Unconditional Love

Hell – If God’s Love is Unconditional, why does Hell Exist?

Greatest and Unconditional Love – Proof of His Will in Image?

One Day His Unconditional Love will Save the Whole World in its time (1 John 4:14, John 1:29, 1 Timothy 2:6).

Why does Hell exist?

Because of our conditional love toward each other which demands that ‘those who wrong us (when we are innocent or right) experience back the evil they did or cause upon us’ (Galatians 6:7, Hebrews 9:27, Isaiah 3:11).

For most, it’s a two way reaping of forgiveness vs unforgiveness or Judgment vs non-Judgment in Hell as ‘how we treated others first’:

“But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 6:15, NASB)

“Do not judge so that you will not be judged. “For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:1 – 2, NASB)

Conclusion – How is God Different and Perfect?

Again, why does Hell exists?

Our Choice as Victims (whenever we are right relatively), we judge those who wrong us:

“If you forgive the sins of any, their sins have been forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they have been retained.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 20:27, NASB)

Really? Yes, Verses:

“But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘You good-for-nothing,’ shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell [Gehenna*]

“Therefore if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you,

Make friends quickly with your opponent at law while you are with him on the way, so that your opponent may not hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the officer, and you be thrown into prison. “Truly I say to you, you will not come out of there until you have paid up the last cent.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:22 – 23, 25 – 26, NASB)

*Gehenna (translated as Hell above) = Lake of Fire (St. Irenaeous’ Writings clearly describe this First Christianity Definition) and its duration is described in last verse above as ’till the last cent/Penny’ (not forever, Matthew 5:26) which is called its “Aeon or Eon” (meaning of age-during duration) as it varies across each case for the wicked accordingly (Matthew 25:46).

So, Judgment-part is “we dying in our own sins” (we experience the Judgment for the sins/pain we caused toward others as Matthew 5:22 – 26 describes ‘this Reason’ in a parabolic way, can you see it?):

“Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 8:24, NASB)

Few has Crossed into Perfection of ‘Forgiving Unconditionally’ (Unconditional Love) like Lord Jesus Christ.

  1. i) Lord Jesus Christ Forgives Unconditionally for the Wrongs Done against Him

“For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son,” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 5:22, NASB)

“You judge according to the flesh; I am not judging anyone.”- Lord Jesus Christ (John 8:15, NASB)

“If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 12:47, NASB)

“But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 23:34, NASB)

“Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter;” – Lord Jesus Christ (Mark 3:28, NASB)

  1. ii) Stephen the First Martyr of Christianity Forgives Unconditionally for the Murder done against him and Christ Stood on His Throne for Stephen following Him even toward this Perfection

“But being full of the Holy Spirit, he [Stephen] gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God;

and he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened up and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”

Then falling on his knees, he [Stephen] cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” Having said this, he fell asleep.” (Acts 7:55 – 56, 60, NASB)

[Emphasis Mine Throughout]

iii) The Blood of some innocent and righteous ones demand Vengeance of God

“and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” (Revelation 6:10, NASB)

Vengeance of God = What the wronged person demands as punishment as Matthew 5:22 – 23 described earlier in Principle (Parable, Generally Truth).

For example, the ‘babies slaughtered in the Old Testament is because the blood of the innocent mother & babies to whom it was wronged first demanded the same back toward the family of the perpetrators’ (when understood Retrospectively regarding God’s Judgment, not that God demands it but the victims):

“Daughter Babylon, doomed to destruction,

happy is the one who REPAYS you

according to what YOU have DONE to US.

Happy is the one who seizes your INFANTS

and DASHES them against the rocks.” (Psalm 137: 8 – 9, NIV)

Yes, some of the Judgment-part happens on earth while others upon death (Hebrews 9:27, Isaiah 3:11, Luke 16:19 – 31, Matthew 25:31 – 46).

Are we really that forgiving?

Suppose that ‘your favorite person in the world’ (be it your mom/daughter/sister/spouse) is raped and killed. Would you just forgive the perpetrator just like that ‘unconditionally’?

Some may ‘say it in their mouth’ but God Alone knows the “heart” and ‘only a forgiveness from the heart sets the perpetrator free’ as the Verse below Implies in Principle:

“My heavenly Father will also do the same to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 18:35, NASB)

Please note these phrases carefully in the above:

“My heavenly Father will also DO the SAME to you” = One gets to suffer the same punishment say in Hell (any afterlife Judgment Region, Isaiah 3:11)

” if each of you does not FORGIVE his brother from your HEART” = for you to be released from the prison of unforgiveness & the perpetrator to be really forgiven from Hell’s Last penny as described prior, a forgiveness from the HEART is NECESSARY.

We cannot measure or see these aspects, but GOD CAN.

“Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men’s hearts; and then each man’s praise will come to him from God.” – apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 4:5, NASB)

  1. iv) Sin against His Holy Spirit is Punishable for Two Ages (“Aeons or Eons”)

“Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. “Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 12:31 – 32, NASB)

Peace to you

“and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 8:32, NASB)

‘Let Scripture interpret Scripture’ – St. Clement of Alexandria (2nd to early 3rd Century)

P/S: First Christianity Proof

Di First Christianity Understand God’s Unconditional Love which Leads to Universal Salvation ‘even toward His Enemies’ as Many Bible Verses Point to this (e.g. Matthew 5:44, 1 Timothy 4:10, 1 Corinthians 15:22 – 23, Ephesians 1:9 – 11, 1 Corinthians 15:24 – 28, Romans 5:18 – 19, Titus 2:11, Psalm 22:27, Colossians 1:16, 20 etc.)?

Yes.

Who?

Even St. Justin Martyr and St. Irenaeous of Lyons, to quote (from pages 46 – 47 of the ‘Lost Orthodoxy’ Book):

i) Did Justin understand Universal Salvation?

Yes (example quote):

“For it had its SALVATION from itself; so that in SAVING the SOUL, God does no great thing. For to be saved is its natural destiny, because it is a part of Himself, being His inspiration. But no thanks are due to one who saves what is his own; for this is to save himself.

For he who SAVES a part himself, saves himself by his own means, lest he become defective in that part; and this is not the act of a good man. For not even when a man does good to HIS CHILDREN and offspring, does one call him a good man; for even the most savage of the wild beasts do so, and indeed willingly endure death, if need be, for the sake of their cubs.

But if a man were to perform the SAME ACTS in behalf of his SLAVES, that man would justly be called good. Wherefore the Saviour also taught us to LOVE our ENEMIES, since, says He, what thank have ye? So that He has shown us that it is a GOOD work not only to love THOSE that are BEGOTTEN of Him, but also THOSE that are WITHOUT [i.e. ‘not’ Begotten of Him, implied]. And what He enjoins upon us, He Himself FIRST of ALL DOES.” (St. Justin Martyr, CHAPTER VIII.–DOES THE BODY CAUSE THE SOUL TO SIN? FRAGMENTS OF THE LOST WORK OF JUSTIN ON THE RESURRECTION)

Please note ‘carefully’ that Justin implies that God Saving ‘His Own Begotten or Children is NOT a big deal’. Justin then proceeds to argue that Christ is above ALL because He Promises to Perform the SAME ACTS toward ‘His Slaves’ too and lastly toward HIS ENEMIES as well in the Beautifully Analogy above —> as the only Context of this Passage is ‘where the SOUL is SAVED eventually in its EXISTENCE’ —-> toward becoming “RESURRECTED in the FLESH’ again —-> in the Context of LOVE and GOODNESS, and ‘not Judgment’ —> toward His ENEMIES too —-> yes, the Context of the passage above proves that the SAME RESURRECTION to SINLESS-NESS being Promised thus in LOVE toward —-> BOTH ‘THOSE that are BEGOTTEN of Him’ —-> and ‘also THOSE that are WITHOUT [i.e. ‘not’ Begotten of Him, implied] —> proving that this must refer to the ‘not explicitly mentioned (though implied) second resurrection of the wicked’ toward ‘sinless-ness’ —> post the Lake of Fire Judgment (which follows after their ‘first resurrection for Judgment’, John 5:28 – 29 —-> and this GOOD and LOVE toward His ENEMIES, in saving ‘their souls to exist’ eventually in a ‘resurrected sinless body’ —> will certainly come to pass, as Justin remarks in faith, ‘He Himself FIRST of ALL DOES’.

(ii) Did Irenaeous understand Universal Salvation?

Yes (example quote):

“… Mercy Triumphs over Judgment” – apostle James (James 2:13, NASB)

How did Irenaeous Understand apostle Paul’s Last Word on Judgment – which is ‘MERCY to ALL eventually (in Romans 11:32)?’

Irenaeous does NOT speak of ‘any availability’ NOR does he refer to the ‘all’ in Romans 11:32 to refer to ‘believers only or the sheep only’ but also INCLUSIVE of the DISOBEDIENT too – Shocked? So was I when I read the following (which PROVES the CONTEXT of UNIVERSAL SALVATION for ALL MEN true when Romans 11:32 is quoted), as Irenaeous himself APPROVES it as follows:

“… Just as the physician is proved by his patients, so is God also revealed through MEN. And therefore Paul declares, “For God hath concluded ALL in UNBELIEF, that He [God] may have MERCY upon ALL; ” not saying this in reference to spiritual Aeons, but to MAN, who had been DISOBEDIENT to God, and being CAST OFF from IMMORTALITY, then OBTAINED MERCY, receiving through the Son of God that adoption which is [ACCOMPLISHED] by Himself… ” (St. Irenaeous of Lyons, ‘Against Heresies’, Book III, Chapter XX, second part of Point 3)

Judgment and Mercy

“For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.” – apostle James (James 2:13, NASB)

First part of James 2:13 —-> “Judgment without Mercy must be endured by those who showed no Mercy” (if we go to Hell, our Judgment pain is relative also to the ‘level of Mercy’ as we have shown).

As explained in previous posts, God doesn’t demand this as ‘His Love keeps no record of wrongs’ (1 Corinthians 13:5).

Who demands the Judgment then?

  1. i) Humans

Those who are wronged and are relatively innocent may retain the sins done against them, a choice (Revelation 6:10, John 20:23).

The ‘Righteous Judgment’ of God allows the demand for revenge by these wronged ones (Romans 2:5, Revelation 15:4, Matthew 5:22 – 26) and is understood as the Vengeance of God (Romans 12:19).

Please note ‘carefully’ that no verse in the Bible says that Lord Jesus Christ judges anyone for the sin done against Him. In fact, He chooses to ‘judge no one’ (John 5:22, John 8:15, John 12:47, Luke 23:34, Mark 3:28).

  1. ii) Angels

“For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty” (Hebrews 2:2, NASB)

Conclusion

At most, we can ‘forgive unconditionally’ like Stephen the first martyr of Christianity for the sins done against us (Acts 7:60) or demand judgment for it first toward those who wronged us (John 20:23, Revelation 6:10).

Hence, no one is forced to forgive or judge but those who ‘forgive unconditionally’ will be greater due to following after Christ (Matthew 5:19).

P/S: Mercy part

The Verse in James 2:13 doesn’t end there as the second part promises “God’s Aorist-Mercy” as follows:

“Mercy triumphs over Judgment” as described in an earlier post, even St. Irenaeous quoted this Verse to mean “Man” (i. e. All Men) to be Reconciled from ‘being cast off from immortality first’ , thus ending all Judgment Sentences eventually.

Blessed be Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior of all!

P/S 2: Millennial Reign & Judgment Day Scenes agreeing to this Exegesis

  1. i) Moses accuses the Jews for wrongly quoting him

“Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; the one who accuses you is Moses, in whom you have set your hope.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 5:45, NASB)

  1. ii) Your own sons will judge you for your false teachings regarding God

“If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? For this reason they will be your judges.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 12:27, NASB)

iii) God Meditates the Fights between Nations

“And He will judge between the nations, And will render decisions for many peoples; And they will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, And never again will they learn war.” (Isaiah 2:4, NASB)

“And He will judge between many peoples And render decisions for mighty, distant nations. Then they will hammer their swords into plowshares And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation will not lift up sword against nation, And never again will they train for war.” (Micah 4:3, NASB)

  1. iv) Who is your accuser now?

Satan, until he is thrown down before Christ’s Return:

“Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night.” (Revelation 12:10, NASB)

God Alone is Perfect.

Why?

Only God’s Love (called “Agape” in Greek – transliterated) keeps “no record of wrongs 100%” as the Infamous yet Mysterious Verse below Reveals Truthfully:

“It [Love] does not dishonor others, it [Love] is not self-seeking, it [Love] is not easily angered, it [AGAPE, GOD’S LOVE] keeps no record of wrongs.” – apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 13:5, NIV)

In comparison, ‘all human love’ falls short because it’s not always that we forgive others who wrong us unconditionally especially when a wrong is done toward our Loved one, right?

Hence, All Glory to God Alone in the Highest!

‘He Who Stunned even the angels by His Perfect Love, is Risen’ – Anonymous

Covenant by Covenant – His Holy Word

(Old vs New – God doesn’t change His Word within a Covenant, Verse in Image)

Proof Verses:

“For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

In that He saith, A new covenant, He hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.” (Hebrews 8:7, 13, KJV)

Our duty is to obey ‘what is written or delivered through His Apostles’, Verses:

  1. i) Toward Jewish Believers

“Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:” – apostle Peter (2 Peter 1:15, 2 Peter 3:2, KJV)

  1. ii) Toward Gentile Believers

“What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.” – apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 14:36 – 38, KJV)

Please note the ‘warning’ from Verse 38 above from another translation:

“But if anyone ignores this, they will themselves be ignored.” (1 Corinthians 14:38, NIV)

We may only debate about things not explicitly written in Holy New Testament Scripture.

Logic: You cannot be wrong if you preach New Testament Verses as it is Written. Old Testament Verses must be understood within the New Covenant Context as some things are not applicable especially toward Gentile Believers (e. g. Acts 15, Acts 21:24 – 25).

Conclusion – What’s the benefit of both ‘practicing and preaching’ accurate Theology as per His Commandments?

“Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:19, KJV)

P/S: Early Believers who obeyed the Commands of the Blessed Lord through apostle Paul are Praised, Examples:

(i) The Early Corinthian Church

“Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.” – apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 11:1 – 2, KJV)

(ii) The Early Thessalonian Church

“Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.” – apostle Paul (2 Thessalonians 2:15, KJV)

(iii) The Early Congregations

“Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.” – apostle Paul (Titus 1:9, KJV)

“But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:” – apostle Paul (Titus 2:1, KJV)

“Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.” – apostle Paul (2 Timothy 1:13, KJV)

“But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;” – apostle Paul (2 Timothy 3:14, KJV)

P/S: The One True God

How come people are prosperous even when they don’t obey God’s Word?

Because God is Good even to His Enemies and those evil, Verse to explain this often unrealized Biblical Truth:

“But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for He is KIND unto the UNTHANKFUL and to the EVIL. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is Merciful.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 6:35 – 36, KJV)

Really? Yes, it’s the Blessed Words of Christ Himself :

“That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for He maketh His sun to rise on the EVIL and on the GOOD, and sendeth rain on the JUST and on the UNJUST.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:45, KJV)

The Verses above imply that God’s Love is Unconditional as to whether we obey His Commands or not, but His Love is Greater toward those who obey Him (John 15:13 – 14, whom He calls as Friends) and ‘how much we strive to obey the least of His Commands proves our Love back to Him’ (a continuous measure, implied by Matthew 5:19 with John 14:15 too).

“If ye love Me, keep My commandments.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:15, KJV)

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. ” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 15:13 – 14, KJV)

‘Little obedience, little love; Much obedience, much Love’ – Unknown

Obedience does NOT bring you to Heaven as that’s a Free Gift of God by Lord Jesus Christ (Titus 3:5, below) but Obedience determines your ‘reward/position’ level in His Heavens as Matthew 5:19 (quoted prior) Reveals Beautifully.

