Reading both sides – What do the Scholars say regarding God Saving all men?

Purpose —> ‘no’ blind faith; faith like the Berean to check with Scripture any doctrine taught (Acts 17:11) & God loves such an attitude!

(i) Question

What do the best Scholars from the ECT (Eternal Hell) believers’ camp say is the ‘meaning’ of 1 Timothy 2:4 & 1 Timothy 4:10 after centuries of research with their most anointed Christian leaders?

Please read from one of the ‘best of the best’ Christian Apologetics Website & Research foundation on the planet —> CARM itself regarding this matter (in the two links shown below):

a) Regarding 1 Timothy 2:4

b) Regarding 1 Timothy 4:10

(ii) Reply

If you may, please consider our unscholastic, untrained write-up too regarding this same two verses (discussed more at the end of the write up below) together with ‘how we look at God’s Will being fulfilled or not differently’ as follows:

The Free Will versus God’s Will Dilemma – Will God really Save the World?

(iii) What is the Difference?

Plenty. In a nutshell, CARM (and 'all eternal Hell' theologians) believe that God's Will may or may not happen even if God is doing it (regarding 1 Timothy 2:4, 1 Timothy 4:10).

On the contrary, we believe as follows regarding God's Will according to the 'same' verses quoted either way:

*God's Will may be done or may not be done only in the cases where He allowed human beings to play a role at it (e.g. Pharaoh, we falling in sin or any other Scriptural example of CARM testifies too).

**However, CARM fails to recognise that God's Will done by Lord Jesus Christ will surely come to pass.

Their limitation or inability to see that is due to not being able to understand the "Mystery of His Will" (Ephesians 1:8 - 10) in Scripture (Acts 3:21, Revelation 21:5, Ecclesiastes 3:11) where Christ saves in the afterlife too (1 Peter 4:5 - 6, yes He Reconciles from the "invisible" realm too containing 'hell/Hades/Sheol/Gehenna/Lake of Fire' too eventually as seen with Colossians 1:16 & Colossians 1:20 till God becomes "all in all" in the "End", 1 Corinthians 15:25 - 28) though 'much details regarding this remain hidden'.

"And He answering said to them that -- 'To you it hath been given to know the secrets of the reign of the heavens, and to these it hath not been given," - Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 13:11, YLT)

"Let a man so reckon us as officers of Christ, and stewards of the secrets of God," - apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 4:1)

Apart from that, CARM's argument using 1 Timothy 2:4 claiming it to be 'God's Will or Desire' (Noun) is inaccurate to the actual Greek Word used which means "God Will have" (Verb) ---> very few translations reflect this "Verb" meaning & one such good translation for both these verses is the King James Version (KJV), Well done KJV! ---> This is important since Salvation is God's Work Alone without any human role (a well known fact of being Saved by His Grace) ---> Him Acting to fulfill His Will ---> Will surely come to pass "as it is written":

"Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have NOT been DONE, Saying, 'My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish ALL My good pleasure';" (Isaiah 46:10)

In case some may not believe in apostle Paul but only Lord Jesus Christ (such strange Christians may exist too as I have encountered such claims toward that direction) ---> they will say that they don't believe in those verses, here's one in that direction from the Mouth of our Most Blessed Saviour Himself:

"And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself." - Lord Jesus Christ (John 12:32)

(iv) Reason

One may see 'how I lost faith in the honesty of traditional translators and their hermeneutics of Scripture' plainly 'speaking against' what is "written".

Thereby, I chose to "believe what is written as it is".

To understand truth, we may need to know the two things below (helpful considerations):

--> 'Why is one interpretation right'
--> 'Why is the opposing interpretation wrong'

Conclusion

I won't decide that for you but I pray that 'those who are called to believe' may rejoice in Christ Jesus, the Blessed Saviour of the World!

For those who don't believe, we still believe & know that God Will Save you too & bring you to the knowledge of His truth be it in this life or the next as He Wills ("as it is written" in both 1 Timothy 2:4 & 1 Timothy 4:10).

Peace to y'all and as He declared ('to use our own decision to think in verse below'):

"Why don't you judge for yourselves what is right?" - Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 12:57)
