The picture is true also in ‘many cases’.
Why?
Simple proof:
A husband’s money also belongs to the wife but a working wife’s money only belongs to her in “plenty of” cases. If any man has found a wife who is otherwise, lucky you because that’s one of the trait of a ‘prudent wife’ (she makes her own money for her family too) as these Biblical verses describe:
“She looks for wool and flax and works with her hands in delight. She is like merchant ships; She brings her food from afar.” (Proverbs 31:13 – 14)
“She considers a field and buys it; From her earnings she plants a vineyard. She girds herself with strength and makes her arms strong.” (Proverbs 31:16 – 17)
“She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies belts to the tradesmen.” (Proverbs 31:24)
Now, what kind of husband would a prudent wife have?
“Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.” (Proverbs 31:23)
Conclusion:
Any woman who sees herself as a ‘prudent wife’ MUST fulfill the conditions written in Proverbs 31 (the Word of God does “not” lie – Wisdom from Him first before ‘any decisions’). Therefore, men please check with Proverbs 31‘s criteria first, lest “you suffer” instead.
It is “not” an impossible criteria for if the Word defines it, it’s to be aimed at and such wives have existed in the past too:
“Many daughters have done nobly, But you excel them all.” Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.” (Proverbs 31:29 – 30)
Last but not least either, if any man wants the ‘prudent wife’ (or such close to perfection as described in Proverbs 31), one needs to ensure that he is close to being perfect a man too with respect to his roles.
Likewise, any woman who wishes the ‘best husband’ must also be the ‘best wife’ too in accordance to the criteria set forth in His Holy Word (at least as close as possible if “not” 100% perfect). All imperfections lead to problems, hurt, disagreements and many other vain things.
P/S:
Does such a woman exist? How to find her?
The Bible teaches that if “she exists”, only the LORD gives her to the right husband (as the verses in Proverbs 31 agree – God’s Word does “not” lie) as this verse reveals too:
“Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the LORD.” (Proverbs 19:14)
*God doesn’t make mistakes when it is “from Him”. Mistakes happen when it is “not” from Him (our error of discernment in choosing a ‘wrong spouse’ leads to this).