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His Mercy He Saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;” – apostle Paul (Titus 3:5, KJV)

Peace to you

Death Hope – A Special Hope for Christians

What happens to Christians when they die?

They go with their souls to the ‘Blessed abodes of Hades’ such as Abraham’s Bosom first (Luke 16:19 – 31) and post-First-Resurrection to the heavens (Revelation 20:4 – 6).

Lord Jesus Christ’s Own Example demonstrates this as He Went to both ‘Paradise (Luke 23:43) & Punishment Regions (1 Peter 3:19) of Hades with His Soul’ and only Ascended to the heavens after Bodily Resurrection (Acts 1:11).

P/S: Is there Old Testament Scripture Proof which verifies consciousness after death or sleep only?

It was Hidden to this Level of Details, hence “Sheol” means “Unseen”.

For example, Prophet Samuel’s Soul (ghost) existed consciously in the afterlife even prophesying king Saul’s defeat and death (1 Samuel 28:13 – 19).

Hence, it is clear from these Verses that the “body sleeps” and not the ‘soul sleeps’ whenever the phrase ‘he became dead & sleeps in his tomb’ or equivalent is used.

The Ecclesiastes’ phrases refer both to the ‘dead body sleeping or being unconscious’ and that the ‘soul is generally not conscious of what happens under the sun, or the earth’ being in Sheol (Hebrew) or Hades (Greek).

Also, where in the Torah is it Written that our aim is to go to heaven once we die?

It was to be Revealed by Lord Jesus

Christ as referring to Bodily Resurrection which is only available in the New Testament and not the Old Covenant by which you may at most be in your soul in Abraham’s Bosom or Paradise.

And Hence, the talk of ‘being in Heaven one day’ was hidden and not plainly revealed in the Torah.

P/S 2: Did First Christianity understand it this way?

Yes. Please consider the write up below.

Exactly, the Torah is limited to the souls destination into Sheol only.

It doesn’t talk beyond that.

The New Testament reveals further into Bodily Resurrection as Lord Jesus Christ is through Whom only it’s available by which we believers may One Day inherit it too & go to the Heavens as the ancient Christians expounded this ‘secret of the kingdom of the heavens’ (for example regarding the 30, 60 and 100 fold mystery), to quote:

“Other seeds fell into the Good Soil, and as they grew up and increased, they yielded a crop and produced thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.” And He was saying, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear. And He was saying to them, “To you has been given the Mystery of the Kingdom of God, but those who are outside get everything in parables, so that WHILE SEEING, THEY MAY SEE AND NOT PERCEIVE, AND WHILE HEARING, THEY MAY HEAR AND NOT UNDERSTAND,” – Lord Jesus Christ (Mark 4:8 – 9, 11 – 12, NASB)

Even among the righteous, there is a difference in the level of inheritance (hundredfold vs sixty fold vs thirty fold – as per Mark 4:8, implied even in Matthew 5:19).

We know that Mark 4:8 ONLY refers to the RIGHTEOUS due to the phrase ‘Good Soil’ in this Verse itself.

A righteous one is one who ‘believes in faith’ (Romans 1:17) and that’s why for ‘his faith’ the ‘thief on the cross received the sixty fold reward of Paradise’ (Luke 23:43).

How do I know that the thief on the cross received a sixty fold reward of Paradise?

Please consider the explanation below:

Mark 4:11 – 12 reveals literally that in regards to the Topic of the ‘Kingdom of God’ such as Athe ‘thirty-sixty-hundredfold’ inheritance (Mark 4:8 – 9 – Context of Consecutive Verses), as only the disciples knew ‘secret things’ (NOT revealed to others, implying that these are NOT Written in Mark 4 itself).

Hence, it is valid that we look for earliest ‘reliable’ Christian Writings (if it exists) to see if any early church leaders ‘knew it’.

Is there such a Writing which may reveal this Secret in regards to the Differences in the Kingdom of God?

Yes, please consider:

‘A fragment from the early 2nd century of one of the lost volumes of Papias, a Christian bishop, expounds that “heaven” was separated into three distinct layers. He referred to the first as just “heaven”, the second as “paradise”, and the third as “the city”. Papias taught that “there is this distinction between the habitation of those who produce a hundredfold, and that of those who produce sixty-fold, and that of those who produce thirty-fold’ (Papias, Fagments 5:1)

Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heaven_in_Christianity

This Truth is further affirmed by St. Irenaeous of Lyons himself as follows, to quote:

“… And as the presbyters say, Then those who are deemed worthy of an abode in heaven shall go there, others shall enjoy the delights of paradise, and others shall possess the splendour of the city; for everywhere the Saviour shall be seen according as they who see Him shall be worthy.

[They say, moreover], that there is this distinction between the habitation of those who produce an hundred-fold, and that of those who produce sixty-fold, and that of those who produce thirty-fold: for the first will be taken up into the heavens, the second will dwell in paradise, the last will inhabit the city; and that was on this account the Lord declared, “In My Father’s house are many mansions.”

For all things belong to God, who supplies all with a suitable dwelling-place; even as His Word says, that a share is allotted to all by the Father, according as each person is or shall be worthy.

And this is the couch on which the guests shall recline, having been invited to the wedding.

The presbyters, the disciples of the apostles, affirm that this is the gradation and arrangement of those who are saved, and that they advance through steps of this nature; also that they ascend through the Spirit to the Son, and through the Son to the Father,” (Iraneous, ‘Against Heresies’, Book 5, Chapter 36: 1 – 2)

You can never find this truth in the Torah, sorry because God Never Meant it to be Revealed until the New Covenant in Christ was Established as it is Written in the Gospels.

So, what is this Special Death Hope for Christians only (1 Thessalonians 4:13 onward)?

The ‘First Resurrection’ which is the Highest Created thing Ever and Its Given in Full to His Church or Bride only (Revelation 20:4 – 6, Luke 20:35 – 26, Romans 8:19 – below).

“For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God.” – apostle Paul (Romans 8:19, NASB)

“but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; for they cannot even die anymore, because they are like angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 20:35 – 36, NASB)

“Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.” – apostle John (Revelation 20:4 – 6, NASB)

Day – In That Day – 1000 Years Millennial Reign of Christ Onward

Prophecy after He Returns on His White Horse:

“And the LORD will be king over all the earth; in that day the LORD will be the only one, and His name the only one.” (Isaiah 14:9, NASB)

“And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.

And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.

Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.” (Isaiah 24:21 – 23, KJV)

P/S: that Day – First Resurrection Happens too

These are things to look forward to on that “Day” (as for the Lord, the Day is like a thousand years is connected to this subject as St. Justin Martyr also wrote, 2 Peter 3:8, Psalm 90:4).

“And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the THOUSAND YEARS were finished. This is the FIRST RESURRECTION. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall REIGN with HIM a THOUSAND YEARS .” (Revelation 20:4 – 6, KJV)

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall RISE FIRST:” (1 Thessalonians 4:16, KJV)

Please notice Carefully the phrases:

FIRST RESURRECTION (Revelation 20:5) = dead in Christ shall RISE FIRST (1 Thessalonians 4:16) = ‘for any Christian’

This is the Hope (of partaking in the FIRST RESURRECTION and being part of His Millennial Reign for a thousand years) which is NOT available for the rest of the dead (as the context of both 1 Thessalonians 4:13 and Revelation 20:5 agree speaking of this ‘Same Topic/Context’).

The ‘lawless Christians and the rest’ will be rejected from being part of this ‘First Resurrection’ on “this DAY” (please note the phrase ‘that DAY’ in Verses below to realize ‘this Context’):

“Many will say to me in that DAY, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity [Lawlessness].” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:22 – 23, KJV)

Please also note that ‘many’ of those who did ‘prophesy/casting out of demons/wonderful works or miracles’ in ‘His Name’ (so called Christians) are rejected for one reason only which is ‘Lawlessness’.

This means that gifting nor works prove anything but keeping or obeying His Commandments only.

Please note carefully in Verse below (example) where apostle Paul quotes the importance of ‘keeping the Commands of God’ in the context of ‘what some churches today consider as less important commands or options’ in the book of 1 Corinthians:

“Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.” (1 Corinthians 7:19, KJV)

Why take the risk preaching or doing against the Commands of the Lord (1 Corinthians 14:37) as found in the Book of 1 Corinthians (Context or Topic when the Truth in 1 Corinthians 7:19 was Written)?

Let’s be wise.

Woman Insults – Email Received on 26 April 2019 in Image

Reply

These Verses make sense.

1 Corinthians 14:34

1 Timothy 2:12

Last I checked, opinions are worthless.

Man-woman distinctions only vanish after even women become “sons of God” (not daughters of God, in verses just prior to Galatians 3’s no Male-female etc. Eventually).

If God wanted all equal on ‘earth itself’, He wouldn’t have created Male-female itself.

Please respect God’s Word (each Verse quoted are New Testament Verses).

You’re not disrespecting me. You’re disrespecting the Author Who Inspired these Verses (the Holy Spirit of God) and the apostle Paul (the true apostle of the Gentile by God’s Authority) through whom these were Written. I respect the Word of God by preaching these “New Testament Verses” as it is Written.

The Same Disrespect you show to the word of God can be returned to you, let God Decide to Forgive or Judge you (Galatians 6:7, Isaiah 3:11). May God forgive you for insulting His Holy Word (my request). Apostle Paul will have his say too as your insult is toward God’s Command which are delivered through him (Romans 2:16).

Apostle Paul who wrote these commands of the Lord (1 Corinthians 14:37) who preached it is higher than you or I or any women you worship. When you see His Millennial Reign, you will see. I will choose to follow apostle Paul’s Way of Obeying Christ which is the only Biblically endorsed way for a Gentile believer (1 Corinthians 11:1 – 2).

Are you jealous of the leadership roles not available to you or too proud that you think you are greater than what you are created for?

Please, your opinions will never affect my life. Only Bible Verses will affect my life and so, I will stick to that.

Pleasing you or any woman is not going to give me health nor wealth but pleasing God has its benefits as it helps us live even as ‘… Man shall live by every Word from the Mouth of God’ (Matthew 4:4).

Since by following your words or opinions, I get no benefit (a. k. a. “nothing good” in my life), I would choose to reject it. That’s how worthless following your opinion is to me.

Regarding respect, a woman gets the same respect as she gives to the Word of God & vice versa (same applies to a man), Verse:

“Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.” (Proverbs 31:30, KJV)

I don’t respect disobedience to His Word. I respect woman who obey His Word above selfish ambitions such as Mother Theresa who ‘did the best charity works WITHOUT MAKING HERSELF A LEADER AGAINST BIBLE VERSES’.

Talking about being worthless, please notice that the ‘Catholic Church’ is the Largest & Longest Continually Serving Charitable Organization in the entire Human History, to date. The Catholic Church surely obeys 1 Corinthians 14:34 and 1 Timothy 2:12 as does other denominations (the part where they got this right for sure). So, people who obeyed these Verses have been the biggest charity givers too despite some of them being bad as well (which is existent in all belief systems including atheism) and so they are NOT WORTHLESS.

Please repent!

Cheers

Jon

Conclusion

“Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:11, NASB)

Blessed be the Name of the LORD

P/S: Galatians 3 Context – Abrahamic Promise, First Resurrection, Millennial Reign Onward

“For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise.” – apostle Paul (Galatians 3:26 – 29, NASB)

Did you notice that apostle Paul wrote both 1 Timothy 2:12 and Galatians 3:28?

Can you see under ‘whose Verse’ are you quoting?

I believe in Both as it is Written. Galatians 3:28 talks about the Vanishing distinctions in the context of becoming ‘sons of God’ or ‘Children of God’ (KJV) as Galatians 3:26 Speaks in “faith” (in reference of the future which is NOT ATTAINED yet, Romans 8:24) in the Context of the ‘Abrahamic Covenant’s Promise’ (the Milennial Reign Inheritance, First Resurrection Onward, Galatians 3:29) where even male-female distinctions vanish as we become like ‘angels in Heaven’ (Luke 20:35 – 36) which is NOT ATTAINED EITHER YET by any Christian (Hebrews 11:13).

So if any Christian claims that they have attained Galatians 3:28, they are lying as NO ABRAHAMIC PROMISE is given yet on earth now in the current state (Hebrews 11:13, this Verse from the Hebrew’s Definition of Faith itself Debunks all such Modern Heresies):

“These ALL died in faith, NOT having RECEIVED the PROMISES, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.” – Anonymous (Hebrews 11:13, KJV)

This Verse too Debunks such receiving ‘part of the Abrahamic Promise Modern Heresies’:

“And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, RECEIVED NOT the PROMISE:” (Hebrews 11:39, KJV)

Please be careful of teaching lies and Lawlessness (Matthew 7:23). Where do liars go (Revelation 21:8)?

P/S 2: First Christianity

Examples:

Origen (AD 185-254) stated that,

Even if it is granted to a woman to show the sign of prophecy, she is nevertheless not permitted to speak in an assembly. When Miriam the prophetess spoke, she was leading a choir of women … For [as Paul declares] “I do not permit a woman to teach,” and even less “to tell a man what to do.”[16]

Historian Philip Schaff records early church fathers of the 3rd and 4th centuries as teaching, regarding 1 Cor. 14: 34,35,

Tertullian, the second-century Latin father, wrote that “It is not permitted to a woman to speak in church. Neither may she teach, baptize, offer, nor claim for herself any function proper to a man, least of all the sacerdotal office.” (“On the Veiling of Virgins”).

Source:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women_in_Church_history

Please note carefully that a woman is permitted to preach the Gospel (i.e. Christ Born, Died and Rose according to Scriptures) but is NOT permitted to ‘Teach Doctrine which asserts authoritative Commands’ (Context).

Please remember that even Tertullian (Roman Catholic) and Origen of Alexandria (Eastern Orthodox) believed in Apostle Paul’s Writings during their time proving that these are NOT limited to ‘the Corinthian church only heresy’ but ‘ALL Churches of God, as True Churches of God KNOW OF NO OTHER PRACTICE’ (1 Corinthians 11:16) regarding even in the Context of Such Biblical Rules (gender based, Church based, e.g. in 1 Corinthians), Verse below:

“But if one is inclined to be contentious, we have NO OTHER PRACTICE, NOR have the CHURCHES OF GOD.” – apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 11:16, NASB)

Please ponder on these two phrases “we have NO OTHER PRACTICE” and “NOR have the CHURCHES OF GOD” carefully as you read the ‘rules which God gave from 1 Corinthians 11 to 14’. Can you see it?

The concept of ‘Anonymous Christian’ is Biblical as the ‘Author of Hebrews did too’. I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ (Romans 1:16).

Regarding the apostle Paul who preached say 1 Timothy 2:12, the level of Anointing he had is described as follows:

“And the evil spirit answered and said to them, “I recognize Jesus, and I know about Paul, but who are you?” (Acts 19:15, NASB)

Let’s be Careful to follow the ‘True Men of God who Teach the Bible as it is Written as apostle Paul taught it with First Christianity Proofs’.

Trinity Proof – Two YHWH Mystery in Old Testament itself

Please note that YHWH quotes YHWH in Zechariah 3:2 implying that the FIRST-YHWH is Lord Jesus Christ, the Son while the SECOND-YHWH is God the Father.

Really?

Did I make up this ‘imaginary exegesis’ or is it ‘First Christianity Exegesis by a Most Reliable First Christian after the apostles discussing this Same Verse likewise’?

