Judging Evil and Overcoming Evil
“If God allowed evil to exist & to be carried out FIRST, then He certainly allows equal Judgment of evil back toward it, on earth or in Hell or both (Galatians 6:7, Isaiah 3:11)” – Anonymous
Example: If God allowed the innocent children of the righteous to be smashed upon the rocks, there is nothing confusing about God allowing the less innocent* children of the wicked to be smashed upon the rocks too.
Hence, God commanded such Judgment against Evil during Old Testament times according to ‘the choice’ of the “victims” whose blood & families demanded “such equal evil Judgment upon their enemies likewise & was granted”.
If any “victim’s innocent blood” Truly did not seek any Revenge of God by absolute Forgiveness, it may be granted too but we see that even the blood of Abel cried out Revenge from the ground (Genesis 4:10). Further, in Hebrews it’s mentioned that ONLY the SINLESS BLOOD of Lord Jesus Christ cried out (“the Better Word”, Hebrews 12:24) Absolute Forgiveness for All sin in the World without Revenge at all & thus makes the Reconciliation of All things in the “End” as a certainty at those times ‘overcoming Judgment’ too as ‘Mercy triumphs over Judgment’ as ‘it is written’ even to the one who has shown no mercy’ (full context implied in James 2:13). Other verses testifying to this ‘Mystery of Secret of Christ’ are (e.g. Colossians 1:20, 1 Peter 4:5 – 6, 1 Corinthians 15:28).
God’s Anger & Wrath is Revealed against all unrighteousness (Romans 1:18, Colossians 3:6) & He only Avenges the blood of relatively more innocent men who became the victims of evil on earth & NO Scripture says that He Avenges for His Blessed Son’s Ultimate Sacrifice on His Cross (these are distinct and clearly mentioned/implied in Holy Scripture, Jeremiah 6:11, Luke 18:8, Revelation 6:10, Matthew 23:35 vs Luke 23:34).
However, such Judgment is rare on earth & is NOT permitted under the current New Covenant age. It was allowed during Old Testament times.
How about Forgiveness?
God Forgives when He “Overcomes” evil and not when He “Judges” evil (these are distinct). This is when evil finds its end in the Goodness of God, meaning of “overcoming evil with good” (Romans 12:21, Matthew 5:44).
On earth, we are to Forgive, meaning to participate in the overcoming evil by good .
However, if the evildoers do not repent, the Wrath of God awaits them in “Hell” for sure “next”, in the “afterlife” (Matthew 18:34 – 35, Luke 12:46 – 48) for they must “receive the pain & evil which they did in their lives first, being returned back to them” (Psalm 9:16 – 17, 2 Thessalonians 1:6).
FAQ:
(i) Let us remember solemnly:
“It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” (Hebrews 10:31, NASB)
(ii) Let us not be “deceived” by the “LAWLESSNESS” and ‘justifying of the wicked’ while they ‘remain unrepentant’:
“Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,” (2 Thessalonians 2:3, NASB)
“He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous, Both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD.” (Proverbs 17:15, NASB)
(iii) But isn’t it written that ‘God justifies the ungodly’?
It is written that God justifies the ungodly but with NOT without judging them first as 1 Peter 4:5 – 6 reveals further when seen with the verse below:
“But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness,” (Romans 4:5, NASB)
“but they will give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
For the gospel has for this purpose been preached even to those who are dead, that though they are judged in the flesh as men, they may live in the spirit according to the will of God.” (1 Peter 4:5 – 6, NASB)
Where,
Judgment FIRST of the dead = “though they are judged in the flesh as men”
Justifying of the such ungodly dead men LATER = “they may live in the spirit according to the will of God”
That’s a “Reason” as to ‘why’ the Gospel is ‘Preached to the Dead’ = “For the gospel has for this purpose been preached even to those who are dead”
The “dead” in 1 Peter 4:6 is the SAME DEAD as the “dead” mentioned in 1 Peter 4:5 (immediate subsequent verses, CONTEXT), i.e. ‘physically dead & moved on into the afterlife’. Being a ‘Mystery’, such verses are RARE and NOT revealed easily in Scripture.
Only “those believing” & “those hearing CHRIST’s WORD” are promised to be ‘justified’ WITHOUT Judgment:
“‘Verily, verily, I say to you — He who is hearing My Word, and is believing Him who sent me, hath life age-during, and to Judgment he doth not come, but hath passed out of the death to the life.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 5:24, YLT)
(iv) How long will God be angry?
As long as we don’t repent from our OWN evil ways & turn toward Good, example Scripture:
“Men were scorched with fierce heat; and they blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and they did not repent so as to give Him glory.” (Revelation 16:9, NASB)
(v) Why is God Angry?
Due to our OWN sins of which we do NOT want to repent of.
“But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,” (Romans 2:5, NASB)
(vi) The only Way out of God’s Wrath is Lord Jesus Christ
“and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come.” (1 Thessalonians 1:10, NASB)
