Renewal – The Opposite Rising

The Bible is full of examples of people whose “greatest weaknesses” became their “greatest strength” after their “encounter with God”:

For example, after “encountering God”,

(1) The Courageous Heart

Gideon was a coward but later became a brave warrior once even winning with only “300” men:

“The LORD said to Gideon, “I will deliver you with the 300 men who lapped and will give the Midianites into your hands; so let all the other people go, each man to his home.” (Judges 7:7)

(2) The Obedient Heart

Moses couldn’t speak boldly but he would deliver the Ten Commandments and even stood up against the Pharaoh of Egypt:

“Then the LORD said to Moses, “See, I make you as God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron shall be your prophet.” (Exodus 7:1)

(3) The Loving Heart

King David lost his “loyalty” and “trust” when He fell into “adultery” (lust) but he ‘came back’ —-> with “loyalty & trust” as his strength full of “Love” now till he remains the only one in Scripture said to have the “heart after God”:

“After He (God) had removed him (king Saul), He raised up David to be their king, concerning whom He also testified and said, ‘I HAVE FOUND DAVID the son of Jesse, A MAN AFTER MY HEART, who will do all My will.’ (Acts 13:22)

So, even “after a fall”, God can change a ‘chosen person’ to be “exactly the opposite” where his ‘greatest weakness’ (e.g. breaking loyalty) is changed by His divine intervention to become his ‘greatest strength’ (e.g. “one most loyal”) even with a ‘heart after Him’ like David.

This is a thought worth pondering and the changing is not by our efforts in the flesh but by God moving His Spirit in us to bring about that permanent Renewal.