Please consider:

Trinity – Christ Identified as YHWH in Zechariah 3:2 by St. Justin Martyr

First Christianity Proof of Sound Doctrine, to quote:

“CHAPTER CXV — PREDICTION ABOUT THE CHRISTIANS IN ZECHARIAH. THE MALIGNANT WAY WHICH THE JEWS HAVE IN DISPUTATIONS.

“But you ought to believe Zechariah when he shows in parable the mystery of Christ, and announces it obscurely. The following are his words: ‘Rejoice, and be glad, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I shall dwell in the midst of thee, saith the Lord. And many nations shall be added to the Lord in that day. And they shall be my people, and I will dwell in the midst of thee; and they shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto thee. And the Lord shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and He shall choose Jerusalem again. Let all flesh fear before the Lord, for He is raised up out of His holy clouds. And He showed me Jesus (Joshua) the high priest standing before the angel [of the Lord]; and the devil stood at his right hand to resist him. And the Lord said to the devil, The Lord who hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee. Behold, is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?’ ”

As Trypho was about to reply and contradict me, I said, “Wait and hear what I say first: for I am not to give the explanation which you suppose, as if there had been no priest of the name of Joshua (Jesus) in the land of Babylon, where your nation were prisoners. But even if I did, I have shown that if there was a priest named Joshua (Jesus) in your nation, yet the prophet had not seen him in his revelation, just as he had not seen either the devil or the angel of the Lord by eyesight, and in his waking condition, but in a trance, at the time when the revelation was made to him. But I now say, that as [Scripture] said that the Son of Nave (Nun) by the name Jesus (Joshua) wrought powerful works and exploits which proclaimed beforehand what would be performed by our Lord; so I proceed now to show that the revelation made among your people in Babylon in the days of Jesus (Joshua) the priest, was an announcement of the things to be accomplished by our Priest, who is God, and Christ the Son of God the Father of all.

“Indeed, I wondered,” continued I, “why a little ago you kept silence while I was speaking, and why you did not interrupt me when I said that the son of Nave (Nun) was the only one of contemporaries who came out of Egypt that entered the Holy Land along with the men described as younger than that generation. For you swarm and light on sores like flies. For though one should speak ten thousand words well, if there happen to be one little word displeasing to you, because not sufficiently intelligible or accurate, you make no account of the many good words, but lay hold of the little word, and are very zealous in setting it up as something impious and guilty; in order that, when you are judged with the very same judgment by God, you may have a much heavier account to render for your great audacities, whether evil actions, or bad interpretations which you obtain by falsifying the truth. For with what judgment you judge, it is righteous that you be judged withal.

CHAPTER CXVI — IT IS SHOWN HOW THIS PROPHECY SUITS THE CHRISTIANS.

“But to give you the account of the revelation of the holy Jesus Christ, I take up again my discourse, and I assert that even that revelation was made for us who believe on Christ the High Priest, namely this crucified One; and though we lived in fornication and all kinds of filthy conversation, we have by the grace of our Jesus, according to His Father’s will, stripped ourselves of all those filthy wickednesses with which we were imbued. And though the devil is ever at hand to resist us, and anxious to seduce all to himself, yet the Angel of God, i.e., the Power of God sent to us through Jesus Christ, rebukes him, and he departs from us. And we are just as if drawn out from the fire, when purified from our former sins, and [rescued] from the affliction and the fiery trial by which the devil and all his coadjutors try us; out of which Jesus the Son of God has promised again to deliver us, and invest us with prepared garments, if we do His commandments; and has undertaken to provide an eternal kingdom [for us]. For just as that Jesus (Joshua), called by the prophet a priest, evidently had on filthy garments because he is said to have taken a harlot for a wife, and is called a brand plucked out of the fire, because he had received remission of sins when the devil that resisted him was rebuked; even so we, who through the name of Jesus have believed as one man in God the Maker of all, have been stripped, through the name of His first-begotten Son, of the filthy garments, i.e., of our sins; and being vehemently inflamed by the word of His calling, we are the true high priestly race of God, as even God Himself bears witness, saying that in every place among the Gentiles sacrifices are presented to Him well-pleasing and pure. Now God receives sacrifices from no one, except through His priests.”

– St. Justin Martyr (Dialogue with Trypho the Jew)

P/S: Which phrase from Justin’s Writing above?

“And He showed me Jesus (Joshua) the high priest standing before the angel [of the Lord]; and the devil stood at his right hand to resist him. And the Lord said to the devil, The Lord who hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee.”

More particularly from the above,

“And the Lord said to the devil, The Lord who hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee”

With Emphasis,

“And the Lord [Jesus] said to the devil, The Lord [Father] who hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee [the Devil]”

With Emphasis together with the Original Zechariah 3:2 Verse Matching,

“And the LORD [Jesus, YHWH in Hebrew] said to the devil, The LORD [Father, YHWH in Hebrew too] who hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee [the Devil]”

Zechariah 3:2 Verse for comparison? (in image too)

“And the LORD [YHWH] said unto Satan, The LORD [YHWH] rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD [YHWH] that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?” (Zechariah 3:2, KJV)

The FIRST-YHWH in this Verse = “LORD [YHWH] said unto Satan” = YHWH referred to here is Lord Jesus Christ.

The SECOND-YHWH mentioned in this Verse = ‘The LORD [YHWH] rebuke thee, O Satan’ = YHWH referred to here is God the Father.

The Mystery of the Trinity was Hidden in the Torah whenever God was Referred to as “Us” (Plural).

This is NOT a Grammar thingy as some claim because plenty of Old Testament Verses use “Singular” Phrases when YHWH Speaks as well, for example “Be Still and know that I am God…” (Psalm 46:10).

This means that to claim the ‘grammar fallacy’, then there is NO difference whether God Speaks using “Plural-Us” vs “Singular-I”. Can you see it?

We claim that there is a difference when God uses the “Plural-Us” (e. g. Genesis 1:26) vs “Singular-I” (e. g. Psalm 46:10) Identification where the former refers to the Trinity while the latter refers to Christ as Son of God, Pre-existent before His Manifestation in the Flesh.

“I and the Father are one.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 10:30, NASB)

You cannot be Baptized in the Name of a Creation. One is Baptized into God’s Name Only and it is “the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit” (Distinctly Revealed as One Post-His Resurrection or Glorification):

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19, NASB)

Peace to you

Millennial Reign – Three Types of Christians

Here is an important Question

Can a Christian be Saved even if they believed and preached say a false understanding of the Coming of Christ & His 1000 Years Millennial Reign?

Reply

Yes, it is possible as St. Justin Martyr (a Christian ‘who is right on all points’ – please read his writings below ‘carefully’) reveals the three types of Christians according to their ‘Doctrinal Errors’, to quote:

  1. i) Christians Right on All Points

“Then I answered, “I am not so miserable a fellow, Trypho, as to say one thing and think another. I admitted to you formerly, that I and many others are of this opinion, and[believe] that such will take place, as you assuredly are aware; but, on the other hand, I signified to you that many who belong to the pure and pious faith, and are true Christians, think otherwise…” – St. Justin Martyr (AD 100-165)

(Dialogue With Trypho the Jew, CHAPTER LXXX — THE OPINION OF JUSTIN WITH REGARD TO THE REIGN OF A THOUSAND YEARS. SEVERAL CATHOLICS REJECT IT)

  1. ii) Christian Heretics

“… Moreover, I pointed out to you that some who are called Christians, but are godless, impious heretics, teach doctrines that are in every way blasphemous, atheistical, and foolish. But that you may know that I do not say this before you alone, I shall draw up a statement, so far as I can, of all the arguments which have passed between us; in which I shall record myself as admitting the very same things which I admit to you. For I choose to follow not men or men’s doctrines, but God and the doctrines[delivered] by Him. For if you have fallen in with some who are called Christians, but who do not admit this[truth], and venture to blaspheme the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob; who say there is no resurrection of the dead, and that their souls, when they die, are taken to heaven; do not imagine that they are Christians, even as one, if he would rightly consider it, would not admit that the Sadducees, or similar sects of Genist , Meristae,Gelilaeans, Hellenists, Pharisees, Baptists, are Jews(do not hear me impatiently when I tell you what I think), but are[only] called Jews and children of Abraham, worshipping God with the lips, as God Himself declared, but the heart was far from Him. But I and others, who are right-minded Christians on all points, are assured that there will be a resurrection of the dead, and a thousand years in Jerusalem, which will then be built, adorned, and enlarged, the prophets Ezekiel and Isaiah and others declare.” – St. Justin Martyr (AD 100-165)

(Dialogue With Trypho the Jew, CHAPTER LXXX — THE OPINION OF JUSTIN WITH REGARD TO THE REIGN OF A THOUSAND YEARS. SEVERAL CATHOLICS REJECT IT)

iii) Christians With Wrong Doctrines but Still Saved

“… Then I [Justin Martyr] answered, “I am not so miserable a fellow, Trypho, as to say one thing and think another. I admitted to you formerly, that I and many others are of this opinion, and[believe] that such will take place, as you assuredly are aware; but, on the other hand, I signified to you that many who belong to the pure and pious faith, and are true Christians, think otherwise. …” St. Justin Martyr (AD 100-165)

Conclusion

Please make thy Choice wisely regarding ‘what you believe as Christians’ as it does Make a Difference:

“Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:19, KJV)

Please note the often ignored word “preach” carefully in Verse above. This means that ‘Preaching the Right Doctrine’ also weighs our position in His Heavens (plural in Greek) as St. Justin’s Writing also Reveals regarding this.

P/S: First Christianity Proof

Example of a Christian in Millennial Reign Doctrinal Error is St. Augustine of Hippo himself who with Origen confused Eusebius himself regarding this Doctrine .

Augustine’s assumption of a ‘symbolic reign from heaven’ and not literally on earth (Contradicting say Revelation 5:10 and Revelation 20:5 – 6) & other such ‘fancy explanations’ did NOT exist in the earlier among the most authoritative church leaders who all spoke the ‘same thing’ (in principle of 1 Corinthians 1:10) as it is Written in the Bible or Justin Martyr’s Writings.

So, in regards to this Doctrine we speak the SAME as Justin Martyr, Irenaenous, Papias, Tertullian, Polycarp, Clement of Rome, Theophilus of Antoich, Clement of Alexandria, Hipplytus of Rome, Methodius, Cyrprian, Commodian, Lactantius & others.

So, we believe exactly the same as St. Justin Martyr and the Best of First Christianity Regarding this Millennial Reign Doctrine as the Famous Historian Philip himself says, to quote:

“Philip Schaff, the dean of American church historians and himself a postrnillennialist, provided the following summary of the early church’s view of the millennium: “The most striking point in the eschatology of the ante-Nicene age is the prominent chiliasm, or millenarianism, that is the belief of a visible reign of Christ in glory on earth with the risen saints for a thousand years, before the general resurrection and judgment. It was indeed not the doctrine of the church embodied in any creed or form of devotion, but a widely current opinion of distinguished teachers, such as Barnabas, Papias, Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Tertullian, Methodius, and Lactantius.”

Here’s the Real Theological Joke: ‘No one in First Christianity believed the same as you regarding these quoted Verses except probably for Augustine. Interestingly, none of them (including Augustine) believed in ‘Rapture or Two Coming of Christ Theory whose first theorist was a 17th Century Puritan, an irony indeed’.’

Let’s yield our obedience to God in a Wiser and more accurate Way to avoid the Classic ‘misplaced Zeal of God without proper Biblical knowledge – Scenario’ as described in Verse below:

“For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge.” – apostle Paul (Romans 10:2, NASB)

Gospel Preached in Hell? – Even into Hades/Sheol to “Some”

“The Self-revealing of the Word is in every dimension – above, in creation; below, in the Incarnation; in the depth, in Hades; in the breadth, throughout the world. All things have been filled with the knowledge of God.”

― St. Athanasius, On the Incarnation

Really?

Did First Christianity understand that the Gospel is Preached to the Dead even ‘after’ Christ’s Descent?

Yes, to quote:

“One more example will illustrate the righteous spirits’ taking the gospel to the wicked spirits and will also provide a transition to the topic of vicarious work for the dead. The Shepherd of Hermas (first century) was, according to the fourth-century Church historian Eusebius, considered by some valuable for instruction in the Church and was quoted by some of the most ancient writers.

Hermas saw in a vision that the Apostles took the gospel into the spirit world so that the dead might receive the seal of baptism:

These apostles and teachers, who preached the name of the Son of God, having fallen asleep in the power and faith of the Son of God, preached also to those who had fallen asleep before them, and themselves gave to them the seal of the preaching [baptism]. They went down therefore with them into the water and came up again, but the latter went down alive and came up alive, while the former who had fallen asleep before, went down dead but came up alive. (Sim. 9.16.5)

Clement of Alexandria also cited this passage, commenting “that it was necessary for the apostles to be imitators of their Master on the other side as well as here, that they might convert the gentile dead as he did the Hebrew.”

Wait. Is the ‘Shepherd of Hermas Book Reliable’?

Yes, to quote:

“The Shepherd was very popular amongst Christians in the 2nd and 3rd centuries.”

How about the Eastern Orthodox Church?

“It is part of the Codex Sinaiticus, and it is listed between the Acts of the Apostles and the Acts of Paul in the stichometrical list of the Codex Claromontanus.”

How about the ‘early Roman Catholic Church’?

“Tertullian implies that Pope Callixtus I had quoted it as an authority (though evidently not as one of the books of the Bible), for he replies: “I would admit your argument, if the writing of The Shepherd had deserved to be included in the Divine Instrument, and if it were not judged by every council of the Churches, even of your own Churches, among the apocryphal and false.”

Source:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Shepherd_of_Hermas

The ONLY reason the Shepherd of Hermas was not popular among some early Christians is because they were “uncomfortable” (with the “Visions” – because ‘they lacked faith that God can grant Visions’), to quote from that same Wikipedia Source again:

“Though Clement of Alexandria constantly quotes with reverence a work that seems to him to be very useful, and inspired; yet he repeatedly apologizes, when he has occasion to quote it, on the ground that “many people despise it”. Two controversies divided the mid-century Roman Christian communities. One was Montanism, the ecstatic inspired outpourings of continuing pentecostal revelations, such as the visions recorded in the Shepherd may have appeared to encourage.”

Saved from Hell?  More Accurately (for the quote in picture):

‘The Grave lost a Corpse while Hades lost a Soul to Christ (as Mysteriously Prophesied toward this End in Hosea 13:14 for all of Grave & Hades/Sheol)’

“From the hand of Sheol I do ransom them, From death I redeem them, Where is thy plague, O death? Where thy destruction, O Sheol? Repentance is hid from Mine eyes.” – God Speaks in (Hosea 13:14, YLT)

‘Repentance is hid from My Eyes?’

God Will NOT change His Mind/Heart from Doing the above till ‘all of the Grave and Sheol/Hades is Emptied’ (the Last Reconciliation is from the Lake of Fire itself from Hades/Grave cast into it, Revelation 22:17) for ‘All Men’ (same ‘all who died in Adam’ who will be ‘all made alive by Christ eventually’, 1 Corinthians 15:21 – 22 but each in his own order of time, 1 Corinthians 15:23), Verses:

“For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming,” – apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 15:21 – 23, NASB)

Hence this Conclusion for ‘All Men eventually vs believers being more special’ makes Sense:

“For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.” – apostle Paul (1 Timothy 4:10, KJV)

Propitiation – not just for “our” (Christian) sins but for All Creation

“It is indeed proper to God, and befitting His character, to show mercy and pity, and to bring salvation to His creatures, even though they be brought under danger of destruction. “For with Him,” says the Scripture, “is propitiation.”.” – St. Irenaeous of Lyons (Fragment X)

What is the Context and Meaning of 1 John 2:2?

