Resurrection of the Dead - Is there Hope for the Wicked too?

Yes, Verses:

“If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.” (1 Corinthians 15:19, NASB)

“having a Hope in God, which these men cherish themselves, that there shall certainly be a Resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked. In view of this, I also do my best to maintain always a blameless conscience both before God and before men.” – apostle Paul (Acts 24:15 – 16, NASB)

Explanation of Details:

The HOPE for the Resurrection of the Dead (to be beneficial toward all, for if not it won’t be a HOPE for both the Righteous and the Wicked or the ungodly too (Acts 24:15), i.e. ALL MEN who die in ADAM) is what is referred to in 1 Corinthians 15:19 as the next ‘consecutive verses’ (context toward the topic in concern proves irrefutably as follows – can we see it as it is Written?):

“But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming,” (1 Corinthians 15:20 – 23, NASB)

This is the SAME HOPE apostle Paul is mentioning in Acts 24:15 – 16 (his own words explaining his own words only) in regards to the Resurrection of the Dead to be beneficial (implied by the word HOPE) to BOTH the RIGHTEOUS and WICKED too.

Indeed, the wicked are Raised for Judgment (John 5:29, 1 Peter 4:5) where they hear the Gospel too, are Judged and thereafter their spirit lives to God (1 Peter 4:6), where the spirit will be given an imperishable body thereafter (1 Corinthians 15:42 with Corinthians 15:44).

Please bear in mind that apostle Paul skips the ‘Judgment part’ in 1 Corinthians 15 entirely (for example, no mention of age-during Judgment or equivalent) and mentions the ‘end results only’, namely referring to the ‘spirit living to God’ part of 1 Peter 4:6 as the End Result of the Resurrection of the Dead (1 Corinthians 15:21) which is being Raised Imperishable (1 Corinthians 15:42) in a spiritual body (1 Corinthians 15:44) as God Wills to Give differently toward each (1 Corinthians 15:38) making sense of the ‘least & greatest’ (Matthew 5:19) in the ‘kingdom of the heavens’ in this aspect too toward ‘all men’ (context: 1 Corinthians 15:21 – 22, 1 Corinthians 15:49) with regards to the differences as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 15:38 – 41 as well.

I seem to see that the process of Judgment carries into the afterlife for the wicked (John 5:29) but not so for the righteous (John 5:24) who may face Judgment or fiery trials in this life (in principle of Hebrews 12:6 – 7, 1 Peter 4:12 – 13).

The Imperishable body conferred upon the wicked is at the end of the Judgment on the spirit which lives to God (1 Peter 4:6) where I believe that both body + soul are destroyed first in ‘Hell’ (Matthew 10:28) where body, soul and spirit are distinct though these may have overlaps (1 Thessalonians 5:23 mentions each distinctly proving each as a part of an individual).

In short, I see the Resurrection of the Dead for the Wicked as follows:

This ENTIRE PROCESS (from being Raised for Judgment in John 5:29 to ‘their spirit living to God’ as mentioned in 1 Peter 4:6 where this spirit gets its own spiritual body thereafter, 1 Corinthians 15:44 with Corinthians 15:38 – 43 as explanation of details) is meant as the RESURRECTION of the DEAD in regards to the WICKED which is seen when these Verses are taken together as it is Written. 1 Corinthians 15:23 mentions a different ‘order’ (of time, implied from 1 Timothy 2:6 too) for this HOPE to be True for the WICKED as well as part of the DEAD (1 Corinthians 15:21) which are referred to toward being MADE ALIVE in CHRIST eventually too (1 Corinthians 15:22).

For the RIGHTEOUS, the entire process is similar EXCEPT that there is NO AFTERLIFE JUDGMENT as mentioned in John 5:24 and is seen as the “Resurrection of Life” only (as it is mentioned in John 5:29, NASB).

How will the Wicked be Justified by God as Romans 4:5 declares?

The WICKED will “be SAVED” (Isaiah 45:22, 1 Timothy 2:4 – KJV, John 12:32, 1 Timothy 4:10) —-> when they CONFESS ALLEGIANCE to HIM (Isaiah 45:23) as part of the ALL (Romans 5:18 – 19, 1 Corinthians 15:22) —> where they obtain the RIGHTEOUSNESS of GOD (Isaiah 45:24) by the FAITH of JESUS CHRIST eventually (Romans 3:22 – KJV) —-> during their appointed times for this accordingly (1 Timothy 2:6) as part of the TIMES for the RESTORATION of ALL things (Acts 3:21).

This is the meaning of His Great Mercy indeed which Triumphs Over Judgment (ending it for if the Judgment is eternal then it is not triumphed over, as Promised in James 2:13 even in the context of the WORST Judgment with NO Mercy first) —> where this SAME MERCY (as God has NO partiality of any kind, Romans 9:16) is Promised toward ALL the DISOBEDIENT (NASB) and UNBELIEVING (KJV) too eventually (Romans 11:32) which will Come to Pass in Its own Divine TIMES Appointed for the SALVATION when HIS RANSOM applies to them too as part of the ALL (1 Timothy 2:6).

