Commands – Unimportant? Antichrist?

“and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” – apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 3:20, BLB)

Looking for healing?

“For the heart of this people has grown dull, and they barely hear with the ears, and they have closed their eyes, lest ever they should see with the eyes, and they should hear with the ears, and they should understand with the heart, and should turn, and I will heal them.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 13:15, NASB)

Can you see the importance or role of “understanding His Word” (please note the phrase ‘they should understand with the heart’ in verse above) with regards to ‘obtaining healing’ (the phrase ‘I will heal them’) after ‘they repent’ (phrase: ‘and should turn’). A secret regarding ‘how to be healed’ is revealed indeed in the verse prior.

Now, how about the Antichrist or the ‘Lawless one’? What is his chief trait? A verse:

“Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,” – apostle Paul (2 Thessalonians 2:3, NASB)

His chief trait is ‘Lawlessness’ which basically means that he cannot teach especially the New Testament Law of God correctly. Can you perceive it?

The Antichrist can do ‘signs and wonders’ (please note that it is not written that he can do ‘Biblical teaching endorsing what apostle Paul wrote’):

“The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie,” – apostle Paul (2 Thessalonians 2:9, NIV)

“For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 24:24, NASB)

Modern Christianity can easily be deceived (being part of ‘the elect’) if they place their faith in ‘signs and wonders’ instead of ‘what apostle Paul wrote in the New Testament’. Can you infer this by reading the last set of verses above?

Yes, the Antichrist will make himself as a ‘god’ too:

“who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.” – apostle Paul (2 Thessalonians 2:4, NASB)

What is the end of the Antichrist?

Lord Jesus Christ Will Slay the Antichrist during His Glorious Return at the End of this Age:

“Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;” – apostle Paul (2 Thessalonians 2:9, NASB)

We often hear Christian theologians (even pastors) claiming that some of the commands which the Lord gave to apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 14:37) such as 1 Corinthians 14:34 or 1 Timothy 2:12 or 1 Corinthians 11:14 or 1 Corinthians 14:27,—-> are ‘not relevant today or unimportant’ (which is a man-made excuse to ‘not’ obey) ——> yes even denying the context of 1 Corinthians 14:40 just to ‘keep to their traditions of men’ (no verse says what they claim but only their own opinions mostly from their upbringing or their respective mere human cultural backgrounds) —–> to which even the attitude of the Pharisees were such (Matthew 15:8) due to the context of ‘obeying human rules/teachings/traditions against what is actually Written in God’s Holy Word by acting opposite or contrary to it’ which makes even their ‘worship as vain’ (Matthew 15:9).

Isn’t it simple to see this? Are we really ‘that blind’?

Why are our opinions and works (including ministry) so dear to us till we rather deny the Written Word of God and dare claim that the New Testament commands have an expiry date (before the end of the age itself) or that it’s relative to culture? (a concept which is NEVER found in Scripture as God is the respecter of no persons, Romans 2:11, e.g. His Commands for Gentile believers applies to all Gentile believers as He commissioned apostle Paul to deliver it).

Conclusion

To ‘obey is better than any sacrifice’ (example: prophet Samuel himself may not have been the ‘best social worker in Israel at that time’ but certainly is one of the ‘most obedient toward the Word of God’), Verses:

“And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee [king Saul] from being king.” (1 Samuel 15:22 – 23, KJV)

I pray that the Blessed Lord does not remove us from being kings in His Kingdom (Revelation 5:10) due to ‘our disobedience’ as the example verses in the above speak about how king Saul lost his-earthly-kingship due to disobedience to the ‘Word of God’ as well (an analogy drawn in direct Biblical Principle stated).

Yes, ‘rebellion’ against His Written Commands is not a good thing:

“A rebellious man seeks only evil, So a cruel messenger will be sent against him.” (Proverbs 17:11, NASB)

Can we see it?