“and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.” – apostle John (1 John 2:2, NASB)

The Fact that afterlife Judgment precedes the Restoration of All is also taught by Clement of Alexandria & the ancient Alexandrian School as well, to quote (How did Clement of Alexandria understand 1 John 2:2 as he quotes it in the ‘Context’ or Discussion below? – Please read and notice ‘carefully’ as to how 1 John 2:2 is quoted below in the Context of Christ Centred Universalism ONLY):

“Ver. 2. “And not only for our sins,”–that is for those of the faithful,–is the Lord the propitiator, does he say, “but also for the whole world.” He, indeed, SAVES ALL; but SOME [He SAVES], CONVERTING them by PUNISHMENTSOTHERS, however, WHO FOLLOW VOLUNTARILY [He SAVES] with DIGNITY of honour; so “that every knee should bow to Him, of things in heaven, and things on earth, and things under the earth;” that is, ANGELSMEN, and SOULS that before His advent have departed from this temporal life.” – Clement of Alexandria (150 – 215)

All things – Verse in Image

The ‘same all things’ definition & context as per Colossians 1:16 which will be “Reconciled back to Him eventually” as Revealed in Colossians 1:20.

God does not Fail.

“For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.” – apostle Paul (Colossians 1:16, 20, NASB)

Blessed be Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior of the World!

Please note the often overlooked phrase “all created things” carefully in Colossians 1:16 (the ‘Bible Context’ here).

P/S: Did First Christianity understand it this Way?

Yes, who?

Please consider the quote below:

Irenaeous of Lyons reveals that he knows it (though they don’t like to speak of it ‘easily’ in order to obey the Command to ‘not cast pearls to swine’ – Matthew 7:6), to quote (rarely known):

Schaff admits that the opinions of Irenaeus are doubtful from his (Schaff’s) orthodox standpoint and says: 12 “In the fourth Pfaffian fragment ascribed to him (Stieren I, 889) he says that ‘Christ will come at the end of time to destroy all evil—-and to reconcile all things– from Col. i:20–that there may be an end of all impurity.’

That quote in full:

“XXXIX.

Christ, who was called the Son of God before the ages, was manifested in the fulness of time, in order that He might cleanse us through His blood, who were under the power of sin, presenting us as pure sons to His Father, if we yield ourselves obediently to the chastisement of the Spirit. And in the end of time He shall come to do away with all evil, and to reconcile all things, in order that there may be an end of all impurities.” – St. Irenaeous of Lyons

Inclusion or Exclusion or Both?

Who do we include?

All.

How?

For example: We Include Most – All who Teach the same as apostle Paul. Also, we include in the distance those who teach against the Gospel of our Lord as delivered to apostle Paul.

This means that ‘All are included’ the difference being ‘how close only’ as it is Demonstrated by Lord Jesus Christ First on Earth (e. g. His Disciples being Closest to Him while the Pharisees who are condemned to Gehenna being included at a distance – making sense of Matthew 5:19 too).

As a Gentile Believer, we strive to follow after the ‘human example’, apostle Paul as it is Commanded by Lord Jesus Christ Himself (in 1 Corinthians 14:37 and other Inspired Verses, such as the ones listed below) & ‘preach the same doctrine’ (1 Corinthians 1:10):

“Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.” – apostle Paul (2 Timothy 1:13, KJV)

“And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” – apostle Paul (2 Timothy 2:2, KJV)

Conclusion

“But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;” – apostle Paul (2 Timothy 3:14, KJV)

“If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.” – apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 14:37, KJV)

Why do I follow those who follow apostle Paul such as is evidenced in the writings of St. Justin Martyr or St. Irenaeous of Lyons or even St. Clement of Alexandria from First Christianity?

It is commanded in the Bible in Verses below:

“Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” – apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 11:1, KJV)

“Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.” – apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 4:16, KJV)

“Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.” – apostle Paul (Philippians 3:17, KJV)

This must be done with the ‘Joy of the Holy Spirit of God’:

“And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:” – apostle Paul (1 Thessalonians 1:6, KJV)

“Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” – apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 1:10, KJV)

“Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.” – apostle Paul (Titus 1:9, KJV)

Sound Doctrine is whatever taught by God through apostle Paul and Vice Versa as he was inspired to write the Verse below (quoted in its Proper First “Context”):

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;” – apostle Paul (2 Timothy 4:3, KJV)

P/S: Please be Careful of ‘self will’

The Commandments of God are given so that we don’t mix it up with ‘self will’ which is warned against in Verse below:

“But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.” – apostle Peter (2 Peter 2:10, KJV)

Yes even apostle Peter approved that we ought to obey the Commands of God as it is Delivered through His Apostles:

“That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour” – apostle Peter (2 Peter 3:2, KJV)

Yes, it is the Biblical Way to Include All (only some closer, “great” or others further, “least”) according to one’s obedience to God’s Commands as even those who ‘break His Commands’ will eventually be ‘in the kingdom of heaven by Christ’s Work Alone’ as it is Written in Verse below (Written in the Context of Breaking any Commands from the Torah & Prophets in Verses 17 – 18 prior which certainly includes the 10 Commandments too – Can you see it?) :

” Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:19, KJV)

‘God is Good All the Time, All the Time God is Good’

Our Prayers for the Salvation of ALL MEN will be answered where believers are more special as these Verses from apostle Paul’s letter (same letter in order) Reveals Majestically Resounding to Lord Jesus Christ’s Absolute Blessed Assurance in Matthew 5:19 quoted prior:

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for ALL MEN; Who will have ALL MEN to be SAVED, and to come unto the KNOWLEDGE of the TRUTH. For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of ALL MEN, specially of those that believe.” apostle Paul (1 Timothy 2:1, 2:4, 4:10, KJV)

The Verb ‘Will Have’ is accurately Translated in the KJV translation above together with the phrase “All Men” clearly distinguished from the phrase “those who believe (Christians, believers)” in Verses above (“Irrefutable Context” as ‘it is Written’ – “Inspired Verses”).

Salvation of All Men His Will – Key of David Mystery

Firstly, Which Prayers are heard and not? (Verse below):

“This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” – apostle John (1 John 5:14, NASB)

An Implicit Assumption Made Clear for Any Prayer Requests in Verse above = ‘if it is according to His (God’s) Will’

Example of a Prayer Request according to His Will?

The ‘Salvation of All Men’ (1 Timothy 2:4, 1 Timothy 4:10) which we ought to pray for (1 Timothy 2:1).

P/S: What’s a ‘Secret (Mystery) of His Will’?

“He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth. In Him.” – apostle Paul (Ephesians 1:9 – 10, NASB)

P/S 2: Did First Christianity understand Ephesians 1:9 – 10 in the same way?

Yes.

Who?

Please consider:

“… Proclaimed through the prophets the dispensations of God, and the advents, and the birth from a virgin, and the passion, and the resurrection from the dead, and the ascension into heaven in the flesh of the beloved Christ Jesus, our Lord, and His [FUTURE] manifestation from heaven in the glory of the Father “to GATHER ALL THINGS in ONE,” and to RAISE UP ANEW ALL FLESH of the WHOLE HUMAN RACE, in order that to Christ Jesus, our Lord, and God, and Saviour, and King, according to the will of the invisible Father, “every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and THINGS UNDER the EARTH, and that every tongue should confess” to Him, …” (Irenaeous, ‘Against Heresies’, Book I, Chapter X.-Unity of the Faith of the Church Throughout the Whole World, Point 1).

Edifying Comments:

Please note this phrase ‘carefully’ in the above —–> “to RAISE UP ANEW ALL FLESH of the

WHOLE HUMAN RACE” —–> including the THINGS UNDER the EARTH or in HELL or LAKE of FIRE or GEHENNA or HADES even now —> which proves Universal Salvation for “All Men”

eventually —-> because the phrase “RAISE UP ANEW ALL FLESH” ——> cannot refer to the

first ‘resurrected flesh for Judgment toward the wicked’ (John 5:28 – 29) —–> simply

because in Irenaeous’ own words, during Judgment, the ‘first resurrection of the wicked for Judgment’ is with their ‘OLD sinful flesh*’ ——-> (and NOT ‘a new flesh’ as it is described

above toward the WHOLE or ALL Human Race eventually proving that for the wicked) —–>

there must be a ‘second resurrection to obtain this HOPE of a NEW FLESH’ (Acts 24:15) as

part of the being MADE ALIVE part of Christ’s Resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:21) which

applies to ALL MEN (1 Corinthians 15:22) including them too.

*(Point 10b later where only the righteous’ Old Flesh is HEALED and the wicked remain in

IDENTICAL BODIES for JUDGMENT without being Healed or Restored to Sinless-ness,

implied).

This is how St. Irenaeous of Lyons himself UNDERSTANDS the Universal Salvation part

pertaining to ALL MEN PROPHETICALLY in his ‘own words’ from the above (agreeing

PERFECTLY to 1 Timothy 2:4 – KJV, 1 Timothy 4:10 and the Sibyline Oracles too – in

obedience to 2 Peter 1:20 as well):

“to GATHER ALL THINGS in ONE,” (Ephesians 1:9 – 10) = “and to RAISE UP ANEW ALL FLESH of the WHOLE HUMAN RACE” (in the Context of All Men, as John 17:2 – 3 means this too as part of God making ALL things NEW in the Context of ALL MEN too, Revelation 21:5).

How do we know, that the above is for the FUTURE, hence a PROPHETIC Statement?

Please note that Irenaeous quotes the Context of Ephesians 1:9 – 10 first, i.e. to ‘Gather All

things in One’ which in Ephesians 1:10 itself records as the ‘dispensation of the fulness of

the times – plural,’ (YLT) —> where these PLURAL – TIMES are in the FUTURE —> because do note the word ‘[FUTURE]’ in the translation above itself when Speaking of this.

Indeed, these things will be accomplished by Him in the ‘FUTURE Manifestation pluralTIMES’ by Him achieving His Will to ‘Gather All things in One in Him’ —> where a special highlight is the Context of ALL MEN or ‘every human being ever created’ —-> where

Irenaeous says Prophetically that it will cause ALL MEN to be MADE ALIVE by Christ in a

NEW RESURRECTED FLESH (‘sinless’, implied in agreement to 1 Corinthians 15:21 – 22,

Romans 5:18 – 19) —> in Irenaeous’ words, ‘RAISE UP ANEW ALL FLESH of the WHOLE

HUMAN RACE’ (eventually).

Since we understand now that SALVATION refers to being RESURRECTED in a SINLESS FLESH to LIVE, a ‘second resurrection’ for the ‘wicked must thus be in place after the second death’ (though the phrase ‘second resurrection for the wicked’ is NOT explicitly stated in Scripture).

The Infamous Verse below which speaks of ALL MEN to be SAVED points to this HOPE too:

“Who [God] WILL HAVE ALL MEN to be SAVED, and to come unto the knowledge of the

truth.” – apostle Paul (1 Timothy 2:4, KJV)

“according as Thou didst give to Him authority over ALL FLESH, that — ALL that Thou hast

GIVEN to Him — He may GIVE to them life age-during;” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 17:2, YLT)

[God] WILL HAVE ALL MEN to be SAVED (1 Timothy 2:4) = ALL MEN will eventually be

Resurrected in a SINLESS FLESH (John 17:2).

Yes, Irenaeous hints that the JUST JUDGMENT of God makes ALL THINGS —-> GOOD

(including the WICKED – please note this word ‘carefully’ in the below – in ‘his own words’):

” has the Lord said: “Judge not, that ye be not judged: for with what judgment ye shall

judge, ye shall be judged.” [The meaning is] not certainly that we should not find fault with

sinners, nor that we should consent to those who act wickedly; but that we should not

pronounce an unfair judgment on the dispensations of God, inasmuch as He has Himself made provision that all things shall turn out for good, in a way consistent with justice.” (Irenaeous of Lyons, ‘Against Heresies’, Book 4, Chapter XXX, Point 3)

Translation Source:

http://www.earlychristianwritings.com/text/irenaeus-book4.html

I repeat, with EMPHASIS in [brackets] too for clarity:

“… has the Lord said: “Judge not, that ye be not judged: for with what judgment ye shall

judge, ye shall be judged.” [The meaning is] NOT certainly that we should NOT find fault

with SINNERS, nor that we should consent to THOSE who act WICKEDLY; but that we should NOT PRONOUNCE an UNFAIR JUDGMENT on the DISPENSATIONS of God, inasmuch as HE has Himself MADE PROVISION that ALL [Created] THINGS SHALL TURN out for GOOD, in a WAY CONSISTENT with JUSTICE. …” (Irenaeous of Lyons, ‘Against Heresies’, Book 4, Chapter XXX, Point 3)

Isn’t it obvious that Irenaeous is explaining that “Pronouncing” the “Fair Judgment of God” —

—> toward SINNERS and the WICKED —–> includes understanding the “dispensations

(time)” God has Prepared —-> to make ALL CREATED THINGS (including these SINNERS and WICKED aforementioned – Context) to be GOOD again —–> (proving that EVIL will cease to exist eventually) —-> in a way which is CONSISTENT with JUSTICE.

Shouldn’t we preach the SAME about the RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT of GOD?

Please note that the ‘first resurrection of Judgment for the wicked’ (John 5:28 – 29) in “ageduring fire” of Gehenna (Matthew 10:28) or Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:11 – 15) is with their OLD BODIES being REUNITED with THEIR SPIRIT (and is NOT Referring to the Second

Resurrection of the Wicked which is implied or referred to earlier in a FLESH which is NEW,

the NEW FLESH being DIFFERENT as God Makes ALL THINGS NEW – Revelation 21:5 – 8,

which is understood to be post this Judgment in the Lake of Fire in these set of Verses too –

implied – as God Wills – discussed prior) as Justin declares below to this Point “accurately” (a ‘fine detail’):

” WE say that the SAME thing will be done, but at the hand of Christ, and upon the WICKED

in the SAME BODIES UNITED AGAIN to THEIR SPIRITS which are now to undergo everlasting

[AGE-DURING] punishment; and not only, as Plato said, for a period of a thousand years.

And if any one say that this is incredible or impossible, this error of ours is one which

concerns ourselves only, and no other person, so long as you cannot convict us of doing any harm.” (Justin Martyr, CHAPTER VIII — CHRISTIANS CONFESS THEIR FAITH IN GOD, First Apology)

Translation Source:

http://www.earlychristianwritings.com/text/justinmartyr-firstapology.html

First Resurrection of the Wicked for Final Judgment (John 5:28 -29) = “WICKED in the SAME BODIES UNITED AGAIN to THEIR SPIRITS which are now to undergo everlasting [AGEDURING] punishment” (Justin Martyr)

P/S 3: The ‘Key of David’ Mystery (Secret)

Irenaeous – Paternal Light of God – True Faith – Christ SAVES from HELL itself

Irenaeos affirms that the Christian Universalist Context of ‘All Things’ to refer to ‘All Created

things’ is right and it implies the SALVATION of MEN even from HELL or the ‘regions under

the earth’ too.

“Truly, then, the Scripture declared, which says, “First of all believe that there is one God,

who has established ALL THINGS, and completed them, and having caused that from what had no being, ALL THINGS should come into EXISTENCE:

“He who contains ALL THINGS, and

is Himself contained by no one.