Please note that the Verb-WILL HAVE (is Translated Correctly in Greek in Verse above and it is NOT a noun as some translations render) which makes the meaning clearer.

God’s Will regarding the SALVATION of the WHOLE WORLD (1 John 4:14, John 3:17, 1 Corinthians 15:28, Romans 8:20 – 22) to END the ‘Wrath of God’ too (a ‘Propitiation’ beyond ‘us’ or ‘believers only’ and toward the WHOLE WORLD too, is mentioned in 1 John 2:2). God’s Will CANNOT be Refuted when it is DONE by LORD JESUS CHRIST only as it is with the aspect of Salvation. Can you see it (Isaiah 14:24) regarding the END (Isaiah 46:10)?

In other words, the Common Fallacy or mistake in Theology is to argue to the ‘failure’ of ‘us’ in ‘not’ fulfilling God’s Will being applied WRONGLY to the Salvation of All and then claiming that these too might not come to pass for all. The error is obvious since Salvation ONLY depends on Lord Jesus Christ’s Act and thus He CANNOT Fail making the Reconciliation of All Created things (Colossians 1:16, Colossians 1:20) till God becomes All in All True in the End (1 Corinthians 15:28) eventually in its Own Times (1 Timothy 2:6).

Please also note these two verses below speaking this SAME BIBLICAL TRUTH:

“So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to ALL MEN, even so through One Act of Righteousness there Resulted Justification of LIFE to ALL MEN.” (Romans 5:18, NASB)

“For as through the one man’s disobedience THE MANY were made SINNERS, even so through the Obedience of the One THE MANY will be made RIGHTEOUS.” (Romans 5:19, NASB)

The SAME ALL MEN mentioned to be condemned is the SAME ALL MEN mentioned to be eventually Justified to LIFE in Romans 5:18 without any ‘strange manipulations or explanations’.

Similarly, the SAME THE MANY which were made SINNERS is the SAME THE MANY mentioned to be MADE RIGHTEOUS eventually in Romans 5:19 agreeing to all these. The MANY is mentioned here in this verse since ALL MEN were made SINNERS through ADAM (where ADAM + THE MANY = ALL MEN who were made SINNERS). Can you see this simple equation?

In fact, ALL MEN condemned is mentioned in Romans 5:18 because it includes ADAM + the REST of MANKIND (the MANY). Lord Jesus Christ is OUT OF THIS EQUATION simply because HE did NOT SIN and is NOT condemned by ADAM’s sin but rather He is mentioned DISTINCTLY as the ONE through WHOM this JUSTIFICATION of LIFE and being MADE RIGHTEOUS will Happen toward ALL MEN (that is, ADAM + the MANY, where THE MANY = the REST of MANKIND excluding ADAM).

In Greek it is ‘the many’ and ‘not many’ which is mentioned in Romans 5:19 meaning that a particular ‘the many’ is referred to here namely that ‘the many’ that were made ‘sinners through Adam’ which is ‘the rest of mankind excluding Adam’, that is:

THE MANY (in Romans 5:19) = ‘the rest of mankind excluding Adam only’

ADAM is singled out since he is the CAUSE of the FALL from whom the CONDEMNATION and SIN is passed on. THE MANY is separately mentioned as part of the ALL MEN as the rest of MANKIND gets imputed with this sin/condemnation automatically as is the JUSTIFICATION of LIFE and the being MADE RIGHTEOUS in CHRIST is also PROMISED to be AUTOMATIC eventually when His Ransom applies in its OWN TIMES being a Testimony (or comes to pass, as 1 Timothy 2:6 reveals).

This is the END for ALL MEN and it is Inevitable as it is the IMMUTABLE WILL of God (anyone dare to claim otherwise? please be careful lest you take His Holy Name in Vain by claiming ‘opposite to this verse’; do you dare now to say otherwise? Matthew 12:37):

“For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the Living God, Who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers.” (1 Timothy 4:10, NASB)

Simple, isn’t it? All arguments are ‘as it is Written only’ with ‘no strange explanations by omission or addition’ (Galatians 1:7, Hebrews 13:9, 1 Timothy 4:1). For example, the context of 1 Timothy 4:1 DIRECTLY implies that ‘God SAVING ALL MEN’ is NOT a doctrine of demons as it is mentioned within this SAME LETTER by apostle PAUL himself in 1 Timothy 2:4 and 1 Timothy 4:10 where in the latter verse, both the phrases ALL MEN and THOSE WHO BELIEVE are mentioned distinctly proving this FACT IRREFUTABLY too (Titus 2:1, 2 Timothy 4:3).