P/S: Our Hearts and Intentions Revealed by our Belief & Actions

Indeed, the Word of God (including the Commands & Various Truths Which are Revealed especially in the New Testament) —-> so that ‘our thoughts & hearts may be revealed’ by ‘how we respond to it’ (our selflessness to obey His Written Word vs our selfishness to ‘have it our way because it gives us glory in some way’):

“For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12, NASB)

“and a sword will pierce even your own soul– to the end that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed.” (Luke 2:35, NASB)

Yes, the ‘root of loving one’s self’ is revealed since some Christians are only interested in the verses which speak about ‘them & blessings toward them only’ (please note the phrase ‘lovers of self’ in verse below to realize this):

“But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.” – apostle Paul (2 Timothy 3:1 – 5, NASB)

Such Christians will often say for example, ‘If God is going to Save the World in the End even from Hell’ —-> it’s not a big deal to me as I am going to focus on my ministry.

If you ‘think’ about it carefully, such a person is basically saying that ‘his ministry’ (Christian work be it evangelism or orphanage work or charity work) is ‘more important’ to preach & share to those around him than Christ Saving even from Hell itself (which is ‘not relevant to this life’ according to them).

Thus such churches prefer to have ‘career talks, or run business agendas through what they call as the marketplace approach even indulging into political agendas which benefit them’ —-> for the chief reason that these things are relevant toward ‘their own life’ on earth too (self-based agendas included since it benefits ‘their race, people type, their loved ones’ etc.) —-> to preserve a life on earth instead of losing it (against the principles in Matthew 16:25).

Such a Christianity is alien to New Testament Commands when it is ‘mixed or conformed to the pattern of this world’ (did you notice that their ‘methods’ are all ‘worldly technique based’? which is against Romans 12:2).

Also, apart from mentioning to ‘pay taxes to Caesar (government), Mark 12:17, Romans 13:6 – 7’, Lord Jesus Christ did NOT speak anything else regarding politics.

Please think about this rarely understood fact deeply. Now, here is a roman government which is oppressing Jews & others in many ways but yet in the Gospels, Christ seems to be more interested in theological debates with the religious leaders who are already doing some political stance for the people even by being ‘friends of Caesar’ (John 19:12, implied or if it’s a fake statement, it proves ‘their hypocrisy or pretense in friendships too’) & these same religious leaders have also gained some political mileage for the people (as likewise modern Christianity does similarly in their ‘marketplace agendas’ both in the private & governmental sectors) which is evidenced by the fact that the Jewish religious council at that time had their own prison guards and authority politically to execute such sentences under Roman Supervision as well (example verse: Acts 5:17 – 18). Doesn’t it sound uncannily similar to modern day Christianity’s ‘secret agenda’ likewise which is to ‘gain political mileage’ especially with non-Christian country governments for ‘their survival’?

Apart from that, these religious leaders did great charity works (Matthew 6:2) and proselyting too (Matthew 23:15) in their capacity & yet, the Pharisees are going to Hell right despite all these great works & ministries, right (Matthew 23:33)?. Does it sound familiar?

This is such with some of our churches today who are heavily occupied similarly in making a political stance against certain governments —> which according to them —> doesn’t treat them fairly. At the same time, these same churches are also involved in some charity works too but almost no engagement in ‘Christian doctrine’ or ‘religious debates’ (talk about following Christ Who focused much, yes much more on the exact opposite! Please read the Gospels to realize this simple Truth).

Let me put it this way for a clearer perspective regarding this: Lord Jesus Christ seems to be more keen on religious debates with regards to Correct Doctrine and Interpretation of Scripture as recorded clearly in the Gospels instead of focusing on the ‘practical life aspect’ (as focused by the Pharisees & likewise by the churches today too).

I repeat:

Strangely, in spite of all these oppression around Him —> Lord Jesus Christ seems more focused on Religious Debates and Doctrine with Regards to Theology than charity works or equivalent. Can you see it especially with regards to following Christ?

Why is this so?

Here is the Crux of Understanding regarding this: Lord Jesus Christ is not ignoring the plight and suffering of the people. He knows that human efforts will cause changes which are ‘not’ permanent as people change.

True change is only achieved only when there is a change within (belief) especially in regards to accepting Him as the Messiah & doing things ‘openly in the light’ with ‘true intentions’ & ‘no’ hostile secret Christian agendas against others (John 3:21). Following that, a person becomes a true friend and loves all others and hopes for the Reconciliation of all things beyond this life as well (Colossians 1:20, Acts 3:21).