Rightly also has Malachi said among the prophets: “Is it not one God who hath established us? Have we not all one Father? ”

In accordance with this, too, does the apostle say, “There is one God, the Father, who is above all, and in us all.” Likewise does the Lord also say:

“ALL THINGS are delivered to Me by My Father; ” manifestly by Him who MADE ALL THINGS; for He did not deliver to Him the things of another, but His own. But in ALL THINGS [it is implied that] NOTHINGS has been KEPT BACK [from Him], and for this reason the same person is the Judge of the living and THE DEAD;

“having the key of David: He shall Open, and no man shall shut: He shall shut, and no man

shall open.” For no one was able, either in heaven or in earth, or UNDER THE EARTH, to

OPEN the BOOK of the FATHER, or to behold Him, with the EXCEPTION of the LAMB who

was slain, and who redeemed us with His own Blood, receiving POWER over ALL THINGS

from the same God who made ALL THINGS by the Word, and adorned them by [His] Wisdom, when “the Word was made flesh; “that even as the Word of God had the SOVEREIGNTY in the heavens, so also might He have the SOVEREIGNTY in earth, inasmuch

as [He was] a righteous man, “who did no sin, neither was there found guile in His mouth; ”

and that He might have the pre-eminence over THOSE THINGS which are UNDER THE

EARTH, He Himself being made “the first-begotten of the dead; ” and that ALL THINGS, as I have ALREADY SAID, might behold THEIR KING; and that the PATERNAL LIGHT might meet with and rest upon the flesh of our Lord, and come to us from His resplendent flesh, and that thus MAN might attain to IMMORTALITY, having been invested with the PATERNAL LIGHT.” (Irenaeous, ‘Against Heresies’, Book 4, Chapter XX, Point 2)

Translation Source:

http://www.earlychristianwritings.com/text/irenaeus-book4.html

Please note these words ‘carefully’ from the above which hints on Christ Saving from HELL, often termed as the ‘regions under the earth’ (now it’s HADES’ punishment regions but in the future this can refer to the LAKE of FIRE regions):

‘THOSE THINGS which are UNDER THE EARTH’ —->and that ALL THINGS —> as I have

ALREADY SAID, might behold their THEIR KING; and that the PATERNAL LIGHT —–> ‘that thus MAN might attain to IMMORTALITY’.

Deep, isn’t it?

St. Irenaeous clearly quotes the “Key of David” Mystery (as described above) in the Context of Universal Salvation and we understand it likewise too.

Judgment Details – An Edifying Comment

Will all be born again eventually?

Being Born Again applies to all creation eventually sir (Romans 8:22) where believers are more special during being born again in that they become sons of God (‘Sheepfold1’ , Romans 8:19), understood to be His Church which becomes the Ruler over all creation too under Christ (Ephesians 1:22).

I believe in Hell (hades now and Lake of Fire or Gehenna later) and I also believe in the Salvation from Hell by Christ at any time (Hosea 13:14) as evidenced by the spiritual visions of Sadhu Sundar Singh (Christian Universalist) agreeing to the Spiritual Visions granted in the Shepherd of Hermas too.

When a unbelieving person dies, their soul goes to Hades (as per the Rich Man & Lazarus Story – as even if it’s a parable, it cannot use depiction based on things that doesn’t exist). If the unbelieving person is relatively good (but just did not believe) as per the Shepherd of Hermas Vision, I believe they will get to hear the Gospel there (1 Peter 4:6) and be saved as ‘Sheepfold2’. The Dead in 1 Peter 4:6 is the ‘same dead’ as 1 Peter 4:5 (Context).

The rest of the wicked remain there in Hades till Judgment Day where these will be resurrected in their ‘old bodies’ and cast to Gehenna (Lake of Fire) for the final Punishment and Cleansing (‘judged in the flesh’, 1 Peter 4:6) where their ‘spirit will be saved’ (1 Peter 4:6, at that future Day of Lord Jesus, 1 Corinthians 5:5 – which was Written under the assumption that ‘if this man never repented’ though later this man may have repented’ so we get a glimpse of apostle Paul’s understanding of afterlife Judgment if a person never repents in 1 Corinthians 5:5).

I believe in the body, soul, spirit definition as given by St. Justin Martyr where he says that the body is the house of the soul while the soul is the house of the spirit.

Hence when Christ says that Body and Soul can be destroyed in Gehenna (identified as equal to the Lake of Fire by St. Irenaeous who was a hearer of Polycarp who in turn was a hearer of John who wrote about the Lake of Fire in the Book of Revelation), then the ‘spirit being saved’ (makes sense) in both 1 Peter 4:6 and 1 Corinthians 5:5 literally where this spirit may be ‘resurrected in a new body’ (as per the general Verses of Promise toward ‘all men or all flesh’ such as John 17:2 or 1 Corinthians 15:20 – 23, 1 Timothy 4:10).

Please note that St. Justin Martyr clearly identifies that the ‘Resurrection for Judgment’ of the Wicked (John 5:28 – 29) is in the ‘same old body’ meaning that the Resurrection Promised in a ‘New (sinless) body’ (1 Corinthians 15:20 – 23) must refer to ‘after that’ (in spirit, after both body + soul is destroyed in Gehenna) as even St. Irenaeous echoes this Hope of RESURRECTION in a NEW FLESH is toward ALL FLESH toward the WHOLE HUMAN RACE (as the quote in post describes – Context).

Sheepfold2

Gospel Preached to Some of the Dead – Sheepfold2

Sheepfold2 = Those who believed in Lord Jesus Christ in the Spirit World after seeing or encountering Him there (John 6:40, Mystery of John 3:14 – 15).

Really?

Yes.

Here’s a reliable “Christian Vision of the Spirit World” , to quote :

Sadhu Sundar Singh’s explanation in his vision regarding the “soul” of a ‘non-Christian philosopher upon death’ agrees with Purgatorial Hell Universalism, to quote:

“DEATH OF A PHILOSOPHER

The soul of a German philosopher entered into the world of spirits and saw from afar the incomparable glory of the spiritual world, and the boundless happiness of its people.

He was delighted with what he saw, but his stubborn intellectualism stood in the way of his entering into it, and enjoying its happiness.

Instead of admitting that it was real, he argued thus with himself, “There is no doubt at all that I see all this, but what proof is there that it has objective existence, and is not some illusion conjured up by my mind?

From end to end of all this scene I will apply the tests of logic, philosophy and science, and then only will I be convinced that it has a reality of its own, and is no illusion.”

Then the angels answered him, “It is evident from your speech that your intellectualism has warped your whole nature, for as spiritual, and not bodily, eyes are needed to see the spiritual world, so spiritual understanding is necessary to comprehend its reality, and not mental exercises in the fundamentals of logic and philosophy.

Your science that deals with material facts has been left behind with your physical skull and brain in the World. Here, only that spiritual wisdom is of use which arises out of the fear and love of God.”

Then said one of the angels to another, “What a pity it is that people forget that precious word of our Lord, ‘Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall in no wise enter into the Kingdom of Heaven’ (Matt. 18:3).

I asked one of the angels what the end of this man would be, and he replied “If this man’s life had been altogether bad, then he would at once have joined the spirits of darkness, but he is not without a moral sense, so for a very long time he will wander blindly round in the dim light of the lower parts of the intermediate state, and keep on bumping his philosophical head, until tired of his foolishness, he repents.

Then he will be ready to receive the necessary instruction from the angels appointed for that purpose, and, when instructed, will he be fit to enter into the fuller light of God in the higher sphere.”

In one sense the whole of infinite space, filled as it is with the presence of God, who is Spirit, is a spiritual world. In another sense, the World also is a spiritual world, for its inhabitants are spirits clothed with human bodies. But there is yet another world of spirits after they leave the body at death.

This is an intermediate state — a state between the glory and light of the highest heavens, and the dimness and darkness of the lowest hells. In it are innumerable planes of existence, and the soul is conducted to that plane for which its progress in the World has fitted it. There, angels especially appointed to this work, instruct it for a time, that may be long or short, before it goes on to join the society of those spirits — good spirits in the greater light, or evil spirits in the greater darkness — that are like in nature and in mind to itself.”

Sheepfold2 – Good Idolaters?

Sadhu Sundar Singh clearly Reveals that he saw an idolater (who was ‘sincerely wrong in believing in idols’) being Forgiven by Lord Jesus Christ and Saved in the afterlife as ‘Sheepfold2’.

To Quote (this Vision):

THE MANIFESTATION OF CHRIST

I saw in a vision the spirit of an idolater on reaching the world of spirits begin at once to search for his god. Then the saints said to him, “There is no god here save the One True God, and Christ, who is His manifestation.” At this, the man was a good deal astonished, but being a sincere seeker after truth, he frankly admitted that he had been in error. He eagerly sought to know the correct view of truth, and asked if he might see the Christ. Shortly after this Christ manifested Himself in a dim light to him, and to others who had newly arrived in the world of spirits, because at this stage they could not have endured a full exhibition of His glory, for His glory is so surpassing that even the angels look on Him with difficulty, and cover their faces with their wings (Isaiah 6:9). When He does reveal Himself to any one He takes into account the particular stage of progress to which that soul has attained, so He appears dimly, or in the fuller light of His glory, that the sight of Him may be endured. So, when these spirits saw Christ in this dim but attractive light, they were filled with a joy and peace, which is beyond our power to describe. Bathed in the rays of His life-giving light, and with the waves of His love, which constantly flow out from Him, flowing over them, all their error was washed away. Then with all their hearts, they acknowledged Him as the Truth, and found healing, and, bowing in lowly adoration before Him, thanked and praised Him. And the saints, who had been appointed for their instruction; also rejoiced over them.

Sheepfold2 – Good Muslims?

Please note that Sadhu Sundar Singh approved Swedenborg’s Visions of Heaven and Hell though NOT necessarily Swedenborg’s Theological Errors (as shown in Image).

Both Sadhu Sundar Singh and Swedenborg have a common ground in their visions in that they saw ‘non-Christians who lived a relatively Biblical moral life being Saved in the afterlife after they endure their afterlife Judgments’.

To quote (this time from Swedenborg’s approved section of the Vision base on its agreement to Sundar Singh’s – in this ‘Context’):

Page 426:

“Behind these are the places where those are taught who died in adult age, and who in the world had an affection for truth derived from good of life. Again, behind these are those who in the world were connected with the Mohammedan religion, and lived a moral life and acknowledged one Divine, and the Lord as the very Prophet. When these withdraw from Mohammed, because he can give them no help, they approach the Lord and worship him and acknowledge his Divinity, and they are then instructed in the Christian religion. Behind these more to the north are the places of instruction of various heathen nations who in the world have lived a good life in conformity with their religion, and have thereby acquired a kind of conscience, and have done what is just and right not so much from a regard to the laws of their government, as from a regard to the laws of religion, which they believed ought to be sacredly observed, and in no way violated by their doings. When these have been taught they are all easily led to acknowledge the Lord, because it is impressed on their hearts that God is not invisible, but is visible under a human form. These in number exceed all the rest, and the best of them are from Africa.

But all are not taught in the same way, nor by the same societies of heaven. Those that have been brought up from childhood in heaven, not having imbibed falsities from the falsities of religion or defiled their spiritual life with the dregs pertaining to honors and riches in the world, receive instruction from the angels of the interior heavens; while those that have died in adult age receive instruction mainly from angels of the lowest heaven, because these angels are better suited to them than the angels of the interior heavens, who are in interior wisdom which is not yet acceptable to them. But the Mohammedans receive instruction from angels who had been previously in the same religion and had been converted to Christianity. The heathen, too, are taught by their angels.”

Page 427:

“All teaching there is from doctrine drawn from the Word, and not from the Word apart from doctrine. Christians are taught from heavenly doctrine, which is in entire agreement with the internal sense of the Word. All others, as the Mohammedans and heathen, are taught from doctrines suited to their apprehension, which differ from heavenly doctrine only in this, that spiritual life is taught by means of moral life in harmony with the good tenets of their religion from which they had derived their life in the world. 517. Instruction in the heavens differs from instruction on earth in that knowledges are not committed to memory, but to life; for the memory of spirits is in their life, for they receive and imbibe everything that is in harmony with their life, and do not receive, still less imbibe, what is not in harmony with it; for spirits are affections, and are therefore in a human form that is similar to their affections. [2] Being such they are constantly animated by an affection for truth that looks to the uses of life; for the Lord provides for everyone’s loving the uses suited to his genius; and that love is exalted by the hope of becoming an angel. And as all the uses of heaven have relation to the general use, which is the good of the Lord’s kingdom, which in heaven is the fatherland, and as all special and particular uses are to be valued in proportion as they more closely and fully have regard to that general use, so all of these special and particular uses, which are innumerable, are good and heavenly; therefore in everyone an affection for truth is so conjoined with an affection for use that the two make one; and thereby truth is so implanted in use that the truths they acquire are truths of use. In this way are angelic spirits taught and prepared for heaven.”

“For God has shut up all in disobedience so that He may show mercy to all. Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!” – apostle Paul (Romans 11:32 – 33, NASB)

or in the other Manuscript:

“For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that He might have mercy upon all. O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!” – apostle Paul (Romans 11:32 – 33, KJV)

Hell Logic

The main concern here is regarding God sending to Hell for what reason?

It’s because of our sins where the ones we have wronged will demand it (as per the ’till the last penny’ explanation implies in Scripture) & not because Christ wants to hold their sin (as He Judges no one).

However, unconditional love is not forced upon anyone and we have a choice to forgive or not (in cases where we are innocent) and the level of strictness vs mercy we practice will be the type of Judgment we receive toward ourselves as well except in the case of believers where we don’t endure any afterlife Judgment at all.

So, some Christians forgive their persecutors fully like Stephen while other righteous persons demand vengeance for their blood which is wronged (like Abel) where the Wrath of God is understood in the Book of Revelation as fulfilling the demands of these latter ones.

Thus it is clear that Hell exists till the last penny be it in Hades or in the Final Lake of Fire not because God is Avenging for Himself but rather because He allows those wrong doers to experience back the same pain & suffering they caused toward others as demanded by those who are wronged till the last penny.

The accurate Judgment-part weighed against Mercy will be fairly measured and meted out by Lord Jesus Christ Himself.

In the end, as even the Sibyline Oracles, Apocalypse of Peter / Elias and other ancient First Christian visions imply, the prayers of the righteous will be answered and even the damned (though they be sentenced ‘eternally to the Lake of Fire’) will be Saved by God upon their ‘prayer requests’.

The prayer requests of the righteous for God to Save the wicked clearly shows that both the Salvation of the Wicked & their Punishment is determined by how the wronged ones (usually the righteous) want revenge or forgive. God grants their wish accordingly till the last penny.

Hence it makes sense that the Law and Prophets (including its Judgement & Punishment Principles) are all about ‘how we treat another’ which applies in the Context of Anticipated Punishments too as many may demand against those who wronged them.

Hell sentence is long because the effect of sin is continuous like the ‘Butterfly Effect’.

For example, a person cheats in the exam and gets a higher score and eventually an employment in a good company causing an actually better candidate than him to not get it.

The effect of the suffering of that better candidate losing this opportunity due to the unfairness of the first candidate’s cheating will be present and accumulated for Judgment unless one repents or God has Mercy.

Similarly a business man may think that it is a small thing that he cheated on a short-lasting fake car part. This low quality car part may contribute toward an accident causing another person to die. The pain of that family say growing without a father or husband may be passed on as afterlife Judgment as demanded by the deceased who will know of the cause of his untimely death or suffering when all secrets are revealed on Judgment Day.

Hence this examples illustrate that Hell Sentences can be very long due to the accumulated effects of our sins and its cause toward others especially when others choose to retain them. So, we must ‘treat others the same way we wish to be treated’ as the Law & Prophets Teach to avoid serious Judgments against us on Judgment Day unless we have repented & believed in Lord Jesus Christ on earth itself which profits the cancellation of all afterlife Judgment.

As Scripture records hints on this Judgment Day Scenarios such as ‘It is Abraham who will accuse those who quote him wrongly’, ‘the Queen of the South will Condemn this unrepentant generation despite the signs given’, etc.

