Two Rich Christians:Money-Fruit?

“So then, you will know them by their fruits.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:20)

Please don’t try to prove the Lord wrong by thinking you can “serve God and Money” because it can’t be done as a “Christian”:

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 6:24)

What does ‘serve’ mean?
A clue: Which do you “Love”?

It’s an ‘internal’ (or ‘heart’) issue as this example may shed some light though on the ‘outside’ it may ‘look’ the ‘same’:

(i) Rich Person A is devoted to God, prays, reads the Bible, attends church etc. with the “Love” to be “blessed with money” (true intent of the heart). So, we “cannot” desire to be ‘rich’ as a Christian as this verse reveals —> Such a one serves money instead of God:

“But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.” (1 Timothy 6:9)

(ii) Person B is “first” devoted to God, prays, reads the Bible, does not forsake the assembling of likewise believers together etc. with the “Love” toward God for ‘what He has done First’ (His ‘First Love’ and true intent of his heart). Now, regarding “riches”, he maintains his faith by “being content” (with what he has) and does “not” desire to be “rich”. However, if it happens that he becomes rich, he receives it with thanksgiving but if not, he is still content —> This one does “not” serve money but God and a trait is that he will be ‘willing to share’ easily in accordance to his capacity as this verse reveals:

“Those rich in the present age charge thou not to be high-minded, nor to hope in the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, who is giving to us all things richly for enjoyment; — to do good, to be rich in good works, to be ready to impart, willing to communicate, treasuring up to themselves a right foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on the life age-during.” (1 Timothy 6:17 – 19)

Anything else?
All else is “false knowledge” as this chapter concludes with this verse:

“O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you, avoiding worldly and empty chatter and the opposing arguments of what is falsely called “knowledge”— which some have professed and thus gone astray from the faith. Grace be with you.” (1 Timothy 6:20 – 21)