Now, such genuineness in love without hypocrisy (Romans 12:9), may cause even our enemies to be at peace with us (Proverbs 16:7) especially since these same enemies know that we are ‘not’ hoping some ‘eternal Hell on them secretly in a hypocritical manner’ —-> but they know instead that we (Christians) truly strive to ‘love our enemies’ (as our Blessed Lord Loves them First, Matthew 5:44, which includes ‘the evil & unrighteous too’, Matthew 5:45) —-> and believe in Christ Saving them all too beyond this life (1 Timothy 2:4, 1 Timothy 4:10) post afterlife Judgment as well (1 Peter 4:5 – 6, James 2:13, Romans 11:32, 1 Timothy 2:6).

Such Truth can only be evidenced when we (believers) practice His Word (Doctrine as well) in Truth before God —–> and hence Lord Jesus Christ Focused on these Religious Debates to Refute all false teachings to achieve this. Likewise apostle Paul did too and we ought to do likewise (2 Corinthians 10:5).

“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” – apostle Paul (2 Corinthians 10:5, KJV)

Yes, when this is achieved and Christians ‘obey’ the Word of God correctly as it is written (a true selfless act), perhaps God may turn and heal our Land (2 Chronicles 7:14 which is a promise clearly conditioned to “obedience to His Commands”, as the context of consecutive verses again clearly prove in 2 Chronicles 7:17 – 18).

Thus we do not need any strange political or worldly agendas to obtain this. Victories won in worldly ways are temporal and are never permanent & are not true (based on hypocrisy of many sort just like politics). Yes, ‘peace and safety’ won via unrighteous ways and not via God’s Commands & Obedience will not last long and will eventually bring destruction too (as the Antichrist brings such ‘fake peace & safety’ via worldly ways as well):

“While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape.” – apostle Paul (1 Thessalonians 5:3, NASB)

Their common excuse against our lackadaisical Biblical approach to ‘life on earth’ (Matthew 6:25 – 34, Matthew 11:28) —-> does not hold and their ‘serious approach to earthly life’ especially with regards to ‘making money via hard work, Proverbs 23:4’ —-> ‘chokes them’ since it is them who are ‘choked by the deceitfulness of wealth & worries or cares of this life on earth’ as the verses beautifully correlate revealing this Truth:

“but the worries of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Mark 4:19, NASB)

The Principle of Work is to ‘work seriously when the time is for work without being lazy’, that’s all (Proverbs 6:6). There is ‘no’ extra effort or focus on work or this life on earth (1 Timothy 6:9 – 10) but rather, the rest of the time is to be for the Lord especially even in regards to ‘meditating upon His Word day & night’ to be ‘Blessed’ (spiritually within, Psalm 1:2).

“Then He [Lord Jesus Christ] said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.” (Luke 12:15, NASB)

“Do not weary yourself to gain wealth, Cease from your consideration of it.” (Proverbs 23:4, NASB)

How about our fruits?

The ‘fruit’ is not measured by the ‘abundance of Christian Ministry/Work done’ but the ‘quality of the Christian Work/Ministry’ according to the Will of God which is through especially “obeying” the revealed Written New Testament Verses First —> as the verse below mentions the ‘testing of our works in fire’ on that Great Day:

“According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it.

For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,

each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work.

If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward.

If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.” – aposte Paul (1 Corinthians 3:10 – 15, NASB)

How to be in the most accurate route of faith (the Narrow Path, Matthew 7:14) as a Gentile believer (Romans 11:13, Acts 13:46, Acts 22:21) with regards to the right ‘fruit’ as well (Matthew 7:20) and not stray from it due to ‘Lawlessness’ (Matthew 7:23) despite ‘ministry done in His Name’ (Matthew 7:22) as consecutive verses in Matthew 7 clearly imply too, in perfect first context?

To follow apostle Paul as God ordained it such for our pattern (Philippians 3:17).