Each person can choose to Love Unconditionally (as Christ, e. g. Stephen the first martyr) or demand judgment for their persecutors when they are right (e. g. Abel or Polycarp) and no one can interfere into another’s case where they are not related.

So, if you preach unconditional love, you may practice it toward those who wrong you only and cannot demand it out of others who suffered likewise or more & demand judgment (a choice between perfection-the-former or good-Judgment-equal-retribution till the last penny first’).

That’s how I understand it as if you read my recent posts in www.AnonymousChristian.org the Verses for each claim is listed there.

Visions of the ‘spirit world’ is Biblical though very rare during New Testament times as even apostle Paul quotes it once only, in verse below:

“Boasting is necessary, though it is not profitable; but I will go on to visions and revelations of the Lord. I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago—whether in the body I do not know, or out of the body I do not know, God knows—such a man was caught up to the third heaven. And I know how such a man—whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, God knows— was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which a man is not permitted to speak. On behalf of such a man I will boast; but on my own behalf I will not boast, except in regard to my weaknesses.” – apostle Paul (2 Corinthians 12:1 – 5, NASB)

Conclusion

The Verses above allows us to boast about such Visions and Revelations given by our Blessed Lord to such men of God (e. g. Sundar Singh).

In particular, please note carefully that Sadhu Sundar Singh’s Visions regarding the “Gospel preached to the dead” (1 Peter 4:6) and the existence of Sheepfold2 (John 10:16) referring to those who ‘died unbelieving but were of Biblical Morals in life’ (“good works/moral”) and only accepted the Lord in the spirit World after seeing or encountering Him (John 6:40, John 3:14 – 15) is similar to the ‘Shepherd of Hermas Book’s Visions’ too in this aspect as quoted below (in the context of Sheepfold2):

Example, to quote (regarding afterlife Judgment and Repentance – Mystery of the Gospel being Preached to the Dead, 1 Peter 3:18 – 19, 1 Peter 4:5 – 6):

15[92]:2 “It was necessary for them,” saith he, “to rise up through water, that they might be made alive; for otherwise they could not enter into the kingdom of God, except they had put aside the deadness of their [former] life.

15[92]:3 So these likewise that had fallen asleep received the seal of the Son of God and entered into the kingdom of God. For before a man,” saith he, “has borne the name of [the Son of] God, he is dead; but when he has received the seal, he layeth aside his deadness, and resumeth life.

15[92]:4 The seal then is the water: so they go down into the water dead, and they come up alive. “thus to them also this seal was preached, and they availed themselves of it that they might enter into the kingdom of God.”

15[92]:5 “Wherefore, Sir,” say I, “did the forty stones also come up with them from the deep, though they had already received the seal?” “Because,” saith he, “these, the apostles and the teachers who preached the name of the Son of God, after they had fallen asleep in the power and faith of the Son of God, preached also to them that had fallen asleep before them, and themselves gave unto them the seal of the preaching.

15[92]:6 Therefore they went down with them into the water, and came up again. But these went down alive [and again came up alive]; whereas the others that had fallen asleep before them went down dead and came up alive.

15[92]:7 So by their means they were quickened into life, and came to the full knowledge of the name of the Son of God. For this cause also they came up with them, and were fitted with them into the building of the tower and were builded with them, without being shaped; for they fell asleep in righteousness and in great purity. Only they had not this seal. Thou hast then the interpretation of these things also.” “I have, Sir,” say I.

Comment

The phrase “for they fell asleep in righteousness and in great purity. Only they had not this seal” together with the phrase “came to the full knowledge of the name of the Son of God” with the phrase “others that had fallen asleep before them went down dead and came up alive” ——> with the phrase “to rise up through water, that they might be made alive; for otherwise they could not enter into the kingdom of God, except they had put aside the deadness of their [former] life” —> seem to point 🤔 to “the Sheepfold2” (John 10:16) which refers to the “righteous in good works (e. g. John 5:28 – 29, Daniel 12:2) who died without believing in Christ” but believed in Him ‘after seeing Him, John 6:40 (in the afterlife too, implied in John 3:14 – 15)’ .

Yes, The Shepherd of Hermas Writing (which is only next to New Testament Scripture as even Irenaeous, Pope Callixtus I, Tertullian, Clement of Alexandria have endorsed it) clearly records the Gospel being Preached to ‘certain dead’ who ‘died in Good deeds’ but did NOT believe in Christ during their earthly lives prior, as they didn’t have the Seal of God.

The Shepherd of Hermas is NOT discussing Christ’s Descent but some 40 apostles + teachers who after they died, went into the afterlife abodes to ‘convert these’.

Please note that St. Irenaeous of Lyons called the Shepherd of Hermas Writing Scripture as even both Tertullian and Pope Callixtus I also found it worthy to be included among the Books of the Bible. The Muratorian Cannon describes that the Shepherd of Hermas ought to be read but not Publically in Church probably because as Christ Said, “don’t cast pearls to swine” toward those who may not appreciate it.

Truly:

“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 12:32, NASB)

I repeat with emphasis:

“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw ALL MEN to Myself.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 12:32, NASB)

Yes, please note the phrase “ALL MEN” carefully in Verse above uttered by the Savior Himself. Please don’t twist the Saviour’s Word in Verse above and come under unnecessary Judgment because if Christ wanted to mean ‘believers only’, He could have used such phrases which He employs while discussing things pertaining to ‘believers only’ (throughout the Gospels) but He did NOT in Verse above which may be understood by apostle Paul’s Conclusion Verse contrasting believers being a more special subset from all men as follows too:

“For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed OUR HOPE on the LIVING GOD , who is the SAVIOR of ALL MEN, especially of BELIEVERS.” – apostle Paul (1 Timothy 4:10, NASB)

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.” – God Speaks in (Isaiah 55:9, NASB)

Sibyline Oracles – Should a Christian Read it?

Here are the Facts from First Christianity

1) St. Justin Martyr

St. Justin Martyr Commanded to not only read it but preach it

To quote:

“But by the agency of the devils death has been decreed against those who read the books of Hystaspes, or of the SIBYL, or of the prophets, that through fear they may prevent men who read them from receiving the knowledge of the good, and may retain them in slavery to themselves; which, however, they could not always effect. For not only do we fearlessly read them, but, as you see, bring them for your inspection, knowing that their contents will be pleasing to all. And if we persuade even a few, our gain will be very great; for, as good husbandmen, we shall receive the reward from the Master.” – St. Justin Martyr (First Apology)

Translation Source:

2) St. Clement of Alexandria

St. Clement of Alexandria Reveals that Apostle Paul himself commanded a Christian to read the sibyl too ‘verbally’

To quote:

“Take also the Hellenic books, read the SIBYL, how it is shown that God is one, and how the future is indicated. And taking Hystaspes, read, and you will find much more luminously and distinctly the Son of God described, and how many kings shall draw up their forces against Christ, hating Him and those that bear His name, and His faithful ones, and His patience, and His coming.” – Apostle Paul’s Verbal Command (as reiterated by St. Clement of Alexandria)

(Stromata, VI.5; 43, 1 (p. 453, 3 Stählin), quotation of Paul the Apostle, but otherwise unknown)

3) Lactantius

Lactantius, Epitome, 73:

“Wherefore, since all these things are true and certain, in harmony with the predicted announcement of the prophets, since Trismegistus and Hystaspes and the SIBYLS have foretold the same things, it cannot be doubted that all hope of life and salvation is placed in the religion of God alone.”

4) Other Early Authoritative Church Leaders

Which other authoritative Church Leaders from First Christianity endorsed the SIBYL (Sibyline Oracles) as a ‘Christian Prophecy’ regarding understanding the Book of Revelation too?

To quote (in image too):

“The sibyls themselves, and the so-called Sibylline oracles, were often referred to by other early Church fathers; Theophilus, Bishop of Antioch (ca. 180), Clement of Alexandria (ca. 200), Lactantius (ca. 305), and Augustine (ca. 400), all knew various versions of the pseudo-Sibylline collections, quoted them or referred to them in paraphrase, and were unreluctant to Christianize them.”

5) Book II

How about Book II which speaks of the Reconciliation from the Lake of Fire Interpretation for possibly Revelation 22:17’s Context?

To quote:

“… Books I and II are regarded as a Christian revision of a Jewish original … Books I, II, XI, XII, XIII, and XIV received their present form from a Christian…”

6) Universal Salvation Passage in Book II

Salvation (Reconciliation) from the Lake of Fire Context for Revelation 22:17 toward ‘anyone thirsty from the Lake of Fire too’:

“… And to the pious will the almighty God

405 Imperishable grant another thing,

When they shall ask the imperishable God:

That he will suffer men from raging fire

And endless gnawing anguish to be saved;

And this will he do. For hereafter he

410 Will pluck them from the restless flame, elsewhere. Remove them, and for his own people’s sakeSend them to other and eternal life With the immortals, in Elysian field, …”

7) Authority of Doctrine?

A Common Objection

‘The oracles may have been accepted by various Christians does not make them authoritative. There were all sorts of heresies that many Christians believed – but that didn’t make them true. If the oracles were authoritative, God would have assured their inclusion in the canon of scripture. Otherwise, we’re all free to add any mixed bag of nonsense that happens to tickle our fancy: Mormon, JWs, New Age, you name it. Who is to say what you’ve embraced is any more authoritative than what anyone else has decided to mingle with scripture, or replace scripture with? Without an anchor for what is authoritative, anything goes.’

Reply

Sibyline oracles has more credence than following church leaders private interpretation and it was accepted in First Christianity (1st to 3rd century) before man made teachings interpreted the Lake of Fire Revelation 22:17 differently.

It’s authoritative as even the eternal Hell commentator on it in the early century acknowledges that passage & denies its content by condemning Origen of Alexandria explicitly to teach it.

So, in the own commentator as preserved by the eternal hell camp thereafter, clearly endorses both the Sibyline Oracle and that passage as authentic but just denies the plain meaning.

Please read carefully in Image or in translation source below (see Point 8).

Later councils only endorsed things worthy to be in the Bible but that does not mean that they denied other Christian writings such as the Shepherd of Hermas and Sibyline oracles are ‘certainly endorsed’ (never been denied by any church council).

They just believe their own interpretations instead of what’s plainly written.

8) Unbelief

Why majority of Christians after the First Christianity period (1st to 3rd Century) cease to believe it?

Explanation:

Please note that this is a commentary added and NOT part of the original Oracle as quoted prior

404-416.–This passage, which savors of a final restoration from future punishment, has been thought to be contrary to orthodox teaching; and we find appended to some manuscripts the following lines, headed, “Contradiction of the ‘To the pious will the Almighty,'” and professedly a disproof of the doctrine of Origen on this subject:

False manifestly; for the penal fire

Shall never cease from those who are condemned.

For also I might pray to have it thus,

Branded with greatest scars of trespasses,

Which need more kindness. But let Origen

Of his presumptuous babble be ashamed,

Saying there shall be end of punishments.

  1. Elysian field.–In Homer (Od., iv, 563) the Elysian fields are represented as situated on the western border of the earth by the ocean stream. Hesiod (Works and Days, 169) speaks of “the Isles of the blessed, beside {footnote p. 52} deep-eddying ocean.” But later, and with the Roman poets, Elysium was in the lower world, the blessed part of Hades, and is here conceived as bordering on the Acheronian lake.]

Conclusion

You are choosing to believe the commentator who though against that passage but endorses it as First Christianity’s Truth while we believe it as it is Written .

Well, the infamous passages from St. Augustine himself reveals that Universalism was the majority doctrine in his own place before eternal hell became dominant over sweeping down the carpet the authority of First Christianity passages such as above, to quote

Augustine (354-430 A.D.), ‘one of the four great Latin Church Fathers (Augustine, Ambrose, Jerome and Gregory the Great), wrote:

“There are very many in our day, who though not denying the Holy Scriptures, do not believe in endless torments.”

Augustine’s Eternal Hell Exegesis, to quote:

‘It is quite in vain, then, that some–indeed very many–yield to merely human feelings and deplore the notion of the eternal punishment of the damned and their interminable and perpetual misery. They do not believe that such things will be. Not that they would go counter to divine Scripture–but, yielding to their own human feelings, they soften what seems harsh and give a milder emphasis to statements they believe are meant more to terrify than to express the literal truth. “God will not forget,” they say, “to show mercy, nor in his anger will he shut up his mercy.” This is, in fact, the text of a holy psalm.237 But there is no doubt that it is to be interpreted to refer to those who are called “vessels of mercy,”238 those who are freed from misery not by their own merits but through God’s mercy. Even so, if they suppose that the text applies to all men, there is no ground for them further to suppose that there can be an end for those of whom it is said, “Thus these shall go into everlasting punishment.”239 Otherwise, it can as well be thought that there will also be an end to the happiness of those of whom the antithesis was said: “But the righteous into life eternal.’

Is Augustine calling such Universal Salvation in Christ believers as heretics?

No, certainly not.

Augustine didn’t call them heretics, but those who endorsed Scripture (his phrase “who though not denying the Holy Scriptures,”) but yet did NOT believe in eternal Hell (his phrase: “do not believe in endless torments”).

Augustine’s mistake is to limit God’s Mercy toward vessels of mercy because it is clearly written in Holy Scripture to be promised to “All” and not Christians only (in Romans 11:32 as the Conclusion of All Judgment of God) in the context of including both the ‘obedient and disobedient eventually’ (Romans 11:30 – 31, Consecutive Verses prior, ‘Proper Context as apostle Paul himself used it).

Please note carefully that though the Sentence be ‘eternal’ , God’s Mercy is Promised to “All” eventually (Romans 11:30 – 32, 1 Timothy 2:6) causing ‘any Judgment Sentence to be Triumphed Over Rejoicingly (i. e. ‘Cancelled’, James 2:13) yielding the ‘Final Reconciliation from the Lake of Fire even’ (Revelation 22:17) as the Sibyline Oracles Clearly Prophesy in Book II as explained prior as well.

Also, the Sibyline oracle part shows that you are believing the commentator (who has his ‘own interpretation’ against what is plainly written) while we believe the content as it is Written as per First Christianity.

Please notice also carefully (in point 8 above) that the eternal Hell commentator endorses the Universal Salvation passage in Sibyline Oracles Book II to be authentic but just doesn’t believe what’s plainly written. Can you see it?

Peace to you

P/S: How do I see the Sibyline Oracles matching the Bibllical Prophecies?

Please consider the key prophecies demonstrated in the post below with possible Verse matching for further edification:

Universal Salvation in Christ – Does God Change?

No.

God doesn’t change in Time.

The ‘Eternal Hell’ Judgment Sentence tells what we deserve but Holy Scripture Reveals God Triumphing over Judgment (James 2:13) with Mercy toward “All” eventually (Romans 11:32) toward both the ‘obedient and disobedient’ (Verses prior, Context in Romans 11:30 – 31).

Revelation 22:17, He Prophesied the Reconciliation and the Punishment (Revelation 21:8) as He said, ’till the Last Penny only’ in a Parable relating to the Final Judgment (Matthew 5:26, Luke 12:59).

Also, it is He Who said He Will Draw All Men back to Him (John 12:32) and give eternal or age-during life to All Men or All Flesh or All Humanity eventually (John 17:2, 1 Timothy 2:1,4, 6 , 1 Timothy 4:10, Matthew 5:19).

Love Deepest – How to Love Unconditionally?

Only Lord Jesus Christ Will do that Perfectly as He Reconciles All Created Things back to Himself eventually (Colossians 1:16, 20) and Saves the World! (1 John 4:14), yes NOT just ‘Christians only’ (1 John 2:2) but ‘All Creation too will be Born Again Eventually’ (this aspect is shared by all creation, Romans 8:22).

