Literal Apologetics on “living soul”

Objector:

What is a soul according to the Bible?
The LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (Gen 2:7). Yes, Adam became a living soul. He did not possess a soul. Rather he himself was the soul. And souls have blood(Jeremiah 2:34). Souls can be touched, and killed (Joshua 11:11). Men do not have some entity called a soul living within them. Rather, as the Bible says, men are the souls. The distress signal ‘SOS – Save our Souls’ means ‘Save us’, not ‘Save something that’s living within us’.

Simple:

Men, as Adam are “living souls”.
As I mentioned prior, a “living soul” means a “soul” which “lives” in a “body” and hence, it can be touched or killed or have blood because these account to the “soul being attached to the body” (being alive). That’s all.

Even an animal is said to be a living soul. Check out the creation story. Look up the word for soul in biblehub.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 clearly distinguishes “body”, “soul” and “spirit” meaning though they “may” overlap on some grounds these refer to some “unique” characteristics even if it’s not literally defined in Scripture what these are.

“23May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 5:23)

Animals having a soul is not a problem with me at all since it’s will and attachments are limited & different to that of a man.

A soul living in an earthly body = living soul; and because the soul has a body now, living in it, it has blood and is touched with respect to the “body” (5 senses). The soul being killed means that “it no longer lives in that body”.

Do you support the serpent Jonathan Ramachandran?
Genesis 3:4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman.

Jonathan Ramachandran

No, I don’t support the serpent.

They “die” (after the first death = soul leaving the body), it continues to “die” (in Hades; Gehenna) eventually undergoing the “second death” (in the Lake of Fire) as God said, “the soul that sinneth shall die”.

However, when Christ destroys “death” itself (the last enemy, even the second death), these ones too will be “saved” by “Lord Jesus Christ alone” as a result of the Work at His Cross.