Please note that the ‘least thing apostle Paul preached is ‘Hell (Hades)’ —> please try to find ‘Hell’ in apostle Paul’s writings which make up close to 50% of the New Testament content as some scholars often say, interesting, isn’t it? —> So, how many times did apostle Paul who followed Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1) preach Hell in his letters? —> In fact, apostle Paul preached the so called unimportant commands such as ‘women must cover their heads when praying & prophesying’ (1 Cornthians 11:5 – 6) or that ‘men should not have long hair’ (1 Corinthians 11:14) with regards to ‘personal conduct & order in the church’ (1 Corinthians 14:40) more, right? —> True, apostle Paul preached these commands of the Blessed Lord in his letters regarding the order of the church & for our personal orderly behaviour (1 Corinthians 14:37) even more —-> Let us ‘realize’ this truth & follow him in that too to follow Christ correctly (1 Corinthians 11:1)

Last but not least, we are “commanded” to teach the Salvation of all men (its aspects too) as instructed in 1 Timothy 4:11 in the first context of 1 Timothy 4:10 which can be understood with the verse below (translated correctly especially with regards to the ‘verb-will have’, deep stuff) which apostle Paul wrote earlier in this ‘same letter’ (perfect context again):

“Who [God our Saviour] will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth” – apostle Paul (1 Timothy 2:4, KJV)

So, how many churches preach the ‘Salvation of All men eventually’ as Commanded in Scripture too?

Yes, if apostle Paul preached it, we are to preach it likewise:

“Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.” – apostle Paul (2 Timothy 1:13, KJV)

Indeed, zeal for God which is not according to the right Knowledge of God (i.e. based on Written Scripture only) is “dangerous” as verses below warn:

“For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge.” – apostle Paul (Romans 10:2, NASB)

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.” – God (Hosea 4:6, NASB)

Whether ‘we know or do not know’ doesn’t matter in the end during afterlife Judgment:

“And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,” (Hebrews 9:27, NASB)

Why?

a) We are ‘judged for being wrong’ —> and thus knowing or not knowing it —> does not make a wrong right —> but only affects the ‘severity of punishment only’ as verses describe this fact below (very logically in accordance to a proper understanding of ‘Justice’):

“In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:” – apostle Paul (2 Thessalonians 1:8, KJV)

“But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,

but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation.

There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek,

“For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law;” – apostle Paul (Romans 2:5, 8, 9, 12 NASB)

“the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, and will cut him in pieces, and assign him a place with the unbelievers.

“And that slave who knew his master’s will and did not get ready or act in accord with his will, will receive many lashes,

but the one who did not know it, and committed deeds worthy of a flogging, will receive but few. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 12:46 – 48, NASB)

b) We will be commended for being right —> even when we unknowingly do a right even for a case when we don’t have the Law of God (e.g. apostle Paul’s letters as he calls it ‘my Gospel’, immediate context of Romans 2:16) as verses describe this fact too:

“For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves,

in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them,

on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus.” – apostle Paul (Romans 2:14 – 16, NASB)

The last point (b) above clearly points that those who don’t have the Law of God or “my Gospel” (Romans 2:16) as apostle Paul is referring to the ‘Gospel for the Gentiles (uncircumcised ones)’ which he divinely was mandated to deliver to the Gentiles, Galatians 2:7 – 9, Acts 9:10 – 18) —-> thus, we have “no” excuse for “not” obeying —-> and neither will we believers, especially having apostle Paul’s letters in our Bibles are going to excused for not obeying it (a common lame excuse refuted easily with verses, again).

“I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.

But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!

As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!

For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.

For I would have you know, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.

For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.” – apostle Paul (Galatians 1:6 – 12, NASB)

Can we understand it?

“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.” – apostle Paul (Romans 1:20, NASB)

“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:15, NASB)

“You are My friends if you do what I command you.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 15:14, NASB)

“Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” – Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 6:46, NASB)

Even so come, Lord Jesus Christ.

Yes, ‘keeping His Commands’ is part of ‘ keep oneself unstained by the world’ which is part of Practicing “Pure Religion” according to the verse below:

“Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.” – apostle James (James 1:27, NASB)

In other words, Pure Religion has three Commands namely:

(i) to visit orphans in their distress,

(ii) to visit widows in their distress,

(iii) to keep oneself unstained by the world

Indeed, if we ‘don’t keep His Commands’, the verses below say that we are “liars” (and where do liars go?), please consider this Scriptural Fact deeply:

“By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.” – apostle John (1 John 2:3 – 6, NASB)

‘Keeping His Commands’ is the ‘Love of God’:

“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.” – apostle John (1 John 5:3, NASB)

Peace to you

“As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.” – apostle John (1 John 2:27, NASB)

“If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them.” – Lord Jesus Christ (John 13:17, NASB)

“But He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe [obey] it.” – Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 11:28, NASB)