“And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” – apostle John (1 John 2:2, KJV)

“For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.” – apostle Paul (Romans 8:22, KJV)

The Sealing Prophecy of Universal Salvation is as follows (the Repentance and Return of All Rational Beings Swearing Allegiance back to Him eventually):

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every Name: That at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the Glory of God the Father.” – apostle Paul (Philippians 2:9 – 11, KJV)

The phrase “things under the earth” refers to “repentance from Hellish regions itself” eventually.

P/S: Did First Christianity understand the “under the earth” phrase and Philippians 2:9 – 11 in the Universal Salvation Context?

Yes, to quote:

Another Quote:

Truly, then, the Scripture declared, which says, “First of all believe that there is one God,

who has established ALL THINGS, and completed them, and having caused that from what had no being, ALL THINGS should come into EXISTENCE:

“He who contains ALL THINGS, and

is Himself contained by no one.

Rightly also has Malachi said among the prophets: “Is it not one God who hath established us? Have we not all one Father? ”

In accordance with this, too, does the apostle say, “There is one God, the Father, who is above all, and in us all.” Likewise does the Lord also say:

“ALL THINGS are delivered to Me by My Father; ” manifestly by Him who MADE ALL THINGS; for He did not deliver to Him the things of another, but His own. But in ALL THINGS [it is implied that] NOTHINGS has been KEPT BACK [from Him], and for this reason the same person is the Judge of the living and THE DEAD;

Here’s An Edifying Comment Regarding the Sibyline Oracles and those who believe or reject it:

A handful of those professing to be Christians believed it.

Reply

Handful but First.

The later councils who endorses eternal hell also endorse ‘praying to Mary’.

So majority means nothing as compared to First Christianity as none of the ones I quoted has any prayer to Mary writings for example.

Though a minority, that’s how we know for example that Prayers to Mary is not First Christianity as Protestant movements against it are right.

Likewise for the Universal Salvation vs Eternal Hell.

Another Edifying Comment:

No Contradictions in Exegesis here. Scripture interprets Scripture, as “all men” is different from “believers” (1 Timothy 4:10) in ‘Factual Statements’ (John 12:32, John 17:2).

You argue contradictions from ‘your own assumptions’. God’s Word is clear (1 John 2:2, 1 Timothy 4:10). God’s Mercy can End any afterlife Judgment Sentence (James 2:13, God’s Word Says it refuting the opinion that His Judgment cannot be ended by His Mercy, Romans 11:30 – 32 too as explained).

Yes, His Mercy can End any afterlife Judgment Sentence that we deserve be it the ‘eternal Hell’ sentence because it is Written that though ‘Judgment without Mercy must be endured first by some’ (first part of James 2:13) but yet, the Final Word is:

‘Mercy Triumphs over Judgment’ (second part of James 2:13, NASB)

Meaning that His Mercy is Greater than Judgment and can END it by TRIUMPHING over it ‘rejoicingly’ (KJV).

Peace to you

Sibyline Oracles – Judgment Day – Sheepfold1 sheepfold2 wicked

1) Sheepfold1 and Sheepfold2

To quote (from Book II – Judgment Day Vision):

“45 For all men in the world, and have the fame

Of immortality. And every people

Shall then in the immortal contests strive

For splendid victory. For no one there

Can shamelessly with silver buy a crown.

50 For unto them will the pure Christ adjudge

That which is due, and crown the ones approved, And give his martyrs an immortal prize who carry on the contest unto death.

And unto chaste men who run their race well

55 Will he the incorruptible reward

Of the prize give, and to all men allot

That which is due, and also to strange nations

That live a holy life and know one God.

And those who have regard for marriages

60 And keep themselves far from adulteries,

To them rich gifts, eternal hope, he’ll give.”

Translation Source:

https://www.sacred-texts.com/cla/sib/sib04.htm

From the above, please note carefully:

Sheepfold1 = believers in Faith of Lord Jesus Christ = the phrase “crown the ones approved”

Sheepfold2 = those who did good works though they did not believe in the True God = the phrases “and also to strange nations That live a holy life and know one God” & “And those who have regard for marriages 60 And keep themselves far from adulteries, To them rich gifts, eternal hope, he’ll give”

2) Works of the Righteous

What are the “Works” which will Describe the Righteous upon whom God Will Save on that Day to be spared from the Lake of Fire?

The Sibyline Oracles lists it as follows (Described in Great Detail), please consider (from the same Book II’s translation source prior), to quote:

“65 A life of probity. Be satisfied

With what thou hast and keep thyself from that

Which is another’s. Speak not what is false,

But have a care for all things that are true.

Revere not idols vainly; but the God

40 Imperishable honor always first,

And next thy parents. Render all things due,

And into unjust judgment come thou not.

Do not cast out the poor unrighteously,

Nor judge by outward show; if wickedly

75 Thou judgest, God hereafter will judge thee.

Avoid false testimony; tell the truth.

Maintain thy virgin purity, and guard

Love among all. Deal measures that are just;

For beautiful is measure full to all.

80 Strike not the scales oneside, but draw them equal.

Forswear not ignorantly nor willingly;

God hates the perjured man in that he swore.

A gift proceeding out of unjust deeds

Never receive in hand. Do not steal seed;

85 Accursed through many generations he

Who took it unto scattering of life.

Indulge not vile lusts, slander not, nor kill.

Give the toilworn his hire; do not afflict

The poor man. Unto orphans help afford

90 And to widows and the needy.

Talk with sense;Hold fast in heart a secret. Be unwilling To act unjustly nor yet tolerate

Unrighteous men. Give to the poor at once

And say not, “Come to-morrow.” Of thy grain

95 Give to the needy with perspiring hand.

He who gives alms knows how to lend to God.

Mercy redeems from death when judgment comes.

Not sacrifice, but mercy God desires

Rather than sacrifice. The naked clothe,

100 Share thy bread with the hungry, in thy houseReceive the shelterless and lead the blind.

Pity the shipwrecked; for the voyage is

Uncertain. To the fallen give a hand;

And save the man that stands without defense.

105 Common to all is suffering, life’s a wheel,

Riches unstable. Having wealth, reach out

To the poor thy hand. Of what God gave to thee

Bestow thou also on the needy one.

Common is the whole life of mortal men;

110 But it comes out unequal. When thou seest

A poor man never banter him with words,

Nor harshly accost a man who may be blamed.

One’s life in death is proven; if one did

The unlawful or just, it shall be decided

115 When he to judgment comes.

Disable not Thy mind with wine nor drink excessively. Eat not blood, and abstain from things Offered to idols.

Gird not on the sword For slaughter, but defense; and would thou might 120 It neither lawlessly nor justly use:

For if thou kill an enemy thy hand

Thou dost defile. Keep from thy neighbor’s field, Nor trespass on it; just is every landmark,

And trespass painful.

Useful is possession 125 Of lawful wealth, but of unrighteous gains ‘Tis worthless. Harm not any growing fruit Of the field.

And let strangers be esteemed In equal honor with the citizens;

For much-enduring hospitality 130 Shall all experience as each other’s guests;

But let there not be anyone a stranger

Among you, since, ye mortals, all of you

Are of one ‘blood, and no land has for men

Any sure place.

Wish not nor pray for wealth;

135 But pray to live from few things and possessNothing at all unjust. The love of gain

Is mother of all evil.

Do not long For gold or silver; in them there will be A double-edged and soul-destroying iron.

140 A snare to men continually are gold

And silver. Gold, of evils source, of life

Destructive, troubling all things, would that thou Wert, not to mortals such a longed-for bane!

For wars, because of thee, and pillaging

145 And murders come, and children hate their sires, And brothers and sisters those of their own blood.

Plot no deceit, and do not arm thy heart

Against a friend. Keep not concealed within

A different thought from what thou speakest forth;

150 Nor, like rock-clinging polyp, change with place.

But with all be frank, and things from the soul

Speak thou forth. Whosoever willfully

Commits a wrong, an evil man is he;

But he that does it under force, the end

155 I tell not; but let each man’s will be right.

Pride not thyself in wisdom, power, or wealth;

God only is the wise and mighty one

And full of riches.

Do not vex thy heart With evils that are past; for what is done 160 Can never be undone. Let not thy hand Be hasty, but ferocious passion curb;

For many times has one in striking done

Murder without design. Let suffering

Be common, neither great nor overmuch.

165 Excessive good has not brought forth to menThat which is helpful. And much luxury

Leads to immoderate lusts.

Much wealth is prowl, And makes one grow to wanton violence.

Passionate feeling, creeping in, effects

170 Destructive madness. Anger is a lust,

And when it is excessive it is wrath.

The zeal of good men is a noble thing,

But of the base is base. Of wicked men

The boldness is destructive, but renown

175 Follows that of the good.

To be revered Is virtuous love, but that of Cypris works Increase of shame. A silly man is called Very agreeable among his fellows.

With moderation eat, drink, and converse;

180 Of all things moderation is the best;

But trespass of its limit brings to grief.

Be not thou envious, faithless, or abusive,

Or evil-minded, or a false deceiver.

Be prudent and abstain from shameless deeds.

185 Imitate not what’s evil, but leave thou

Vengeance to justice; for persuasion is

A useful thing, but strife engenders strife.

Trust not too quickly ere thou see the end.]

This is the contest, these are the rewards;

190 These are the prizes; this the gate of life

And entrance into immortality, Which God in heaven unto most righteous men

Appointed a reward for victory;

And through this gate shall gloriously pass

195 Those who shall then receive the victor’s crown.”

[A Little Prophecy below describes the Last Times just before Judgment Day]:

” But when this sign shall everywhere appear–

Children with gray hair on their temples born–

And human sufferings, famines, plagues, and wars, And change of times, and many a tearful wail,

200 Ah! of how many parents in the lands

Will children mourn and piteously weep,

And with shrouds bury flesh and limbs in earth,

Mother of peoples, with the blood and dust

Themselves defiling.

O ye wretched men 205 Of the last generation, evil doers, Terrible, childish, not perceiving this, That when the tribes of women do not bear

The harvest time of mortal men is come.

Near is the ruin when impostors come

210 Instead of prophets speaking on the earth.

And Beliar shall come and many signs

Perform for men. And then of holy men,

Elect and faithful, there shall be confusion,

And pillaging of them and of the Hebrews.”

3) Works of the Wicked

What are the Works of the Wicked which we are to avoid?

To quote from the same Book II’s Translation (same source):

“300 In glory with pure angels, and shall sit

At the right hand on the great judgment-seat

To judge the life of pious and the way

Of impious men. And Moses, the great friend

Of the Most High, shall come enrobed in flesh

305 Also great Abraham himself shall come,

Isaac and Jacob, Joshua, Daniel,

Elijah, Habakkuk and Jonah, and

Those whom the Hebrews slew. But he’ll destroy

The Hebrews after Jeremiah, all

310 Who are to be judged at the judgment-seat,

That worthy recompense they may receive

And pay for all each did in mortal life.

And then shall all pass through the burning stream

Of flame unquenchable; but all the just

315 Shall be saved;

and the godless furthermore

Shall to all ages perish, all who did

Evils aforetime, and committed murders,

And all who are accomplices therein,

Liars and thieves, and ruiners of home,

320 Crafty and terrible, and parasites,

And marriage-breakers pouring forth vile words,

Dread, wanton, lawless, and idolaters;

And all who left the great immortal God,

Became blasphemers did the pious harm,

325 Destroying faith and killing righteous men

And all that with a shamelessness deceitful

And double-faced rush in as presbyters

And reverend ministers, who knowingly

Give unjust judgments, yielding to false words

330 More hurtful than the leopards and the wolves

And more vile; and ill that are grossly proud

And usurers, who gains on gains amass

And damage orphans and widows in each thing;

And all that give to widows and to orphans

335 The fruit of unjust deeds, and all that cast

Reproach in giving from their own hard toils;

And all that left their parents in old age,

Not paying them at all, nor offering

To parents filial duty,

and all who 340 Were disobedient and against their sires

Spoke a harsh word; and all that pledges took

And then denied them; and the servants all

Who were against their masters, and again

Those who licentiously defiled the flesh;

345 And all who loosed the girdle of the maid

For secret intercourse, and all who caused

Abortions, and all who their offspring cast

Unlawfully away; and sorcerers

And sorceresses with them, and these wrath

350 Of the heavenly and immortal God shall drive

Against a pillar where shall all around

In a circle flow a restless stream of fire;

And deathless angels of the immortal God,

Who ever is, shall bind with lasting bonds

355 In chains of flaming fire and from above

Punish them all by scourge most terribly;

And in Gehenna, in the gloom of night,

Shall they be cast ‘neath many horrid beasts

Of Tartarus, where darkness is immense.

360 But when there shall be many punishments

Enforced on all who had an evil heart,

Yet afterward shall there a fiery wheel

From a great river circle them around,

Because they had a care for wicked deeds.

365 And then one here, another there, shall sires,

Young children, mothers, nursing babes, in tears

Wail their most piteous fate. No fill of tears

Shall be for them, nor piteous voice be heard

Of them that moan, one here, another there,

370 But long worn under dark, dank Tartarus

Aloud shall they cry; and they shall repay

In cursed places thrice as much as all

The evil work they did, burned with much fire;

And all of them, consumed by raging thirst

375 And hunger, shall in anguish gnash their teeth

And call death beautiful, and death shall flee

Away from them. For neither death nor night

Shall ever give them rest. And many things in vain

Will they ask of the God that rules on high,

380 And then will he his face turn openly

Away from them.

For he to erring men

Gave, in seven ages for repentance, signs

By the hands of a virgin undefiled….”

4) Will the Wicked be in Hell Forever?

No. Because the Righteous (His pious, Sheepfold1) will pray for God in Christ to Save even the wicked and place them in the ‘lower’ Blessed Regions of Hades called the Elysian Fields, to quote in the ‘same order’ as it occurs in this Book II Prophecy from the same translation (as described in earlier posts too regarding the content, authority and reliability of Book II itself):

“… And to the pious will the almighty God

405 Imperishable grant another thing,

When they shall ask the imperishable God:

That he will suffer men from raging fire

And endless gnawing anguish to be saved;

And this will he do. For hereafter he

410 Will pluck them from the restless flame, elsewhere

Remove them, and for his own people’s sake

Send them to other and eternal life

With the immortals, in Elysian field,…”

Blessed be Lord Jesus Christ, the Saviour of All Men especially those who believe:

“This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of ALL MEN, SPECIALLY of THOSE that BELIEVE. THESE THINGS COMMAND and TEACH.” – apostle Paul (1 Timothy 4:9 – 11, KJV)

In last Verse above the Context for

‘THESE THINGS COMMAND and TEACH’ (Verse 11) = How God will Save All men especially believers? (Verse 10)

Can you see it?

I present the Sibyline Prophecy here and the choice to believe or not is yours just like I don’t believe other theories. So, free speech please and decide for yourselves as each will give account to God.

Peace to you

Conclusion

God’s Unconditional Love (“Agape”) – PERFECT.

Evil – our Sins – to the Dragons

Vexed by our Past Sins or the Past Sins of those closest to us?

Do NOT dwell on it (Verse in image).

Also,

“Do not vex thy heart With evils that are past; for what is done Can never be undone” – Sibyline Oracles (Book II)

Why?

All former things (especially sin & evil – inclusive) will eventually ‘pass away and be FORGOTTEN, and NOT remembered eternally eventually’ (Verse below).

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” (Revelation 21:4, KJV)

So, why think about evil things which will be forgotten?

