The True God

“God hath stood in the congregation of gods: and being in the midst of them He judgeth gods.” (Psalm 82:1)

It begins with His first question to them:

“How long will you defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked?” (Psalm 82:2)

These are ‘not’ really gods that can compare to God Himself but in Love He gave them their ‘dominions’ which they “abused” to make ‘themselves as gods’ instead and were responsible for ‘many evils’:

‘I said, ‘You are “gods”; you are all sons of the Most High.’ (Psalm 82:6)

The Living God’s Curse upon them for all their evil deeds:

“But you will die like mere mortals; you will fall like every other ruler.” (Psalm 82:7)

These gods “didn’t know” and ‘neither understood’ His Power (darkness is their abode to the ages according to the evils which they committed*):

“The ‘gods’ know nothing, they understand nothing. They walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.” (Psalm 82:5)

*In the non-canonical book of Enoch (quoted below), we may have a glimpse of their horrendous deeds:

“From the days of the slaughter and destruction and death of the giants, from the souls of whose flesh the spirits, having gone forth, shall destroy without incurring judgement –thus shall they destroy until the day of the consummation, the great judgement in which the age shall be consummated, over the Watchers and the godless, yea, shall be wholly consummated.”

And now as to the watchers who have sent thee to intercede for them, who had been aforetime in heaven, (say to them): “You have been in heaven, but all the mysteries had not yet been revealed to you, and you knew worthless ones, and these in the hardness of your hearts you have made known to the women, and through these mysteries women and men work much evil on earth.” Say to them therefore: “You have no peace.”‘ (Book of Enoch)

P/S:

That’s why “none” of them ever walked the earth again.

As for the Almighty, He will return at the ‘end’ of this ‘current age’ (I call it the ‘Gospel age’) to ‘Judge’ and thereafter “Save” the World into the “ages to come”.

“Rise up, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations are your inheritance.” (Psalm 82:8)
