Understand: The Transition

Whom Christ chooses transitions

From a slave (or servant) —> to becoming His son and His friend too.

(i) A son

“So you are no longer a slave but a son; and if a son, also an heir through God.” (Galatians 4:7)

(ii) A friend too

First sign of a friend: “he also knows what God is doing” (the revealed part, begins to “understand” by His Light, His Word):

“No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 15:15)

P/S:

A common false teaching prevalent in many churches is that, “God didn’t ask to understand but just believe”.

Here is the truth: You can “only believe” (truly) what “you understand” even if you don’t see it (that’s part of faith).

Here is the “proof verse” which states that the “seed” (of the Gospel) when sowed in Christians who “don’t understand” —> never remain in Him:

“When anyone hears the word about the kingdom and doesn’t understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the one sown along the path.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 13:19)

*So any Christian who does “not understand” His Word (of the kingdom) will become the ‘seed sown’ on ‘along the path’ as the Blessed One explains above.

Verses speak truth (“no” verse ever says, “don’t try to understand but just believe”. That’s the difference).

The opposite is instructed in other Scriptures too, for example “get understanding” (beginning with His Word) as this verse confirms this fact too:

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” (Proverbs 4:7)

Please read carefully: Note the command “get understanding” in the verse above. How many Christians are ‘obeying’ this command?
