlessness but following His Commands) is instructed in Scripture; otherwise, we (“Christians” who ‘call Him Lord’ despite our ‘Great gifts, works’) get ‘rejected’ too:

“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness.’” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:22 – 23)

Let us note that it’s “many” (Christians) who will get ‘rejected’ for the reason in the verses above.

Also, only after saying that our Blessed Saviour speaks the verses below which mean that by “listening & obeying His Word” (as opposed to ‘lawlessness’ ways of man), we may become a ‘wise man’:

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell, the torrents raged, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because its foundation was on the rock.

But everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.

The rain fell, the torrents raged, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell—and great was its collapse!” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:24 – 27)

(iv) The Good works, conversion or preaching when wrong as per the Pharisees though directed to YHWH (even when they did acknowledge Yahweh as God) isn’t enough to ‘enter the kingdom of heaven’:

“For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:20)

(v) The ‘rejection’ is for the “age” (time period: age-during life for the righteous & age-during punishment-pruning for the wicked):

“‘And these shall go away to punishment age-during, but the righteous to life age-during.'” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 25:46)

“I say to you that many will come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven;

but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 8:11 – 12)

(vi) The ‘rejection’ is “not forever” but to that “age” only (in Hell) since the ‘general conclusion’ that even one who ‘breaks His Commands & teaches others to do so (lawlessness)’ will eventually be in ‘His Kingdom’ as this “Mystery” (or Secret) about God’s Perfection as “He Saves or reconciles all things” will be fulfilled in those times accordingly:

“So then, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:19)

“It is a trustworthy statement deserving full acceptance.

For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers.

Prescribe and teach these things.” – apostle Paul (1 Timothy 4:9 – 12)

“and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in the heavens.” – apostle Paul (Colossians 1:20)

Colossians Chapter 1 reveals some of these “mysteries” (of Christ) to “Reconcile all things” as per verse above to the fact that “Christ in you (believers), the hope of glory” as per verses below too! :

“Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;

Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to His saints:

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:” – apostle Paul (Colossians 1:25 – 27)

“Let a man regard us in this manner, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.” – apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 4:1)

“be diligent to present thyself approved to God — a workman irreproachable, rightly dividing the word of the truth;” – apostle Paul (2 Timothy 2:15)