Can the Eternal (or more accurately, age-during) Hell (or more accurately Hades/Death) Sentence be CANCELLED? Here’s an example for instruction in this:

This verse seems to say ‘no’ as ‘the damned’ speak here as follows:

“Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:” (Isaiah 28:15, KJV)

Please note that there is NO HOPE until the NEXT VERSE (consecutive, context) REVEALS MAJESTICALLY regarding LORD JESUS CHRIST the CORNERSTONE (as The Answer to the Verse above):

“Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.” (Isaiah 28:16, KJV)

Please note that the word translated as HELL in Isaiah 28:15 & Isaiah 28:18 (next) is the SAME Word which in Hebrew is SHEOL while in Greek, its equivalent is HADES as it is where the ‘rich man was’, remember (Luke 16:23)?

The VERSES do NOT end there in a Hopeless manner but rather MAJESTICALLY go further ONLY after Revealing (Mysteriously Lord Jesus Christ as the Cornerstone, which is only understood Post-New Testament Scripture, Acts 4:11 with Isaiah 28:16 above) —> to bring this HOPE, i.e. the CANCELLATION of HELL & DEATH (meaning of Mercy which Triumphs over Judgment, James 2:13 which is Promised to ALL eventually too, Romans 11:32) as it is Written (consecutive verses – context):

“Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.

And your covenant with DEATH shall be DISANNULLED, and your agreement with HELL shall NOT stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.” (Isaiah 28:17 – 18, KJV)

In Fact, that is HOW God Saves from the Lake of Fire in that those BOUND in their sins, implied from the words ‘lies & falsehood’ in Isaiah 28:15 —> (by ‘covenant with Death’ & by ‘agreement with Hell (Hades/Sheol)’, Isaiah 28:15 – KJV) —> shall be JUDGED First (Isaiah 28:17, Revelation 20:11 – 15) —> but this SAME ‘covenant with Death’ & by ‘agreement with Hell’ for these condemned ones will eventually be CANCELLED too (‘disannulled’, ‘not stand’) as Isaiah 28:18 Prophetically Mentions Post-Judgment (as the verse prior mentions Judgment in Isaiah 28:17 first, 1 Peter 4:5 too) —> where these dead must hear the Gospel or the Report too whilst being Judged Day/Night (1 Peter 4:6, Isaiah 28:19 – 20) —> but their spirit will live to God thereafter (1 Peter 4:6) as God Rises to Do His Strange Work (Isaiah 28:21) in Christ (Isaiah 28:16) as discussed prior —> which is “From the hand of Sheol [Hades/Hell] I do Ransom them” (Hosea 13:14, YLT) and “From Death I Redeem them” (Hosea 13:14, YLT) —> thereby causing these ones to be SAVED (1 Timothy 2:4, 1 Timothy 4:10) —-> and God Promises to CERTAINLY DO IT as the phrase “Repentance is hid from Mine eyes” (Hosea 13:14, YLT) means with regards to this as it is Written.

Yes, please note that “Repentance is hid from Mine eyes” (Hosea 13:14, YLT) means that “God will NOT Repent/Change His Mind” from doing the SAVING the WICKED who are bound to DEATH & HADES —> as when it is thrown in the LAKE of FIRE (Revelation 20:14 – 15, Judgment first – Isaiah 28:17 till Victory – Matthew 12:20) as their COVENANT with DEATH and AGREEMENT with HELL (HADES) will be CANCELLED (DISANNULED, NOT STAND) eventually as it is Prophesied in Isaiah 28:18 —> by His Mercy which Triumphs over Judgment (even in the case of the worst Judgment with no mercy first – James 2:13), ending it —> causing Him to Gloriously SAVE as He says that “From the hand of Sheol [Hades/Hell] I do Ransom them” (Hosea 13:14, YLT) and “From Death I Redeem them” (Hosea 13:14, YLT) when they are in the Lake of Fire together with Death & Hades bound by it prior (Revelation 20:14 – 15) —-> causing them to be SAVED too eventually as He Promised (1 Timothy 2:4, 1 Timothy 4:10) —> by Lord Jesus Christ the CornerStone (Isaiah 28:16, 1 Corinthians 15:55 – 57, John 12:32).

This is NOT a private interpretation as apostle Paul Himself applies Hosea 13:14 beyond ‘Ephraim only’ (Hosea 13:12) when he quotes this Passage GENERALLY in the CONTEXT of the Resurrection of the Dead (1 Corinthians 15:21) in the CONTEXT of ALL MEN being MADE ALIVE by CHRIST eventually (1 Corinthians 15:22) and the details of it regarding DEATH and HADES or SHEOL (which are mentioned in Revelation 20:13 – 15, Isaiah 28:15, 18 & Hosea 13:14, 1 Corinthians 15:55 – YLT linking these together) reveal further details building up to the whole picture as this exegesis of combining Scripture by ‘line by line’ etc. in regards to this Topic is certainly mentioned in Isaiah 28:13 itself (can you see it?) & the verse in Isaiah 28:22 itself GENERALIZES this CANCELLING of HELL & DEATH to the WHOLE EARTH eventually as the CONSUMPTION (or END) as the phrase “for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.” (Isaiah 28:22, KJV) seals this EXEGESIS IRREFUTABLY.
