Want to see God?

God is Holy

He is so Holy that the angels near the Throne of God “cover” themselves from His Brightness and His Radiance as it is written:

In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple.

Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.

And one called out to another and said, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD of the Heavenly Armies, The whole earth is full of His glory.” (Isaiah 6:1 – 3)

and,

And each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around and within. Day and night they never stop saying: “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!” (Revelation 4:8)

Again, I ask, “Want to see God?”

(i) You can’t as a “man” on earth:

Who (God) only is having immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable, whom no one of men did see, nor is able to see, to whom is honour and might age-during! Amen.” (1 Timothy 6:16)

But He (God) said (to Moses), “You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!” (Exodus 33:20)

(ii) You may only see ‘God revealed (manifested) in the Flesh’ as Lord Jesus Christ:

And without controversy Great is the Mystery of Godliness: God was Manifest in the Flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into Glory.” (1 Timothy 3:16)

(iii) Seeing Lord Jesus Christ is equivalent to seeing the Father:

Jesus replied, “Philip, I have been with you all this time, and still you do not know Me? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?” (John 14:9)

(iv) Thus, Moses may have seen Lord Jesus as these verses *hint* on this Great Mystery:

(a) Moses knew Him ‘face to face’:

Since that time no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,” (Deuteronomy 34:10)

(b) Moses wrote about Christ Jesus:

For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 5:46)

(c) Lord Jesus implies that He is the Great “I AM” Who appeared to Moses in the Burning Bush when He answered thus (even the Jews who heard Him utter that understood that Christ was calling Himself as the I AM = God) as this verse reveals a deep Mystery:

Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, ‘I AM’.” (John 8:58)

(d) Now, Christ did ‘not’ deny that ‘He is God’ when the Jews understood Him claiming it after hearing this statement:

I and the Father are one.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 10:30)

The Jews immediately took stones to ‘kill’ Him when they heard it:

The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him.” (John 10:31)

Why?

Two verses down, we find that the Jews accused Jesus of claiming to be God (something which Lord Jesus Christ “never” denied but told it indirectly, implying His Deity —> note that when Jesus said, ‘I and the Father are one’, the Jews understood this statement as ‘Jesus claiming to be God’ as the verse below reveals):

The Jews answered Him, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God.” (John 10:33)

(e) Later, after His Resurrection, apostle Thomas himself declared Jesus as both “Lord” and “God” (neither Christ nor Scripture denies it as an error on Thomas’ part, so it’s true!):

Thomas said to Him (Jesus), “My Lord and my God!“(John 20:28)

(v) Lastly, Christ spoke of ‘who’ will be able to ‘see God’ as follows (maybe beyond our ‘death’ and when we’re “not” an ‘earthly man’ anymore being perfected in Him):

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:8)

P/S:

He (Lord Jesus Christ) was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and (yet) the world did not know Him.” (John 1:10)