“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.” – God Speaks (in Isaiah 65:17, KJV)

Conclusion

Evil is NOT eternal because He Will fill “all things” (or all creation with Him eventually):

“Which is His Body, the fulness of Him that filleth all in all.” (Ephesians 1:23, KJV)

That’s a Reason why He Descended too (toward Hell) :

“He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that He might fill all things.” (Ephesians 4:10, KJV)

“And when all things shall be subdued unto Him, then shall the Son also Himself be subject unto Him that put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.” (1 Corinthians 15:28, KJV)

P/S: Mysteries

Even the “dragons” will “honour God eventually” as it is quoted in this Context of ‘All former things being made new’ (“Context” in the Mysterious Verses below – when ‘properly translated without bias’ as it is Written):

“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

The beast of the field shall honour Me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My people, My chosen.” – God Speaks (in Isaiah 43:18 – 20, KJV)

Money Matters – The Trap vs The Rule of Contentment

“Wish not nor pray for wealth;” – Sibyline Oracles (Book II)

If it happens, so be it; if it does not happen, so be it (the Godly Secret of Contentment,a Biblical Doctrine – there is NO faith for wealth Spoken of in New Testament Scripture – Verse below & in Image).

“I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.” – apostle Paul (Philippians 4:12, NASB)

First Christianity – How did St. Irenaeous understand or use Romans 11:32 for what Topic or Context?

How did Irenaeous Understand apostle Paul’s Last Word on Judgment – which is ‘MERCY to ALL eventually (in Romans 11:32)?’

Irenaeous does NOT speak of ‘any availability’ NOR does he refer to the ‘all’ in Romans 11:32 to refer to ‘believers only or the sheep only’ but also INCLUSIVE of the DISOBEDIENT too – Shocked?

So was I when I read the following (which PROVES the CONTEXT of UNIVERSAL SALVATION for ALL MEN true when Romans 11:32 is quoted), as Irenaeous

himself APPROVES it as follows:

“… Just as the physician is proved by his patients, so is God also revealed through MEN. And therefore Paul declares, “For God hath concluded ALL in UNBELIEF, that He [God] may have MERCY upon ALL; ” not saying this in reference to spiritual Aeons, but to MAN, who had been DISOBEDIENT to God, and being CAST OFF from IMMORTALITY, then OBTAINED MERCY, receiving through the Son of God that adoption which is [ACCOMPLISHED] byHimself… ” (St. Irenaeous of Lyons, ‘Against Heresies’, Book III, Chapter XX, second part of Point 3)

Please note carefully that Irenaeous speaks of MEN (who are sick generally being SINNERS, as the Context of the Great Physician is set forth first).

Next, Irenaeous Speaks of the ‘Mercy to All’ —> not as an offer, nor as an availability or any part on the ‘will of men’ (agreeing to Romans 9:15 – 16) though popular theology errs otherwise greatly in this

– Can you see it? —-> but as an ACCOMPLISHED Fact evidenced by

the phrase ‘OBTAINED MERCY’ toward those ‘CAST OFF from IMMORTALITY’ due to His Work Alone.

In other words, Irenaeous does NOT discuss any ‘availability or the will of man’ when quoting Romans 11:32 proving that these are irrelevant to the context of MERCY which depends on GOD’s WILL ALONE (Romans 9:15 – 16).

Next, Irenaeous clearly sets forth the SAME Prophetic Tone in Inspired Scripture by apostle Paul in that ALL in UNBELIEF or those who have been DISOBEDIENT to God will first be CAST OFF from IMMORTALITY (enduring the AGE-DURING Judgment in Gehenna Fire, Matthew 25:46) where their MORTAL parts of the BODY and SOUL will be DESTROYED (Matthew 10:28) but these will eventually been shown MERCY, not as an offer or availability within an Aeon but as a REALITY in that they will OBTAIN that MERCY, Romans 11:32 (which Triumphs and ENDS that afterlife Judgment Sentence too, James 2:13) as even the Infamous Sibyline Prophecies (in link below) clearly records in agreement to all this as well:

https://www.anonymouschristian.org/blog/sibyline-oracles-mystery-match-with-bible-verses-perfectly-last-prophecies/

The Jewish-Christian Sibyline Oracle Prophecies are Important because exegesis regarding Prophecy of Scripture is NOT of any private interpretation and thus must agree with the Earliest Known established Reliable Prophecy such as This (in obedience to 2 Peter 1:20).

Please note that being bound in disobedience is a ‘sentencing for sin’ and not the ’cause of sin’.

The cause of sin is our own will but God bounds us in our disobedience after we sin (sentencing) as the Greek word here itself means in depth. Example of a translation reflecting this depth:

“For God has locked up all in the prison of unbelief, that upon all alike He may have mercy.” (Weymouth New Testament, Romans 11:32)

Or for the other Manuscript Variant:

“For God has imprisoned everyone in disobedience so he could have mercy on everyone.” (New Living Translation, Romans 11:32)

However, God promises to free this binding or sentencing eventually by His Mercy post Judgment only for some as Romans 9 – 11 especially Romans 11:30 – 31 too mentions when read in ‘full’.

Peace to you

Theology – Bible Teachers of Universal Salvation?

Theologically my teachers whom the Blessed Lord used are from the Bible Study especially via St. Justin Martyr, St. Irenaeous of Lyons and St. Clement of Alexandria’s Writings.

Every Christian is following another man of God’s theology whether they know it or not as God Intended it that way (Proof Verses: 1 Corinthians 11:1 – 2, Philippians 3:17).

“Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.” – apostle Paul (Philippians 3:17, KJV)

Please be careful of man-made doctrines not found among such endorsed leaders of First Christianity (In Principle of Matthew 15:9, Matthew 7:8, Matthew 23:3, Colossians 2:8).

For example, St. Irenaeous of Lyons was a hearer of Polycarp who directly heard from Apostle John who wrote Revelation and St. Irenaeous endorses St. Justin Martyr’s writings in his own books (pretty good authority of doctrine lineage for me) .

This is an important question whenever we follow teachings against what is passed down through real authoritative Christian leaders such as the ones quoted above:

“Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?” (Matthew 15:8, NIV)

Remember, you will be praised for keeping with what apostle Paul taught:

“Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.” – apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 11:1- 2, KJV)

If a leader does not obey or preach ‘obvious verses’ in 1 Corinthians, say chapters 11 to 14 correctly, I tend to be more cautious about them as the “Bible Test” for being “anointed” (Spirit Led, “prophet or spiritual”) in 1 Corinthians 14:37 Teaches me to do so.

“If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.” – apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 14:37 – 38, KJV)

P/S: Is St. Irenaeous of Lyons a universal salvation believer?

Yes sir , and I explained it in detail in the book lost orthodoxy, free pdf download discussing his so called annihilation or eternal hell quotes together with his universal salvation ones too especially how he understood the Greek word Aeon/Aion/Eon or “Age” to mean successive ages which go into immortality in detail by his own words making sense of Ephesians 2:7 literally (for example).

Please note that Irenaeous’ Original was in Koine Greek but the Latin Translation can be inferred to mean the Original Koine Greek Reconstruction by well known Translational habits as I think the English Translations are done based on the Latin preserved of the original due to the Greek ones incomplete in preservation?

Parent – Children – Obedient Duty or Hell Fire?

The Bible does not teach ‘obey our parents’ but ‘obey your parents in the Lord’:

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.” – apostle Paul (Ephesians 6:1, KJV)

What’s the Difference and Why?

A parent is NOT a god. They being humans are imperfect too and so their commands & teachings can be wrong. The only way to decide that is to check what they teach (the Noble Brerean Attitude in Principle – Acts 17:11) against ‘Bible Verses’.

So, if what they teach is Biblical, obey them (Ephesians 6:1 applies) & if what they teach is NOT Biblical (then you choose God and stand up against their false ways – Matthew 10:35, Verse below):

“For I have come to turn “‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law-” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 10:35, KJV)

God does NOT have Favoritism and is Fair to all (Romans 2:11).

(i) Children’s Duty

“Imperishable [God] honor always first, And next thy parents. Render all things due, And into unjust judgment come thou not.” – Sibyline Oracles (Book II)

“Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)” – apostle Paul (Ephesians 6:2, KJV)

How?

Please note the phrase “repaying the parents” in Verse below (it applies generally in principle & not toward the widow-case described only):

“But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so REPAYING THEIR PARENTS and grandparents, for this is PLEASING to GOD.” – apostle Paul (1 Timothy 5:4, NIV)

Example: If there is more than one children with different abilities given, one child can provide the financial part while the other can do the taking care part (even rotate the duty among them).

WARNING: Not Keeping to their Duty can Merit Children the Hell Punishment of the Lake of Fire

“And all that left their parents in old age,

Not paying them at all, nor offering

To parents filial duty, and all who

Were disobedient and against their sires

Spoke a harsh word;” – Sibyline Oracles (Book II)

*Sire = Male Guardian or Male Parent in Authority

(ii) Parent’s Duty

WARNING: Not keeping to their Parental Duty can Merit Parents too in the Same Hell Punishment of the Lake of Fire

“and all who caused Abortions, and all who their offspring cast Unlawfully away;” – Sibyline Oracles (Book II)

Please note the phrase “all who their offspring cast Unlawfully away” = NOT performing the duty of a parent to a child by God’s Law especially in abandoning them (in any way).

Conclusion

As the Verse in image says (Romans 12:3), some often ‘think too highly of themselves’ and ‘blame God for their own sins & shortcomings’ (the most common symptom of lack of proper understanding of His Word & having a high dosage of human pride for their own sins & errors – an irony indeed).

So how good are we as children or as parents ‘according to God’s Word & Law’?

No point in blaming God when we never knew His Word nor obeyed it in full (2 Thessalonians 1:8).

It is often pointed out that obeying God’s Command is like a guard rail & benefits not only us but others around us. So a selfless person would seek to obey as many commands of God (even seemingly unimportant ones, e.g. 1 Corinthians 14:37) knowing that by doing so, he may be even keeping his city or country safe (Genesis 18:23 – 33) from the ‘evil one to have a foothold (Ephesians 4:12) to do destruction by law of liberty’ (Ephesians 6:12).

God does NOT destroy the ‘righteous together with the wicked’ (Principle Highlighted in Verse below). So, every instance of a righteous being destroyed together with the wicked is due to the Devil (Principle in Job 1:16) including causing diseases upon men by his own choice/will (e.g. Job 2:7 – Please don’t blame God).

“And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?” (Genesis 18:23, KJV)

“Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head.” (Job 2:7, NASB)

” [Satan said to God] But put forth Your hand now and touch all that he has; he [Job] will surely curse You to Your face.” Then the LORD said to Satan, “Behold, all that he [Job] has is in your [Satan’s] power, only do not put forth your hand on him.” So Satan departed from the presence of the LORD. While he [Job] was still speaking, another also came and said, “The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.” (Job 1:11 – 12, 16, NASB)

Please note carefully that though it is called the ‘fire of God’ (Verse 16), it is actually by the ‘will of Satan’ (Phrase: “Behold, all that he [Job] has is in your [Satan’s] power”, Verse 12) and NOT the ‘Will of God’ (Phrase: “[Satan said to God] But put forth Your hand now and touch all that he [Job] has”, which God did NOT do though Satan tried to Incite God to do it, Verse 11).

Peace to you

P/S: Last Days – Parent & Children Signs

The State of the Final Race of Men before Judgment Day will Break God’s Law & Fail Him Miserably on Earth too due to their OWN EVIL ways:

“But when this sign shall everywhere appear–

Children with gray hair on their temples born–

And human sufferings, famines, plagues, and wars,

And change of times, and many a tearful wail,

Ah! of how many parents in the lands

Will children mourn and piteously weep,

And with shrouds bury flesh and limbs in earth,

Mother of peoples, with the blood and dust

Themselves defiling. O ye wretched men

Of the last generation, evil doers,” – Sibyline Oracles (Book II)

“For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,” – apostle Paul (2 Timothy 3:2, KJV)

“… and children hate their sires, And brothers and sisters those of their own blood…” – Sibyline Oracles (Book II)

Is the WARNING of God Serious?

Yes, as the infamous Christian-Jewish Sibyline Prophecy Continues (please note the words ‘children’, ‘sires’, ‘mothers’ carefully) below highlighting ‘these roles’ too, right?:

“And then one here, another there, shall sires,

Young children, mothers, nursing babes, in tears

Wail their most piteous fate. No fill of tears

Shall be for them, nor piteous voice be heard

Of them that moan, one here, another there,

But long worn under dark, dank Tartarus

Aloud shall they cry; and they shall repay

In cursed places thrice as much as all

The evil work they did, burned with much fire;

And all of them, consumed by raging thirst

And hunger, shall in anguish gnash their teeth

And call death beautiful, and death shall flee

Away from them. For neither death nor night

Shall ever give them rest. ” – Sibyline Oracles (Book II)

Does the phrase ‘nursing babies’ in the Prophecy above refer to ‘infants burning in Hell as erroneously taught by his own interpretation by the infamous eternal hell preacher Jonathan Edwards’?

No, of course not. The nursing babies are shown to those who have wronged them as the true believers from First Christianity (especially St. Clement of Alexandria) explains further below based on the accepted apocrypha ‘Apocalypse of Peter’:

FRAGMENTS OF THE APOCALYPSE OF PETER.

  1. CLEMENS ALEXANDRINUS, Eclog. 48. For instance, Peter in the Apocalypse says that the children who are born out of due time shall be of the better part: and that these are delivered over to a care-taking angel that they may attain a share of knowledge and gain the better abode [after suffering what they would have suffered if they had been in the body: but the others shall merely obtain salvation as injured beings to whom mercy is shown, and remain without punishment, receiving this as a reward].*

  1. CLEM. ALEX. Eclog. 49. But the milk of the women running down from their breasts and congealing shall engender small flesh eating beasts: and these run up upon them and devour them.

  1. MACARIUS MAGNES, Apocritica iv., 6 cf. 16. The earth, it (sc. the Apoc. of Peter) says, “shall present all men before God at the day of judgment, being itself also to be judged, with the heaven also which encompasses it.”

  1. CLEM. ALEX. Eclog. 41. The scripture says that infants that have been exposed are delivered to a care-taking angel, by whom they are educated and so grow up, and they will be, it says, as the faithful of a hundred years old are here.

  1. METHODIUS, Conviv. ii., 6. Whence also we have received in divinely-inspired scriptures that untimely births are delivered to care-taking angels, even if they are the offspring of adultery.

Edifying Comments:

Please note carefully that the ‘flesh eating beasts’ (point 2 by Clement) are some ‘creature made for equivalent punishment purpose & not babies’.

Why?

Probably due to the mothers giving birth but did NOT feed their babies or let their ‘babies starve to death’ breaking God’s Law. Remember, don’t have Children if you are in a Starving Land or in Poverty or Cannot Provide. It is only acceptable if you had the ability to provide & did so but lost it due to evil done to you to avoid the Perfect Judgment of God as He allows these mothers to ‘suffer the starvation pain they caused first toward such infants of theirs as it is demanded by their infants (a secret which will be revealed on Judgment Day further).

Knowing or Not Knowing only affects the ‘Level of Punishment’ (Luke 12:48) as a ‘wrong is still wrong whether we know it or not’:

“In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:” – apostle Paul (2 Thessalonians 1:8, KJV)

So it is clear that ALL CHILDREN (including babies) as God deems the age & innocence accordingly are spared of Judgment and enter His Kingdom as the Verse below Confirms it:

“But Jesus said, “Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:12, NASB)

All these Bible Verses and Prophecies in First Christianity should be taught in Christian Marriage Counselling so that Couples are aware of ‘how serious’ it is ‘to start a family’.

Maranatha, Even so Come Lord Jesus Christ, Most High God in Flesh.
