Simple Meanings with No Twisting – What is the meaning of Apostle to the Gentiles?

‘Let there be Scripture stating what you claim; If not, it is better for you to keep quiet’ – Anonymous

“For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 12:37, NASB)

We see that Scripture records apostle Paul commissioned as the ‘apostle to the Gentiles’. Verses ‘as it is written’ first, please consider:

“But I am speaking to you who are Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle of Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,” – apostle Paul (Romans 11:13, NASB)

“(for He who effectually worked for Peter in his apostleship to the circumcised effectually worked for me also to the Gentiles),” – apostle Paul (Galatians 2:8, NASB)

What does this mean?

Firstly, the analogy is clearly drawn in the last verse above implying that just like ‘Commands, Teachings, Traditions and Doctrines delivered by the Lord through apostle Peter applies to ALL believing Jews under the New Covenant’, similarly ‘Doctrines, Teachings, Commands and Traditions delivered by the Lord through apostle Paul applies to ALL believing Gentiles’ (e.g. Titus 1:1 & Titus 1:3). Only then we become a ‘true son of the Faith’ (Titus 1:4). It’s as simple as that (2 Peter 3:15 – 16).

P/S:

The ‘Lawless Path’ Danger (please consider seriously & be let us be wise’, Matthew 7:21 – 23, Matthew 7:13 – 14):

Why do we choose to follow after modern church doctrines which sometimes teach contrary to what is written and can God’s Laws change with respect to human culture, time, linguistics, history etc. (Romans 2:11) as the Bible scholars who teach otherwise prove their exegesis using such man-made methodology but with absolutely NO verse ‘stating literally what they teach’ making it the ‘teachings and commandments of men’ (no matter how many years in history it was practiced) in analogy, of which the Pharisees too were guilty of in the past? (Luke 16:15, Matthew 15:9, Colossians 2:4, Colossians 2:8, Colossians 2:18).

Does everything taught in the New Testament ‘require’ or ‘must’ have an Old Testament verse?

Not necessarily as it is with regards to the ‘Mystery of Christ’ especially in the Context of Universal Reconciliation in Christ (Colossians 1:20), Scripture allows ‘new things’ to be revealed which was NOT revealed to the ‘sons of men earlier’ but is NOW (during the time of apostle Paul) revealed to ‘His saints’ (chiefly, apostle Paul himself) from whom we have learnt (Colossians 1:26).

This Mystery (or Secret) of God Restoring ‘All things’ eventually (and not Israel only) was known to ‘ALL His Prophets’ (Amos 3:7) though they may NOT all have WRITTEN it down but ALL of them certainly SPOKE with their MOUTHS regarding it in the past too as ‘it is written’! (Acts 3:21).

However, this is NOT a license in Scripture to ‘invent new teachings as we wish’. For example, I dare NOT say that there are ‘New Commands’ or ‘New Teachings’ CONTRARY to ‘what is written FIRST in Holy Scripture’s New Testament writings too’. We are to AVOID Jewish FABLES from ‘claims NOT written in Old Testament Scripture’ (e.g. Satan is God’s left hand claim which is WRONG, John 10:10, John 8:44, 1 John 3:8) and others especially those that CONTRADICT New Testament exegesis too (1 Timothy 4:7, Titus 1:10 – 11, 2 Timothy 4:4, 1 Timothy 1:4).

In fact, the verses quoted teach exactly the OPPOSITE to ‘what they have claimed’. Between the two, I would rather choose the verses which apostle Paul wrote (Titus 1:14). Yes, we are called to ‘judge’ (1 Corinthians 5:12, e.g. 1 Corinthians 5:11) and ‘rebuke’ (Titus 1:13) other ‘Christians ONLY’ as ‘NO judging of unbelievers is allowed! So often, the opposite is done by Christians, causing ‘Lawlessness’ in this aspect too! (1 Corinthians 5: 12, e.g. 1 Corinthians 5:9 – 10).

It means that whatever the Blessed Lord gave as Commands (1 Corinthians 14:37) or as Traditions (1 Corinthians 11:1 – 2, 1 Thessalonians 4:1 – 2) or as Exegesis in Scripture (e.g. Romans 1 – 11, Colossians 1:20) even with regards to the ‘law for the Gentiles’ (Acts 15:29, Book of Galatians) —–> Here is the ‘Meaning’ ——> It applies to ALL Gentile Believers!

Yes, the commands, traditions and exegesis of Scripture as delivered to our beloved apostle Paul applies to ALL Gentile believers under the New Covenant! (Hence, the title ‘apostle to the Gentiles’ is given by the Lord Himself to apostle Paul with regards to the details of the Gospel, Galatians 1:10 – 12, John 16:12).

God is NO respecter of human culture, linguistics or even human history (to cancel, adapt or change ‘ANY’ of His Laws to the Gentiles, Romans 2:11) and thus ALL that apostle Paul delivered in his writings (1 Corinthians 14:37) applies to ALL Gentile Believers under the New Covenant regardless if we ‘don’t know about it’ or if we ‘refuse to obey’ it (2 Thessalonians 1:8, Romans 2:16).

The warnings in Scripture which apostle Paul wrote sometimes just after mentioning seemingly ‘not-so-important commands’ (e.g.1 Corinthians 14, 1 Thessalonians 4:1 – 2) are ‘pretty serious’ (1 Corinthians 14:38, 1 Thessalonians 4:8) and further, the warning against following after ‘men’s commands’ (Colossians 2:4, Colossians 2:8, Colossians 2:20 – 23) instead of ‘God’s Commands’ (1 Corinthians 14:37) is ‘seriously rebuked too’ (Colossians 2:18).

Let us remember that ‘apostle Paul’ is ‘sent by the Wisdom of God’ to the ‘Gentiles’ and thus his writings are ALL applicable to ANY Gentile believer:

“For this reason also the Wisdom of God said, ‘I will send to them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and some they will persecute,” – Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 11:49, NASB)

It does NOT matter whether such as these against Scripture ‘win on earth’ simply because in the ‘end’, God ‘Will Win’ with ‘His Words’ & ‘His Judgments’:

“Absolutely not! Let God be true and every man a liar. As it is written: “So that You (God) may be justified in Your words, and prevail in Your judgments.” (Romans 3:4, BSB)

Yes, God Will ‘Destroy’ (make to ‘perish’) all their wisdom which was ‘against His Word’ too:

“Therefore, lo, I am adding to do wonderfully with this people, A wonder, and a marvel, And perished hath the wisdom of its wise ones, And the understanding of its intelligent ones hideth itself.'” (Isaiah 29:14, YLT)

And, bring all ‘human wisdom & intelligence’ to NOTHING (an equal and fair Judgment simply because on earth, these men tried to make God’s Wisdom & Laws as ‘nothing’, a fitting ‘end’ in ‘Judgment’ indeed as they did ‘first’, it will be repaid back accordingly, Galatians 6:7), all ‘as it is written’:

“for it hath been written, ‘I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the intelligence of the intelligent I will bring to nought (nothing);'” – God in (1 Corinthians 1:19, YLT)

Because:

“There is no wisdom and no understanding And no counsel against the LORD.” (Proverbs 21:30, NASB)
