A Secular Position
Here’s a verse:
“Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at that time.” (Judges 4:4)
Deborah did “not” lead due to being a “prophetess”. She had the gift of prophecy.
Deborah became a ‘leader’ as a “judge”. Now, a ‘judge’ is a ‘secular’ (worldly) position which was eventually replaced by “kings” (another secular position too).
Other secular positions such as these is a queen, etc.
Point: The Bible does “not” contradict itself when understood “correctly”.
P/S:
Another way to put it, Deborah is considered a “secular leader” of Israel for her role as a “judge” but ‘not’ because she was a “prophetess” (a spiritual gift).
