Jewish FAQ – A Classic

(i) Question 1

If Jesus was a Jew, why are believers called Christians instead of believers ‘only’ or Nazarene or Jewish?

Reply 1:

Despite ‘pagan roots to the name Christian itself, pre-dating Christianity too’, the Lord has approved the term ‘Christian’ through the ‘apostle of the Jews, apostle Peter himself’ in verse below:

So, I will stick to apostle Paul & Peter’s writings over any Jewish Rabbis, anytime.

(ii) Question 2

If the Messiah was a Jew then why are y’all Christian (and not Jewish)?

Reply 2:

Because the Messiah Saves beyond Israel ‘only’ and such facts were ‘not revealed to the sons of men (e.g. the Torah) earlier’:

(iii) Question 3

Was the Messiah a Jew and did he keep and teach Torah?

Reply 3:

Yes, the Messiah kept the Torah. Regarding the New Covenant, Torah Keeping is allowed for the Jews but not all of it for the Gentiles as New Testament Scripture details; Please consider the write-ups below if you’re interested in the answer (thank you for reading):

(iv) Question 4

And all of His students surely quoted the Tanakh and Torah correct?

Reply 4:

Yes and ‘way beyond that too’ as ‘new things’ only came to light under the New Testament (Ephesians 3:5 – 6, Colossians 1:26) which is revealed through the ordained apostles of Christ as found in New Testament writing.

(v) Question 5

Wait, so you were only taught the end of a book?

Reply 5:

You’re only taught the start of the book.

The end of the book explains how to understand the start of the book during the New Covenant age and ‘beyond that too’.

(vi) Question 6

You got it wrong and I know the whole book from start to finish.

Reply 6:

Let’s see in the afterlife who got it wrong; let’s not jump ahead (Matthew 8:12). Regarding being against apostle Paul’s writings, here are few verses for you (you may Google it yourself, Romans 2:16 & 1 Corinthians 14:38, 1 Thessalonians 4:2). You are not fighting me but apostle Paul himself for he was ordained to deliver these ‘commands of the Lord’ (1 Corinthians 14:37). Let’s see if God approves you or apostle Paul’s understanding of the Torah & beyond.

(vii) Question 7

I was reference to the lost so many times I should have just read the law. That would be the Jew thing to do. Sounds like a Jew to me. Furthermore your Patriarchs send you to go read the Tanakh which houses the law yet you claim this is Christianity? Keeping the laws of a Jew book? But claiming to be something else?  Your pastors suck. No understanding or wisdom just empty knowledge. Praise Yahweh for understand. Jeremiah 31:31 – 31:34
But this [shall be] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Notice he said write his law’s in YOUR heart? Where do you find his law’s? At the start right? You know that old testament that’s been done away.

Reply 7:

The New Covenant is “NOT” like the one made before (it’s different, there’s change in the ‘commandments too as God Willed it such’, Hebrews 7:18 & Hebrews 7:12) as the verse below clearly points (and your point of re-iterating the Torah without change does NOT hold):

“not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD.” (Jeremiah 31:32, NASB)

Some New Testament verses for edification regarding this aspect (the Authority is the New Testament Scripture):

“For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also.” (Hebrew 7:8, NASB)

“For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion sought for a second.” (Hebrews 8:7, NASB)

“For, on the one hand, there is a setting aside of a former commandment because of its weakness and uselessness” (Hebrews 7:18, NASB)

Yes, the remaining things of the Old Covenant will eventually ‘disappear’ too as He Himself declares in verse below simply because His Covenants are ‘to the age till its fulfilment (not forever, and thus your arguments of extending or applying verses out of that context contradicting the Book of Hebrews is irrelevant; In fact, only the New Testament quoting of the Law is valid as God appointed the apostles to decide that & we must strive to obey it as it is written, e,g. Acts 15:29, Acts 21:24 – 25):

“When He said, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear.” (Hebrews 8:13, NASB)

Question 8

Isn’t it hard to determine what apostle Paul meant especially in regards to keeping the Torah?

Reply 8:

Sorry but I will stick to apostle Paul’s writings over any new updates or other Rabbis which you may choose to follow (a free world indeed).
Thank you sir, & please try this link too for comparison in exegesis regarding this matter & we may decide for ourselves which is right, cheers

Question 9

Christians should call themselves Paulians NOT Christians because they always maintain that the Tanakh and anything Jewish is outdated and that the new testament is the word of G_d thus valid. The NT was predominantly Paul’s ideas not even of Christ they claim to follow.

Thus, why does some Christianity follow apostle Paul’s opinions and not stick to all that’s written in the Torah? And what about the new denominations of Christianity which even contradicts the commands which apostle Paul taught?

Isn’t apostle Paul’s commands in the New Testament out of date by that logic?

Reply 9:

Firstly, Whose Commands” did apostle Paul write (please refer to answer in image)?

When apostle Paul writes ‘his own opinion, he mentions it clearly’ & at other times, it is the inspired writing by the command of the Lord (example 1 Corinthians 7:12).
Apostle Paul was ordained by God as the ‘apostle to the Gentiles (and not the local Corinthians church only)’ meaning that his inspired writings apply to ‘every Gentile believer’ and we will be ‘judged according to the Gospel delivered to apostle Paul’ (Romans 2:16).

Example: Jewish believers may practice the parts of the Law of Moses (which does not contradict New Testament Scripture, Acts 21:24) while Gentile believers need not go beyond the four things (Acts 21:25 & Acts 15:29). Regarding this and the 10 Commandments, please consider:

https://www.anonymouschristian.org/blog/twin-error-law-moses/

https://www.anonymouschristian.org/blog/how-about-the-10-commandments/

Our duty ‘as Man’ is to ‘obey’ (‘keep’) the ‘Commands of God’ (‘His Commandments’) which pertain to us and NOT twist-change-teach against what’s been ‘approved by God according to a Covenant’.

What is the Conclusion? (no other Scriptural conclusions exist):

“The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person.” (Ecclesiastes 12:13, NASB)

P/S:
Question 10

You are a baby sheep. Matthew 5:17-20 King James Version (KJV) Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. Where is the authority if not the Torah?

Reply 10:

Baby sheep 🙂 [Matthew 11:25, verse in image]

Authority is given by God and not by the Torah.

The verses you quoted speak about Him fulfilling the Torah, not you & I. Our obedience to the Torah is Covenant based (Acts 21:24 – 25) and not all of it in ‘this New Covenant age’ (Hebrews 7:8, Hebrews 8:7, Hebrews 7:18, Hebrews 8:13) which also explains the part of Torah done away because it has been fulfilled by Christ! (example, the sacrifices for sin are no more since, He has offered up Himself once for all).

Jesus is God, that’s a different story which may be found in link below too (explaining this Great Mystery of Godliness with verses, yes, we see dimly only):
