The Bible warns in truth that the false prophets as well as false christs will deceive with lying “signs and wonders” and “not” with “knowledge and wisdom”.
Here are some verses, literally:
“For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” (Matthew 24:24)
“The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie,” (2 Thessalonians 2:9)
“For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie” (2 Thessalonians 2:11)
Be prepared if you follow after “signs & wonders”:
“13And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people. 14Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. ” (Revelation 13:13 – 14)
It was given “power” to overcome “true believers” (God’s Holy people):
“It was given power to wage war against God’s holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.” (Revelation 13:7)
It may be that some of the “true believers” may have to go into “captivity” or “be killed” calling for “their faithfulness and patience” to “endure it”.
“If anyone is to go into captivity,
into captivity they will go.
If anyone is to be killed with the sword,
with the sword they will be killed.”
This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God’s people.” (Revelation 13:10)
This is what happened to God’s people when they “rejected knowledge”:
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” (Hosea 4:6)
Why do they seek a “sign” instead of just believing “His Word” as it is written?
“An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” So He left them and departed.” (Matthew 16:4)
How do we know who’s telling the truth?
“See, I have told you ahead of time (by His Word and not the opinions nor interpretations of men).” (Matthew 24:25)
