The Ancient Quest for Eternal Life

Before that, who are we on the Inside?

“I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds.” (Jeremiah 17:10)

“and a sword will pierce even your own soul– to the end that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed.” (Luke 2:35)

Questions which may help reveal our Deepest Characters are stated below:

Other equivalent phrases to the one in picture?

(i) “What we would do” if there was no Hell at all proves our true character (not a true statement because Hell exists but for argument’s sake).

(ii) Similarly, “What we would do” if we knew the truth that Hell is not eternal but to the age proves our true character (true statement).

(iii) “Would we continue to serve God” If we knew that “Hell is not eternal”? Or is it because “we are going to an eternal heaven” makes it nice for us since we would serve God only because we gain much in this life & the next? (true statement)

(iv) If our enemies and others eventually get saved by Lord Jesus from Hell, would it lessen our zeal to serve God? (E.g. As Satan asked God regarding Job, ‘does Job fear God for nothing’? Meaning, doesn’t Job serve God because he is ‘going to get blessings & life’ & by ‘removing it or giving it equal to others’, would it lessen Job’s zeal?) (true statement)

(v) Would we be angry at God if He Saves from Hell the ones remaining in ‘death’ and comes home ‘alive’ one day as per another interpretation of the parable of the prodigal son?

Would we be ‘angry’ like the ‘faithful elder brother’ because the ‘younger brother who enjoyed harlots & other vices’ after spending time in punishment of suffering for his sins eventually gets welcomed home by the Father?

Would we be ‘angry’ because ‘we never enjoyed those sins’ while the ‘younger brother’ who ‘enjoyed it’ gets welcomed Home eventually?

Conclusion:

It helps explain ‘why’ we choose to ‘believe what we believe’. God’s Perfect Character has ‘no’ jealousy except the ‘good jealousy’ to ‘Save the World’.

That’s ‘why’ it’s True that God alone is Perfect. Our imperfections are shown by the ‘things we believe’ even in regards to ‘if we would behave differently in each scenario described above’.

We all ‘only seek God’ to ‘gain something from Him’ (E.g. Eternal life) and ‘we don’t want others who enjoy sin more to ever get the promises which we want for ourselves only especially in regards to the afterlife’ (that’s how ‘insincere our faiths really are’).

Thus, it is true (as written below, the prophets testify to this same truth) that there is “None” who “Seek God” (in the absolute perfect intention to just gain Him without the condition of ‘receiving eternal life or prosperity on earth’):

“There is no one who understands; no one who seeks God.” (Romans 3:11)

“The LORD has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God.

They have all turned aside, together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, not even one.” (Psalm 14:2 – 3)

All hope is not lost.

One has prevailed, and He is God Himself Who came as Man, Jesus Christ the Blessed Messiah. He is the ‘Worthy, Lion of Judah’ to ‘fulfill everything written in His Holy Word’.

“And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the book or to look into it.

Then I began to weep greatly because no one was found worthy to open the book or to look into it; and one of the elders said to me, “Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals.”” (Revelation 5:3 – 5)

Why Lord Jesus Christ?
He never gains anything new/more which He already had in the “Beginning” by coming down from Heaven to die on the cross for the ‘sin of the Whole World’.

“Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 17:5)

He did it out of the only Selfless Agape Love to gives us all Heaven which will be fulfilled into the Ages which are coming.

“so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:7)

“and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in the heavens.” (Colossians 1:20)

“When all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that God may be all in all.” (1 Corinthians 15:28)

He knows No Failure because God is Love & His Love never Fails. Once He loved the world to save it, it’s now immutable by His Will that He Will save it, which takes time to come to pass but as He Himself declared from His Cross, “It is Finished”. Blessed Saviour of the World!

“Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.” (1 Corinthians 13:8)

“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due times.” (1 Timothy 2:3 – 6)

“It is a trustworthy statement deserving full acceptance. For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers. Prescribe and teach these things.” (1 Timothy 4:9 – 11)

“We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.” (1 John 4:14)

“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29)

“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” (1 John 4:10)

“and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.” (1 John 2:2)

“All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations will worship before You.

For the kingdom is the LORD’S and He rules over the nations.

All the prosperous of the earth will eat and worship, all those who go down to the dust will bow before Him, even he who cannot keep his soul alive.” (Psalm 22:27 – 29)

“We will certainly die and be like water poured out on the ground, which can’t be recovered. But God would not take away a life; He would devise plans so that the one banished from Him does not remain banished.” (2 Samuel 14:14)

“It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.” (Proverbs 25:2)

“Should I worship Him from fear of hell, may I be cast into it. Should I serve Him from desire of gaining heaven, may He keep me out. But should I worship Him from love alone, He reveals Himself to me, that my whole heart may be filled with His love and presence.” – Sadhu Sundar Singh
